Says someone who's got wayyy too many spaces in their sentence... No offense, but you could do with less internet, it'll do you a world of good to touch grass for a change
As a civil war brat in Bosnia I can tell you stock up on essentials. Be armed and train hard. Connect with your fellow Patriots and never rush into battle..Stay put till initial false flag smoke clears.
I was in Croatia and Bosnia in 1999 with NATO SFOR. One of the interpreters was from Vukovar and the other was from Srebrenica, they both told me stories about how Yugoslavia fell apart and what it was like during the war. I am stocked up with a lot of things right now because I want to give my family and I the greatest chance of survival I can. I was in Okucani and went on missions to Brcko.
@Tomorrison28 yes it is. Possibly an assassination on a certain conservative candidate and the blame placed on Russia or maybe even on their own candidate and blame placed on conservative gun owners. Or a biological attack on a community..the possibilities are endless.
If you haven't started prepping yet, dont stress over the cost of acquiring everything you just now thought of. If you just get a couple extra items every time you're already out, they will add up over time. Look for things with long shelf life. The more that people are prepared, the less people will be panicking when SHTF.
I live in a beautiful coastal town in SoCal. My biggest concern is electrical grid failure from an EMP, terrorism (foreign or domestic), or a solar flare. Regardless, as you allude to, our system is very fragile and if the trucks stop delivering to grocery stores, if the water stops pumping, etc. there are only about 3 days before everything devolves into chaos. Likewise, air is the most important thing, followed by water, and then food and medicine. I recommend and have prepared for myself in my rented room 100 gallons per person and a 3month supply of food per person, in addition to guns and ammo, medical supplies, small stoves for cooking, water purification, medicines, etc; in other words a 3 month supply minimum of everything you might need should there be no power. All you gotta do is survive the 90% of society dying off in the first 1-3 months and the new world is yours. Also, make sure you train and exercise; go hiking with that bug out bag, go to the shooting range, go hungry for days, partner up with like minded members of your community. God bless.
Well said brother, checking in from Monterey. In my backyard, I keep equipment for distilling ocean water by boiling. I keep fresh water on hand, but I’m also close to the sea, and that’ll be an option if our water system fails.
The most likely SHTF events, in my opinion, are 1. Political violence if Trump wins in 2024. 2. Economic collapse if a Democrat wins the Presidency and/or they retake the House of Representatives. 3. Social upheaval as a result of attempted mass gun confiscation. 4. Shortages caused by supply chain disruptions, after the introduction of another pandemic. 5. War with China over Taiwan. 6. Extinction Level Event triggered by Artificial Intelligence. 7. Overdue, cataclysmic natural disaster (Famine due to severe drought, asteroid, comet, volcanic eruption, solar flare EMP, etc.). 8. Class warfare that will degrade into a civil war or race war.
I own a roofing company and I have about 50 people from all different walks of life. I think we would all band together if an SHTF senario would happen. Some of my guys are from Colombia and Ecuador they lived on self sustainable little family style farms. I think my group of friends and family is the absolute best asset I could ever have. I recommend everyone else to meet like minded folks.
I had 5 back surgeries my backround is all mechanical like HVAC PLUMBING & electrical and my wife says I need to take it easy because Im always doing something around the house. My mom always used to say if you lay down you stay down. I feel that that statement is very true!
God Bless Her Soul! Keep on moving, but also keep in mind when your body gives you signs to take a rest, you can still do stuff around, but you still have to take some rest from time to time.
If you don't pick a time to rest, your body will pick it for you. You need to recuperate. Resting heals you, even if you feel lazy or guilty. It sounds like your wife wants to keep you around. Maybe she sees something you don't and realizes you're running on empty.
Had back surgery twice myself thanks to 40 years in HVAC. I ruck twice a week now and I’m much more of a protector at 60 than ever. Stay frosty fellas.
I'm in a similar situation and there is no doubt that when i sit around all day doing nothing, my back is going to hurt the next day. But if I'm up and active, its about a 50% chance.
You have the idea. Started survival thing over thirty years ago. When I worked as a street cop. My first wife was an ostrich, she didn't want to hear about it, or even self defense. Through the years in different relationships never had no luck. Now it looks like I'm a lone wolf. But that won't stop me. I keep my mind on business, and don't let my guard down.
I lived in Tacoma for over 30 years. My wife and I decided to move to the country about five years ago. Now we own acreage in the outskirts of a very small town. That was probably the best decision we've ever made. We still have friends in Tacoma, Lakewood, and Puyallup. We hear how the place has even further degraded, it's sad.
Ham radios for comms, join a local club, don't need a licence to join, all are welcome. They will mentor you, teach you, most are older down to earth patriots, and very intelligent. Also you can get gear real cheap , loaned to you and on some ocasions free. If you can't communicate with your loved ones things really get ugly.
During BLM riots in San Bernardino, California, where I live things got crazy made me really think how to organize myself was I organized enough only to find out that I wasn’t prepared like I thought I was rude awakening but it was needed some areas. I did really good scored high other areas horrible results. This video was perfect to remind me what I need to work on. Thank you.
During the BLM riots I had 1 .357 Magnum revolver and 150 rounds of ammunition. Presently, I have 6 assorted firearms pistols/revolvers. 6 shotguns 3 pump actions/3 semiautomatics and 9,000 rounds of ammunition, assorted calibers. I will never be caught unprepared again.
I always say those that are anti-gun have been protected by society and order in that society that they can't conceptualize the police not coming, or having to rely on themselves. Now your comment isn't about guns but general security / preparedness and the same concept applies. The BLM riots damaged millions and hurt a lot of people but I think it opened people's eyes on how the police might not come to help. People might setup an autonomous zone and burn the police station down like they did in 2020 and kick out the police. I do like to hear comments like yours where people saw and event like those and came out the other end better prepared. We rely on the government way too much now.
@TheTurk56523 and how many of those are you proficient with? And do you actually have community members that are proficient with those guns if either of those answers are "no proficiency" you have only put a target on your back and have created unnecessary danger for you and loved ones and are less prepared then the dude down the street with just a fanny pack, water, and a hand gun.
books on every bit of knowledge that will be needed bc. if the internet isn't working having a few books covering medical, survival, food, security, navigation, mechanical etc. will be life savers
I have lived Louisiana my entire life with the exception of a few field trips to the Sand box and working as a cop during Katrina. You are pretty spot on.
You asked us what scenario that we are prepping for. The short answer is anything and everything. I have lived through every major disaster besides a tsunami. I've lived through hurricanes with no electricity for 3 weeks after. Wildfires and blizzards and earthquakes. Tornadoes destroyed my business an another another destroyed my wife's hospital (RN). I was so close to Mount St. Helens when it erupted (1980) that we had to high tail it, leaving our belongings behind to be lost forever. So... quite a lot. All those situation convinced me to prep, keep prepping, expand preps. Now as a senior, it is even more important. Am I satisfied with what I have yet. No. It's a process. BUT, the thing that I prep most for is a GRID down situation and the societal upheaval that comes with that. Hungry people are DANGEROUS. There is nowhere to run to outlive that scenario, therefore prepping is paramount. Do I think that will happen? Of course! It is only a matter of time and in my opinion, we're on the brink of big events. Staying in top physical condition is as equally important as having food and water and a boom stick.
I am constantly replenishing my food stocks along with everything else I need because this is a way of living not just something you do once in a while it’s a way of living. Where I am from we have elders that still remember our traditional ways of doing things . I live on a First Nations reservation where we hunt for our meat in the fall and we plans gardens in the spring
Urban will always be harder in some ways, easier in others. Luckily I have some remote locations I can go to. Full SHTF, remote. Civil, depends. If staying local, get everyone's talents and know who you can trust, who will be a problem. Safety in numbers. Plan how to survive like it is the 1850's and you will survive. Which means you have a lot to learn.
I left the city and made a homestead in Missouri. I found a spot free from the big city, and all that comes with it. I have woods, my pond, and plenty of wildlife and fish.
One thing everyone can do for relatively cheaply is to learn how to fish. Learning the waterways in your area will also teach you the lay of the land in your area. It will provide you with a great reason to meet people and be in areas that aren't in your "normal circles". It will provide a source of protein and much needed calories if SHTF comes around.
I suggest you educate yourself on how things were during the great depression. We now have over 330 million people in this country. And most are not prepared at all. I'll give you a hint. Many tried that. Nature was depleted in a very short while.
If you are out fishing, you are exposed. In a SHTF situation, anything you catch you will not have very long because someone more desperate than you will take your catch by force. Remember, there is no law enforcement, civility will be gone, and morality will be gone. The law of the land will be warlords and marauders. People will do reprehensible things if their kids are hungry.
Its gonna be real hard man. Because you have to consider a lot. How to keep my home warm, my belly fed, have water supplies, have security measures, have fuel supplies, what to do after they ran out. Am I in position to defend my family and my property? What about hygiene? Theres a lot of stuff to consider...
Great video. I’ve personally put a lot of thought on this subject. I think my near threats are civil unrest, supply chain breakdown, maybe a deep recession or depression. Honestly im not sure what’s coming, only that something is coming, and life won’t be the same. I like to believe that some things happen for a reason. I didn’t join the AF to become a combat engineer, but it’s what they trained me to be. Building, maintaining, and defending air bases is what they taught me, and that experience may be invaluable in times to come.
I live in south africa, about 200 km from cape town,we have power outages every day,so I find value i what you say and have planned for some type of grid down event, but after watching your video I now see there are some things I need to look at,thank you very much

