He did act gangsta in front of black people, if you really know about Pac pay attention to before he got big, with his socially conscious music and poetic lyrics, he was a soft spoken, mild mannered person because he wasn't around gangbangers yet. Then pay attention to when he got big, now every song is talking about killing somebody even though Pac never caught a body before, talking about the same ignorant nigga shit 90s gangsta rap was fueled by, but he was obviously trying too hard to keep this thugged put persona going. I grew up off 2pac and in my 30's. 2pac was probably the reason a generation of dudes acted tougher than what they really were until that became their identity. So to see the movie come out and he was into books doing ballet was a shock. It's not like social media was around and youtube to get exposed like rick ross or people would not idolize him as much. Also words mean things. 2pac talked about death and street life alot that energy manifest and you attract that to you. I'm seriously glad that the top rap artist now are regular people like drake,j.cole and kendrick. You get alot further in life just being yourself and staying out of trouble compared to feeling you something to prove. People who play that tough guy role either play themself ending up knocked out on worldstar for the world to see, in jail regretting a decision made trying to show you tough or even worse getting killed getting into shit you should have never been in. Seriously in your teens/20's focus on laying low, getting legal money and fucking woman and chances are you won't have to worry about constantly looking over shoulder for some negative energy to come back to you.

I love E.D.I. answer, he's the only person who ever addressed appropriately that we all have many facets and Tupac, might have more than most. Too many people like Michael Jai White, some of Tupac classmates from Performance School want Pac to simply be an actor or simply be a performance student. Long before he ever became an actor and long before he attended a performance art school, Tupac was the creation of an absent father and a loving mother who had served time. Mike D from Beastie Boys is probably the most ignorant to speak on Tupac in relation to this. Tupac actually always reminded me of Frank Sinatra, meaning no level of success or money was going to change they came from humble beginnings and were emotional people. So you got the sweet kind and loving versions of both sometimes, but sometimes you didn't.
