@MovieMunchies-jx8we you guys got to watch and react to Home Alone 2. Let's just say this movie is even funnier, lol. Please, you guys got to do a reaction video on Home Alone 2.
I never had the urge to see this movie until I discovered John Williams composed the score. When I did see it, it was the emotional scenes that made it resonate for me. The scene in the church was beautiful and the following music cue that spun off of Carol of the Bells as Kevin rushes home and begins setting up his booby traps are my two favorite scenes in the movie. The final one is Kevin seeing his neighbor reconnect with his son and his family.
@@toomanyaccounts That tarantula was real (venin and all, and named Barry) and the scream was very real, and trying to pay homage to the movie "Psycho" : ua-cam.com/video/wOxNUbvC5HA/v-deo.htmlsi=jWGKQzjrCopyYdGq
Home Alone 2 is so underrated. I really don’t understand why it’s so hated, especially the Nostalgia Critic when he reviewed it and gave it his… honestly very over the top and exaggerated overview of the film.
If you notice the old man Marley... he has an injured hand that heals as the movie goes on. After they talk in the church, Kevin gives some advice, and the wound in his hand is healing with a simple plaster. At the end, when he's reunited with his son and granddaughter, he waves, and shows that he's now fully healed. Fun fact: the dialogue between Catherine O'Hara & John Candy when she's on her way home was improv; the 2 had starred together on the show Saturday Night Live & were really good friends, so Chris Columbus let them do their own thing there. He & Macaulay Culkin were also in Uncle Buck together; I highly recommend that one. Also, the bit where Joe Pesci went to bite Culkin's finger: he bit down a bit too hard & Culkin still has a scar on that finger.
2:00 Let me point out that, at _this_ point in the movie, _everyone_ in this _huge_ household had their bags _all_ packed, except Kevin. His bags were not packed at all. _Everyone_ was sure that his parents would get him packed and they _didn't._ Then they penalized him by sending him to sleep in a part of the house seldom seen under _normal_ circumstances. Then there was a _big rush_ to get out the door in the morning, and no one thought to check the attic. Now, because Kevin's bags were not packed, there was not a designated place for them by the door to remind someone to go _check_ for him. It was like they were _preparing_ to leave him behind.
One of my favorite moments watching was when the guy came through the window and landed on all those light bulbs and all 3 of you very loudly screamed, "AAAAAAAAHHHHHH!!!!!" all together! You ladies are absolutely the best, everything about you is fantastic! Best wishes to you all from America!
I love that John Candy and Macaulay were reunited in this after Uncle Buck. Even though they weren't in a scene together, close enough. Also the funeral scene by Candy was completely improvised, which makes it even more hilarious. And Marv's spider death scream is legit. He had arachnophobia. The greatest crime in this certainly...is that Kevin didn't even get to eat his Macaroni and Cheese.

I took my kids to the theater to watch this movie when it first came out (they insisted) and I’ve seen it several times since. I haven’t watched it in probably over 20 years until today and I really enjoyed watching it with you young ladies. Merry Christmas to you and I hope you make this a Christmas movie you watch for many years to come.

It is interesting seeing how people from foreign cultures react to traditional American movies. For example, the shock when Kevin’s mother criticizes him in front of the cop or when he calls his Mom “Dummy” says a lot about what different cultures consider inappropriate.
I share their culture shock, and I'm American. I wouldn't be here if I called my mom "dummy". 😄 But I wasn't growing up in the 90. Our sibling interaction wasn't that toxic either, but I was the oldest, and worked on making it good. I didn't just love my siblings, I LIKED them, which is another thing entirely.

19:04 "What did he do?" "I think he misused the product." On the nose. That was _aftershave_ lotion. I think the demand for this product has tapered off since 1990. I've been shaving since I was 16, in 1994, and I have never needed it. That's probably because shavers, now, have _moisture_ strips, but initially, keeping your shave area from drying out was a pretty big problem, so in the US, we started selling _aftershave_ lotion. The problem is that it's _horribly_ irritating for anyone who does not need to _shave._ That was what Kevin was _experiencing,_ just now. This is not a product for eight-year-olds.

Nerd Explains did a hilarious "How to Beat" video on this movie. The narration is done from the perspective of the fan theory that Kevin is the child version of the antagonist from the Saw franchise and he refers to Kevin as "Junior Jigsaw." The whole video is commending Kevin on his traps, then suggesting ways to make them more painful or lethal.
Merry Christmas Ladies.