Hey. It's that prepping is as when we learn responsibility over our health from personal hygiene to Say NO to drugs and drunkenness, vices and moral detouring and overeating.... prepping is also a fact of life we should teach ourselves and obtain as we can resources... it's brought the best of me yet as an autistic person becoming a prepper as is within my reach of possibilities 😎
you need a hideout in the mountain forest brother large cities will be ruled buy warlord gangs an when the resources there end they will start attacking the countryside, we all know history we all know what people do to people nothing is change is a matter of time when all this system collapse an return back to medieval era the mid era of humanity
Two standard questions I ask from supply places to gun shows that you can feel free to address or work with... Once shtf starts to plateau after the "pop off" how do we even start to discern and ally to society establishing minded people? Would you prefer dangerous area that you have some visual, early warning, manageable details to or safer area that may have more blind spots, details that require more exposure or compromising routine? I realize with true challenges one can rarely truly be prepared.
Well said, and make sure the family is up to speed with different possibilities. Definitely need to keep our heads on a swivel. Glad I was never a town or city guy, grew up in the sticks. I'm far from ready though. Lots of great comments here! Stoker, you have a nice following. Keep it up and God Bless!
Over the past 5 - 6 years, I've started exploring anything outside of 15km from where I stay. I've gone up to about 50km in various different directions, and over the past 2 years I've explored other areas as part of my job, doing additional standby duties for other depots, and came across places that I otherwise never would have even considered going to, but now have a greater idea of how our wonderful city has been laid out. Unfortunately there are massive problematic sections, run down areas with crime etc (worked in those areas between 2017 - 2019), and at least I'm fortunate enough to know most major routes spanning anything between 50 - 70km end to end, which personally feels amazing, and if I have to I can go up to 100km+ and still have a fairly vague idea of where I'm at before becoming "lost-ish". So yes, knowing your area like the back of your hand is a great skill to have, as I recall not so long ago I was traveling along a coastal route in our area to go visit a friend of mine, and as I was on my way, warning came to turn around as there was protest action, and fortunately due to me knowing the area from back in 2017 I was able to take a roundabout route and get the heck outta there cutting through a crappy area, but still somewhat safe-ish as it's a lesser busy route. Either way, thanks Stoker for these tips though, they're vital and important tips to have, and I agree don't call yourself a prepper if you're just living in the comfort of your home thinking that you'll miraculously be prepared without training regularly with the equipment and gear you've got. Gear and theory is only as good as your hands on experience with it ✌️
Living in the foster care system (60's-70's) taught me , to scout out the neighbourhoods really good after dark...which was the safest route home, where are the gang hangouts, which was the fastest route to the woods, etc ....I agree with your comment. It is truly a prepper skill to know your territory like the back of your hand .
@@kan-zee definitely, and thanks for adding your bit too. It's essential to know your area and various hotspots and things, and if things get outta hand, to have a backup plan to not get stuck. With the frequent power cuts we've been experiencing over the past year or so, I've even reconsidered my route of travel to get home quicker, be it on a more winding route, ironically enough, it's about 1km difference in distance lol, but saves so much time. It really does help knowing your area and surrounds for sure! Especially when it comes to choke points too 👀
Great idea, been doing the same and have mapped locations. Basically areas with water are top of list. I have mapped where just a bit under half a tank of fuel will get me. For anything longer term I would go to remote property to stay for extended time.
@@SgtSkrog definitely, and that's actually a great idea. I'll have to start adding those locations too, and have a beter plan of action. More information has never hurt 😋
Great video, Stoker! Been doing these things most of my life. Sometimes without even realizing I was helping my future self. Lol. Been doubling down the past few years for sure. I'm not perfectly set for any SHTF, but I do have a leg up. As you said, always be learning.
Before Penicillin most died from infection. When the grid goes down (which it eventually will) the lack of simple sanitation and clean water will kill millions.
I frequently eat cashews, pistachios, and cereal bars so it is easy to keep plenty extra in stock since they have a long shelf life. I have the one container that I am currently eating, plus one spare of each all the time. That is a 33oz container of cashews, 24oz of pistachios, and 48 cereal bars, plus sometimes beef jerky. Those don't need to be cooked at all. That is in addition to normal canned food like chicken noodle soup, Spaghettio's with meatballs, spam, macaroni & cheese, raviolis, Bush's baked beans, corn, canned sliced potatoes, etc. that are all non-refrigerated foods so it is fine without electricity. Then have a wood burning cast iron rocket stove for cooking in case of no utilities, plus I have a small foldable solar panel set with a power bank, rechargeable batteries, long lasting LED lanterns and flashlights, extra soap, toothpaste, shampoo, and hygiene products, extra medicine (I usually get the bottles of 100 for Benadryl, Ibuprofen, Tylenol, Aspirin, etc. bandages, peroxide, Neosporin, rechargeable hand radios, and a mountain of weapons. Now I am working on getting gas masks and other safety equipment.
Some mountain towns have a single highway as the only way in or out, and they can barely handle the thru traffic from a normal weekend, let alone an actual disaster. best to be prepared to hunker down for a while. This is awesome thanks
That’s so true. Living in Colorado and traveling back and forth. I 70 on a Saturday is hours of traffic. Than they decide to close a road for a year to fix it. Roads are friggen collapsing like Idaho.
Great teaching and awareness video as usual Top! If I can add just a little to this discussion. Myself and others are worried about the very real possibility of a EMP attack or direct attack on our energy grid.(see recent Shawn Ryan episodes on this topic) In a recent study conducted for the NSA and Congress, it was identified that a strategic attack on just 9 of our 500 energy grid "substations" would be enough to wipe out the entire grid to all Americans. And...this is the kicker here, within 6 months of the grid being down 90% of the U.S. population would be dead. 90 percent brother!!! We know that ALL of our water infrastructure relies on electricity and that nearly all of the energy substations have NO back up generators and even if they did if the grid goes down there will be no mechanisms available for diesel fuel to be delivered to these substations to run the generators. No water means death in 3 days for the average human being. What this study also revealed was 75% of the major components used in the manufacturing of our massive generators that run our energy grid substations are made in China AND there are only TWO manufacturers of these generators and transformers in the U.S.. Just two. This means that if a EMP device takes out our entire energy grid by tactically targeting these 9 energy substations it would take 5 to 6 years to fix and install new transformers and generators. This is not taking into account that ALL of our oil refineries will be down so no gas or diesel will be available. No electricity, No water, No fuel, nothing. The cities will quickly devolve into chaos and anarchy as people go hungry and have no water. You will not be able to rely on local law enforcement or the military because they will be at home taking care and protecting their own families. We are just one very easy EMP strike on our energy infrastructure from total chaos and annihilation. The chinese have been regularly testing our defenses and detection sensors with balloons and other assets for the past 7 years. All it would take is a couple of these balloons carrying a EMP device to detonate in the upper atmosphere above the continental U.S. and you can say goodbye to our civilization as we know it. Start preparing NOW. It's not too late to start gathering as many supplies as you can. Start a network with other people. Survival in this kind of austere conditions is easier with a group of like minded and well prepared people. Get out of the major cities NOW. If that's not possible find a location well outside the city and far enough away from other people to bug out to when the SHTF. Just remember though that a lot of other people are going to be heading to those remote locations so be ready to defend your A.O.. Stock up on medical supplies and antibiotics, as much ammunition as possible and have a plan for when this all goes down.
