Part 1: • E.D.I. Mean on Kastro ...
--------
In this clip, E.D.I. Mean recounted the vibe during the final days at Death Row prior to 2Pac's untimely death. He talked about Pac having intentions of flooding the mixtape circuit which would've made him a precursor to 50 Cent. E.D.I. Mean also confirmed that the actor who played Pac in his biopic, Demetrius Shipp Jr.'s father is a credited producer on one of Pac's albums. E.D.I. also discussed how Pac didn't need the big name producers for him to make a hit and named some of the hits he developed using producers from the "wack room."
That hail mary beat felt like it came from some spiritual source. Everytime I play the song any where everybody becomes mesmerize.
Fr homie
Mesmerized *
It sounds like death literally. Not a happy ending. Like you're in limbo. "Dealing with fate... Hoping God don't close the gate"
He wrote from tbe perspective of being dead already
about 15 years ago when i was a teen and i was walking throuhg town listening through hail mary on my headphones on low volume, the fucking church clock tower bell rang at the exact moment it rang in the song too ; that shit freaked me the fuck out , ever since then its been one of my fav beats
Hail Mary was a tough beat what in the entire hell is Vlad is talking about 🤦🏿

Hell yeah . Heavy in the game hard ass fuck
Can you imagine one more Pac and Johnny J album. Probably would have been a classic.

That Hail Mary beat didn't sound like a 90s beat that shit was ahead of time along with the no more pain beat
Exact same thang I said it sounded like early 2000s

The reason why No More Pain was sounding ahead of its time, because Timbaland was ghost producing under Devante Swing.

It was definitely Different for that time... Pac had an ear for some shit
Great beat but Hail Mary ain't a hit without Pac that chorus is one of the most iconic chorus in rap history and EVERYONE knows that opening bar "I ain't a killa but don't push me"

Glad knew Demetrius Shipp produced that song. He’s just trying to get a reaction to see if he think Pac smashed the mom. Actually Demetrius Shipp Senior looks like the son....and if you think the Hail Mary beat isn’t fire by itself, you are crazy

Pac had a big influence on the sound of instrumentals on makaveli..He was telling the producers how he wanted the sound of bass, clap and so on..He made the wack room sound good...GOAT.
It’s amazing how minimal Vlad’s knowledge of this music called hip hop is
Duh cuz he's a fed / cop investigating murders n drug dealers n gang bangers everyone bout to get jammed up cuz everyone talkin bout all those crimes tupac isn't even dead tryin to proove he still alive they investigators on all these podcasts everyone too dumb to take it seriously they all gonna be sorry they went on here n talked about all those crimes n shit. Damn that’s crazy to hear that D. Shipp’s father produced for Pac 20+ years ago. Another thing that blew my mind was when I found out Daz Dillinger produced “Ambitionz Az A Ridah”. I only found that out recently. I’ve been listening to the song for years but never bothered to check who produced it. Daz made a certified banger with that one. My favourite Pac song 💥
were you living under a rock this whole time ? everyone knows DAZ & Johnny Produced AEOM & Quik Sprinkled his Magic by Mixing the Whole Album in 3 Days.
DFunk Daz and Quik weren’t the only ones who produced on the album.
You didn’t have the cd huh? Probably too young but anyways yea growing up flipping thru the booklet I immediately noticed daz produced it

The twinkling and bells in that beat make that song so eerie along with Pac's frantic and paranoid delivery. Classic song and beat.
Tubular bells ... popular in Westside gfunk beats too they alway bring energy to a beat
Vlad wanted to say “u sure that’s not Tupac son “? Lmao
That would have meant 2Pac would’ve been a young ass dad if he was his real father, cuz Demetrius Jr was born in 1988, 2Pac turned 17 that year.
kevin084life shit I had my son at 18
Vlad was trying to start shit. 😄

Lately Toss it up has been my favorite song of Pac , I love the beat , the singing , the auto tune , everything , Pac was getting better and better . Wish him and Johnny j could’ve did more
Toss It Up wasn't produced by Johnny J. That was produced by Demitrius Shipp Sr.
“baby what’s your phone number I get around cali love to my true thug picture me now” that bar was crazy.
Against all odds is one of my favorite pac songs, because it sounded so far ahead of its time, plus pac just went off on that it’s kinda like a sad end to his career in his song it was just like damn if you listen to how different that song is compared to what he was doing on his first album it was way more aggressive and deep and it kinda is like damn you can see this dude really just lost his marbles
I will never forget the first time seeing the makaveli cover confused my ass off and with those unforgettable beats and all the "ooohs" on the toss it up beat. All the church bells on the hail mart beat. The guitar on life of an outlaw.
The beat is just as hard as the lyrics it's a masterpiece
Thank you for these interviews. I’ve always been a pac fan but these interviews give you an outlook of how great and ahead of his time he truly was. Pac died at 25 bro 25! That’s mind blowing to me!
Pac should've got Easy Mo Bee on the Makaveli album

Easy mo bee said he saw pac driving in L.A. and in traffic tried to flag pac down, pac shined him on, wasn't trusting no east coast dude's affiliated with Bad Boy
@@jondadon7993 that's explainable why they stopped working together cuz his affliction with Bad Boy

@Andre Ricardo Bryant Is was more to do with him being shot in NY and not trusting certain people, that he thought were close to Puffy and Biggie
Ppl around Pac said Hail Mary sounded too much like a "Down South " beat. Glad he did his thing regardless
He loved the south to so it makes sense
Vlad you gotta step up your research. Lefteye at DR in 96? Not knowing Demetrius Shipp did Toss It Up??
It's Vlad what do you expect from him?
i heard left eye came once to the studio in march of 96 on the good life/ world wide time after time sessions, her and angie martinez
Also reg had said on bomb 1st the reason why Johnny J left, Pac wanted to sign him to a production deal.
I switch between "Me against the world" & "Makavelli" as my favorite Pac albums
Agreed. All Eyez was too incoherent for me. Too many ideas.
The sequencing and theme of Me Against The World is pure genius. It's like listening to someone experiencing the 5 stages of grief on wax.
ME TOO. Wow. Depends on my mood honestly
It’s all mood dependent for me. Has something for everyone
Makavelli for me
Makaveli Is a classic. S/O Hurt-M-Bad & Darryl "Big D" Harper for their amazing production.

Meanwhile Pac back at his crib with the wife:
Wife: but my husband is your producer!👀👄

"All Eyez On Me" got the best bangers, but I always said "Me Against the World" and "Still I Rise" got the best music. Just listen to "So many tears" or "Teardrops and closed caskets" - they don't even sound like hip-hop beats, it's more like free flowing music.
