  • This video shows the difference between the shrinkage and creep.
Shrinkage can be defined as the 'Volumetric change of concrete due to moisture loss without application of any external loads'. While creep can be defined as 'The structure deformation under constant stress'. There are different factors affecting the shrinkage and creep behaviour. For more details please watch full video.

Increase w/c increase shrinkage: this is only happening with drying shrinkage. In autogenous shrinkage and chemical shrinkage the situation is opposite. When there is a steep decrease in internal relative humidity

Dry shrinkage is after drying the concrye when loss of moisture occurs.. But plastic shrinkage is occurs after pour the concrete in plastic condition

I need your professional advise or opinion on a patio which I am seeing various anomalies six months after it was poured. Your input would be great appreciated. Here are the specs for the Patio. 48'x15'x 8" thick tapered to six inches on the sloped side. It supposed to be a 4000 psi concrete with fiber mesh, and 1/4" FRP rebar spaced at 24". The patio has developed numerous cracks everywhere and in every direction. I am seeing areas where the concrete is chipped off broken off and other areas where the concrete is crumbling. The control joints were cut at ten foot spands and depth of 3/8"to 1/2" max.

    Q galat padha rhe ho.
Galat padhane se accha hai mat he padao.
Relative humidity increase toh Shrinkage bhi increase.