The main things I plan around is what is the most common threat to your area, flooding, earthquake, wildfires, injuries, animal attacks, loss of job, protests, your commute how far from home are you each day, how long to walk back, local crime etc.. focus your plan on what is most likely to affect you and the areas your in. METT-T, SMEAC, BAMCIS, most important KISS.
Loved the book suggestions, they seem so obvious but they're not something I hear mentioned very often. First time viewing your content, very impressive/ominous, subscribed!
Great video, what I do with my 16 year old son to prepare him for an un expected situation is that when we go a shopping mall I teach him the hallways behind the stores , where the deliveries are maid, I teach him this as an escape route in case of a shooting or who knows.
Great video Stoker Thank you Im starting to replenish. My community is good but a couple ringers would be nice. One of my big concerns is "flooders" Desperate City folk looking to steal supplies. Im 3 hours from 2 big ones but you never know when the caravans are coming. As always thanks for what you do Sir! And STAY STOKED
You are right about cash, after Katrina we did ok because we had it. There were a lot of folks that only had their plastic cards, including debit cards, that were shocked that no one would or could accept them for about a month. Heck, you had to wait in lines at the bank and show ID to withdraw any funds and it was usually limited to about $200 per person.
Excellent video. Very good points. When it comes to taking routes to and from work I try not to develop a pattern. I have multiple routes that I can take. The time difference is minimal by 5 minutes. I'm also always looking for difference routes. Especially since I work 1 and 1/2 hours from home.
Great information that everyone needs to hear , and it's not about if we already know or not. It's about keeping that Bug of preparedness buzzing in our ears. I'm not in the best of spot as far as Health , I've got COPD , Emphysema , Congestive Heart Failure.. So there's nothing i can do about that , and I have so many limitations. But I've been doing everything I can to see that we're in fare shape.. Since that Man made Flu Bug hit us a while back , i got to work on prepping for the possiblity of a long haul run. My Wife and I have built up a nice supply of food , water , for roughly 12 to 14 months.. Built up Meds for my COPD and Over the counter medicine.. Great First Aid supplies and a few Medical Books.. And took a few classes on First Add Trama.. And all the odds and ends , Back up Power , Batteries , Fire and so on.. I'm 60 years old now, and I've never owned a Boom Stick , but grew up around them. But we got everything covered on that end along with a few Training Classes.. We live on the out skerts of the City. But not as far as I would like to be , but it's what it is on that. We live in a apartment , so i can only do so much as far as Security. Good thing is that I'm in the middle with home's on both sides of us. So i only have to worry about two windows and one Door. Covered my windows with shatter proof film and build covers for them if I need to block them off , and video camera on each window.. My door is metal and I put 3 inch screws in everything with good locks and 2+4 bracing.. So we can hold up for a while , and we're going to be fine.. We have no choice but to Bug In , we don't have any place else to go.. We don't have any money to speak of , both of us are on SS Disability.. So we did the best we could do with what we could afford.. It may not be the best , nothing like these Big Time preppers .. But everything works and it's going to do what we need it to do. So I guess the whole point of my comment is this : You don't have to have a lot of money to be prepared , you just need to be willing to do what it takes to get prepared.. A little bit at a time, piece by piece.. A pack here , a can there , a box over there.. But it can be done by anyone on any budget... We're proof of that... So my suggestion to anyone who hasn't started getting things done , i would definitely get going with it.. Because things are going very bad , very fast.. So get up and get going , you'll be glad that you did when it all falls apart.. And it's always better to have a little bit of something , than a whole lot of nothing.. Stay Safe and Focused out there. Blessings to everyone.. 🦅🇺🇸🦅
Consider trying fasting… seriously. It has helped my COPD asthma. First 12 hours. Then 16 hours. The. 24 hours. Then I started getting confident. 48 hour fast with just coffee and tea. By 72 hour fast I really started getting healthier! I never thought it could happen. My lungs have massively improved and doctors told me it was impossible.
Wife and I are your age were pretty well set, been preparing for 6 years luckily the house is paid for in small town in Oklahoma. So were in a heavily armed town that I hope will pull together
I know everyone wants to play special forces with their AR, however if there is any military friend or foe involved, get a ghillie suit, and a space blanket. Remain unseen. Get camo netting for drones.
Great video! Prepping has always seemed like such a daunting thing to get into but like you said, just start by getting a bucket of rice. That made it so much simpler!
Sir, really sound advice. I listen to you, so that I don't miss the things that aren't sexy but crucial in a shtf situation. You really got me thinking about where I was working compared to where I live. So I recently changed work sites to be closer to home so that if I had to hike, I could be there in a short time. I also really like what you said about fitness. I am 59 years old and I push myself to walk 4.5 miles per day now. I want to be able to have mobility. Keep up the good work!
Diaper wipes ! Can do a lot of different things. Multivitamins. Paper towels in stead of toilet paper! Hand sanitizer, alcohol wipes, eye flush, benadryl,......
The thing that I have experienced is being in the aftermath of a hurricane. having no power for 2weeks Situational awareness Is critical in that situation. Even going to a traffic light that does not work, Becomes a standoff. It's amazing to me how quickly people sanity will go away when there are no electronics or electricity.
I have watched many videos along these lines, yours has been the best thus far, no barking you won't make it if you don't do or have this or that. Great presentation
Spray painting your rifle is popular (I do not recommend by the way) but I just did up an old hiking pack with a four pattern camo and it's absolutely perfect, matching up other gear like chest rigs and even painted an old hoody. I find that custom camo is harder to spot than popular patterns like woodland and especially multi cam these days, it's too familiar to the eye and can also be expensive. If you're short on dough any civilian pack and jacket can be easily transformed into a very practical set of cammies with a few different colors of spray paint to match your environment. 🎨🧑🏻🎨🖌️
Wow! I wondered if this one was coming. And you killed it!! Are you planning more specific SHTF scenarios? This one felt like a general, be ready video. Different scenario, different loadout. The thing I might add to this is that if you're planning to use local vegetation as a food source, incorporate it into your diet now. If you wait and have to rely on eating something your body is unfamiliar with, it'll cause GI track problems. It'll be your shit that is hitting the fan. Just finished processing 4.5 pounds of cherries through a steam juicer. Got 3 quarts of juice. First batch this year so it wont last long enough to can, but next batch should make it to the shelves. And you know the tale of using a medium alice pack to bring home 40 pounds of salsa makings from the local farmers market. Farmers markets are open, time to can / dry / preserve food!!! Yum!!!! And I should get a gallon of peach pop made by the end of the week (from homemade peach juice). Cherry too, if the juice lasts long enough.
Great speech Stoker!!! Societies don't often collapse overnight, area's might but not societies, they die from a thousand cuts and I believe those are planned and deliberate at present. You don't have to guess what is potentially going to happen, it already is. The problem with death by a thousand cuts is it has to be dragged out, if too much happens at once people will decisively react because there doesn't seem to be any chance things will go back to normal. Any sliver of hope is enough for most. As things stand it is not going back to normal. We all need to accept that and work with it. When things do go WROL you'll get the mobs, then the desperate, then something few mention, it's disease time. Cholera, Typhoid, vials disease, dysentery and many, many other's. Once sewage, clean water and refuse collection are gone in cities it gets bad quickly. Don't think out in the country you will escape because as soon as it hits people will leave the cities and bring whatever with them. Lot's of powdered bleach, rubber gloves and some strong shovels to go with the trash bags mentioned are no bad idea. All multi use items anyway.
If someone can't see the advantage of living in a truly rural area versus an urban environment then that is someone who probably deserves to find out the truth in a not so easy manner. From Chicagoland to the very rural Northwoods is how we moved 20 years ago and never looked back. What a peaceful life it is. Sincerely The old Northwoods RN
Awesome video I enjoyed your approach of these matters very insightful I'm not going to say what i'm doing or not doing but I will say that when the levy breaks it's going all the way next time just watch recent video's from inner city's and there telling you that if your not with us your against us so yeah keep your eyes open ..
I can't unload my lone wolf mentality so easy. I am extremely untrustful of people, I don't know many, the 3 I have don't know I'm a prepper, because frankly I've already assessed their value in a SHTF scenario and only one has something to bring to the table, in terms of long-term survival. The other 2 are weak links and liabilities and sorry, but, I'm not taking on the burden, the drain or the risk associated with them. Now I'm just deep-diving on the area and parcel of land that belong to the Family of 3 that I chose to keep, and working on a way to get there. THEY don't even know this yet. As for people in my area, I don't even know my neighbors' names. I certainly won't be giving away my position concerning plans & preps. I've prepped around a Bug-In situation but I know I need to work on the vehicular aspect in the event I absolutely MUST flee. Thank you for creating this. THIS is the kind of video I will listen to at least 2x a day, and again every night before going to sleep. Matter of fact I'm probably gonna add it to several of my playlists so it never gets lost. I'm currently on vacation with big plans for consolidation and revamping my preps and keeping this on a reel will serve to get me motivated and zealous to Get The Work Done! Thanks again so much, I extend wishes of wellness and blessing amongst all!
Probably the most important message is knowing your area, the freeways are designed to lock you in know every side road and in some cases unpaved way's ECT if UN lock downs happen how will you escape? Just a Sunday drive will give you a wealth of information . look for possible pinch points learn to avoid them keep a car distance from the one in front of you , make it a practice. When you drive always look for a way out Get your mind thinking be alert. We don't know when it can happen.
Best Content I’ve heard in a long time. I’d say to someone new to think tent camping on a micro level(Every ounce counts). Start there! You handled the rest! God Bless
Can you elaborate on "MICRO LEVEL CAMPING" ...is this similar to Ultralight Hiking ?? The Big 5's of prepper gear are : *Sleeping / Shelter* (Clothing ) *Self Defense / Protection* (physical fitness and weapons) *Water & Food* (fire and cooking) *Hygiene / FAK* & training *Navigation / Communications*
@@kan-zee well, I try to keep everything you mentioned below 64lbs. It’s a weight I can carry and keep on going. Now when you go from micro to macro add 4l of water, extra food, extra clothing etc. this is all based on the person and their abilities so my recommendation is think micro camping as a start.
Stoker, I hope this was a real eye opener for people. It is so important to train, network with like minded people, and be as self sufficient as possible. Something that I incorporate in my training, and maybe it is from my runnin and gunnin days, but I purposefully train in awful conditions. I think that if this is as good as it gets, then how much better will I be when the weather is nice. I really feel for people in cities. If the worst of the worst happens, a lot of people will not make it. I am fortunate where I am, and I never forget that. I do need a good commo guy, and a techie. I am learning some myself, but to use your words, no man is an island. I also want to add that I do not live my life in fear just waiting for the big one, but it is wise to be ready for the worst, cause you really never know. I think we humans have became entitled, and expect that because we inhabit this planet that we have some say if it decides to fall apart. We do not. It is indifferent, and does not care whether we are on it or not. On a side note, I tried the jungle "Stoker" ridgeline this past weekend, and it worked just great. I have decided to ready one in my quickie get home bag, and it is ready, and squared away. Thanks, brother for all you do. I hope our paths cross sometime. I like to align myself with worthy, and good people, and I do count you to be one. Thanks for what you do.
I've been thinking of the same bad weather training lately, for the last rainy week or so here in Maine. Thinking of it... You just lit a fire under my ass. I shouda been humping the boonies and camping. I don't wanna have all the stress of SHTF on top of me while I spend my first rainy or snowy days in the suck trying all this stuff. 🗽🇺🇸
@@jimketchum3169 I am glad you sent that message! Also, I hope you do start training that way, including shooting. It is awesome that it motivated you, but what else that's cool about it is in reading that it motivates me to keep going. I think we have to keep boosting each other up through communities like this one. Go hard, brother! None, but the brave.
@@brianmurphy6760 I'd really like to start a paintball club in my area, just random people, no money. Just fun and training in the sandpit. Yeah, in all weather. I'd also like to see preppers set up a network of areas around the country with a central point or even outskirts of a town where we all meet up in a SHTF scenario, or even meet-ups in these areas like the Bugout Weekend that just happened in Ohio once or twice a year. We need to get doing this stuff. It's too easy to get down when we're all so separated by the miles. Btw, I recently put an ebay engine on a bike I got at the town dump to putter around town on and save gas. I put a plank on a bicycle rack on the back and bolted a tote on top of that. Looks kinda funny but works good. I was halfway through the project and almost went in when it started raining, then I embraced the suck and got her done. 🤣 Stay strong, brother!
@@jimketchum3169 That sounds like a neat contraption, buddy. I agree that a big meet up is a great idea. We can all learn from each other. Strength in numbers. In this day, and age miles should not really matter at all that much. But, I am down for experiences like that. If you have the maps you can get all over this country without ever leaving the woods. That is pretty amazing, and a worthy cause for training, and navigating it. good stuff.
@@brianmurphy6760 We got a perfect sandpit nearby for paintball too, btw. The pit is actually 3 pits separated by woods and joined by lots of 4-wheeler trails going in and out, thick woods and thin woods, topography like a roller-coaster. It's where we'd be plinking if we hadn't gone boating. 🚣💥🐟🐟🐟
All solid pieces of advice. This kind of thing takes us out of our comfort zone, and none of us enjoys that. I don't consider anything under 96+ hours to be a true SHTF, if I can see that systems will likely be restored in 96h or less, I'm just going to ride it out. That said, I've been preparing and planning for some years. That which evades my attention is developing a group or network in my area. I will admit, I have some reservations about my neighbors. Not because they aren't trustworthy, but that they're complacent. If I reveal my status to them, I know full well they'll all come knocking, looking for me to provide everything they were too lazy to get themselves. It doesn't please me to say that, but I know it will happen. Still, I'm looking to find a few that can be trusted to prepare on their own. I will provide for children, to a point, but I know I will have to draw a line and stand firm, and that means I'll have to make examples of a few " neighbors ". Thanks for the video, it's always time well spent getting the lowdown from those who have been there.
True. I hve already told one or two neighbors about my prepping hoping they will follow. I need to move some of my stuff away just in case they turned on me.
@@tonygosbee3390 There are some of those folks everywhere you go. I've been prepping for years, and my friends would often say " I'm coming to your place ". I told them don't bother, and to get off their lazy asses and start getting ready.

My group's members keep 3 years on hand We're set well enough to trade a little. Have two blacksmiths, myself and another mechanic and two fairly skilled bowyers. All of us have some form of medical training either military or civil including a trauma nurse of 15 years. The only thing we don't have is a crystal ball. All but one of us works a 9-5(ish). We aren't sitting around a cave mouth sharping stakes, wanting the world to go to shit, because just like everyone else we like AC, ice-cream, and laughing at shit on youtube. We just don't particularly trust the current state of the union so to speak. SO keep the booger hooks off the bang switch, stay safe, play nice, and have fun.
Keep us informed. The average citizen doesnt have the resources to be up to date and have some notice a head of time. I appreciate your time and knowledge.
I'm late to this party. Great video! I live in one of the mentioned cities. 2 things... 1. You said it...the freeway will be a disaster. 2. Knowing where the best bicycle and/or footpaths that circumnavigate or avoid the endless homeless camps. We have multiple routes & possible contingency routes to get about if needed. Plan/train for the worst, hope it's not that bad.
Civil unrest due to currency collapse is the primary one for me. Grid down situation is another one, whether infrastructure decay, solar MCE or EMP. I think those scenarios are the most likely and the guaranteed martial law that would follow.
I am a 73 year old divorced female in a wheelchair in a City I don't know and have no friends or family. Thanks for letting me know I am not going to survive.

Unless you have a homestead with land with a water source. We will last as long as we are prepared for and than we will be stuck in the rat race fighting for your life. We live just out side of Denver. I see the people living all around us. I can tell you right now. Every person I see living on the street would not hesitate to go raid every house on the street. How many people have a place they could bug out to even if they could leave. I have been prepping but my boys and their friends think I’m an idiot.
Good content, and I would add: 1. Forget about 'heating your entire home'; just get the equivalent of a mountaineering expedition suit to keep your BODY warm. 2. 55 gal drum of water is great, until your unprepared neighbors find out about it. 3. The 5 gal of oats WILL taste great, when you get hungry enough. 4. Where I live, there are lots of acorns. I took it upon myself to not actually just learn, but to actually DO the process of making acorn flour. 5. For making a fire with a ferrochrome kit: Do you have the device where you can find it? Have you spend an hour TRYING it, learning what works and doesn't work, and why? I wonder how many people buy one and don't realize the lanthanum rod is coated with a thick layer of black paint that must be removed first. 6. Have you ever actually taken 30 minutes to dig a small pit in your back yard, place some yard clippings in the pit, spread a clear plastic sheet over it, place a rock in the center, and collect the morning dew in a can placed in the pit? 7. Never underestimate the value of street-smarts: I worked with I guy who spent a few years in prison. I was thoroughly blown away as he demonstrated how to turn an ordinary Bic lighter into an improvised weapon in less than a minute, with his bare hands... 8. Exterior security lighting for your home - make that solar lighting... 9. How are you emotionally in survival situations? Are you OK with camping in a tent in the snow? While we are on that subject, ask yourself what you might use to improvise a filter for water from melted snow? 10. If/when SHTF, you will want to be spending your time to learn survival; you will benefit the most from things you have already learned.
This is a practical message and for some of us, we might procrastinate because it feels like a journey of a thousand miles. Fit Hitting the Shan has already happened. No reason to think it won't happen again. Speaking for myself I find that taking the first step prompts me to think about the next step. Personally, I find a road map very helpful. Success breeds success and failure breeds failure. I'm talking about my own experience with success and failure. I prefer success. This video is a road map on steps to prepare for these events. Good video! Some things mentioned I already do and others are areas to check off the checklist. Good video and keep this content coming!

God bless.

Appreciate ya sharing your perspective!

The one thing about prepping is that it's better to start ten years to early, than to start one day late...

Thank you.
I sty in corona, what happen in San Bernardino? Did the riots make you want to buy a gun for protection?
A great prepping tip, don't live in California
The Foxfire Books are a great they cover how to make all kinds of things
You either have the best luck or the worst that's crazy
I am constantly replenishing my food stocks along with everything else I need because this is a way of living not just something you do once in a while it’s a way of living. Beautiful way of life. My late husband wanted to move to the City, God do I miss country life.
Absolutely true👏👏👏💯
I left the city and made a homestead in Missouri. I found a spot free from the big city, and all that comes with it. I have woods, my pond, and plenty of wildlife and fish.
One thing everyone can do for relatively cheaply is to learn how to fish. Learning the waterways in your area will also teach you the lay of the land in your area. It will provide you with a great reason to meet people and be in areas that aren't in your "normal circles". It will provide a source of protein and much needed calories if SHTF comes around.
Must also learn how to make a fire..
I fished my entire life... if u don't know how to fish. Don't think it's cheap or easy. It's not......
Yes your right on the money, of course each one goes deep in depth, moved from NY to Bama

Same to you and yours amigo!
Especially when it comes to choke points too 👀
Good stuff!
Best investment you can make is a .556 quadrail carbine, a night vision helmet, and learning hydroponics/gardening.
scratch that night vision and get thermal, also add encrypted comms to that list and many others my friend.
Outstanding! Excellent information brother!
A massive amount of med supplies will be crucial too...

I already know that my neighbors won't survive. Not a single one of them.
Damn.
Are you in a city, suburb or rural area? Is it because of age, lifestyle, mentality or something else?

Good thoughts brother.
I watched that episode by Shawn Ryan

@@paolohernandez8837 Your welcome!
The best video related to SHTF subject. God bless and keep the amazing work brother 🤙
That's alot of SHTF events, you got to work with.
@@kan-zee it's not as much as one would think, many preps cover more than one possible scenario.
Agreed!
Good video Stokermatic.
Love the chill straight to the point aspect of the video.
Loved the book suggestions, they seem so obvious but they're not something I hear mentioned very often.
First time viewing your content, very impressive/ominous, subscribed!
Well thought out Top. I would suggest adding precious metals to the cash put away. In addition, get into Ham radio.
The only precious metal to me is lead. Everything else will be worthless. Unless you survive it to barter.
Great video, what I do with my 16 year old son to prepare him for an un expected situation is that when we go a shopping mall I teach him the hallways behind the stores , where the deliveries are maid, I teach him this as an escape route in case of a shooting or who knows.
Great video Stoker
Thank you
Im starting to replenish.
My community is good but a couple ringers would be nice.
One of my big concerns is "flooders"
Desperate City folk looking to steal supplies.
Im 3 hours from 2 big ones but you never know when the caravans are coming.
As always thanks for what you do Sir!
And STAY STOKED
Bad azz video man, thank you.🙏🏽🤘🏽💪🏽🇺🇲
You are right about cash, after Katrina we did ok because we had it. There were a lot of folks that only had their plastic cards, including debit cards, that were shocked that no one would or could accept them for about a month. Heck, you had to wait in lines at the bank and show ID to withdraw any funds and it was usually limited to about $200 per person.
Direct and to the point. Thank you and God bless you and your family.
Excellent video. Very good points. When it comes to taking routes to and from work I try not to develop a pattern. I have multiple routes that I can take. The time difference is minimal by 5 minutes. I'm also always looking for difference routes. Especially since I work 1 and 1/2 hours from home.
Thank you Stoker! This was a very important video to watch twice or thrice. Saving this one for sure. Aloha 🤙🏽
I love your reply my husband and I are in same position better to have a little of something!
Good assessment dude glad others have been paying attention to current events too !!
I would say if SHTF if you're living in city you need to have a egress or safe house out side of it. Far away from it.
Truth.
I am in mid north Ontario Canada... we have a mag setup with 4 places to move to as a group
Thanks for sharing,, I have figured out what to do in my area... I think just like this...
Good stuff! Yeah, will be doing more, including an actual rehearsal of getting home and going through some urban survival techniques b

Sad but true. When Stoker said trash bags and duct tape, this is exactly what I was thinking of.
Seriously....
Agreed
Powdered bleach aka Pool Shock in a tightly sealed glass jar will make over 200 gallons of bleach.
If someone can't see the advantage of living in a truly rural area versus an urban environment then that is someone who probably deserves to find out the truth in a not so easy manner. From Chicagoland to the very rural Northwoods is how we moved 20 years ago and never looked back. What a peaceful life it is.

The Big 5's of prepper gear are :
*Sleeping / Shelter* (Clothing )
*Self Defense / Protection* (physical fitness and weapons)
*Water & Food* (fire and cooking)
*Hygiene / FAK* & training
*Navigation / Communications*
Great video! Great info! This is the first time I’ve come across ur channel. I subscribed! I’ll be watching more of your content. Thanks!

0:40 ....Double layered SHTF is when the Natural RURAL SHTF turns into an URBAN SHTF event...
Example = A Wild Fire , causes a massive evacuation ....40,ooo people evacuate the area, causes Car traffic jams , Accidents, and road rage.....People migrate and swarm into cities, causing stress on the cities resources, and crime rates increase.....Police arrest and over step their power and kill a citizen and protests start against the police and politicians for change....its a domino effect.
Example : My buddy evacuated the Alberta fires, he got a room in a hotel....he had all his ducks in a row..but...when he was coming back from a shopping trip , he saw there were two guys, trying to break into his room .. they got caught , and he learned that they wanted to steal his gear...They scoped him out in the lobby and saw he had all these expensive looking Maxpedition (greyman not tacticool) bags , when he checked in. They knew he had supplies they could trade for drugs.
2:26.... Same here...I went to the city, and I went into a store for less then 10 min, when i came out,...passenger window was smashed and door left ajar....and my $2grand bug out bag was gone,
I now have to lock my new bag down to the floor bar (newly installed) with a cable lock and cable zip tie all my zippers closed....they might cut the two shoulder straps , but , this time they will have to work for it.

EMT & NUCLEAR PLANT MELTDOWN
Unlikely, but potentially devastating!
So how’s your prepping going? It’s only a matter of getting a few things here and there.

Grid meltdown, months/years to recover
no comms, satelites
no internet, no banking, no gas, no food.

Good content, and I would add:

No reason to think it won't happen again. Speaking for myself I find that taking the first step prompts me to think about the next step. Personally, I find a road map very helpful. Success breeds success and failure breeds failure. I'm talking about my own experience with success and failure. I prefer success. This video is a road map on steps to prepare for these events. Good video! Some things mentioned I already do and others are areas to check off the checklist. Good video and keep this content coming!
Failure is only learning why things are done the way they are, if you're still walking, talking and breathing you didn't fail. You gained knowledge to pass on to others.
