Personally I learned the hard way to clean my ears better since getting into earbuds 😂
Saw a video in which the doctor explains the skin in our ears has a unique and amazing 'conveyor' system that constantly pushes wax and any dirt etc out the entrance. So now as recommended I just keep the entrance clear. If we don't, plus constantly plug our ears for hours...
Doesn't take much to clean them, just a gentle rub with soapy fingertips then splash warm water at the outer ear canal every day when I shower. Zero wax on any of my tips or meshes.
Also helps maintain consistent sound quality 👍

Exactly, I don't understand the world and how literally nobody on the internet want to wash their ears and then talk as if it's impossible to not have wax in your earbuds.
The XM4s had a foam piece in the nozzles but Sony removed it with the XM5
The foam piece inside my xm4's just broke off and went further in 😂. Granted I did drop them a couple of times. Having them repaired as they have a manufacturing fault because I bought from the FIRST BATCH
In my ways he XM5 is a downgrade, where's the light bar gone? 😢
are you talking about the headphones? There's no light bar on the earbuds besides the case.@@forid200
Good tip, though the real issue is that despite their protective mesh, Sony cannot be bothered to provide decent, sound-isolating eartips with their new flagship buds. That’s why people rush for replacements or return the XM5s. So much for the best ANC on the market...
Wym?? The foam tips isolate significantly more sound that silicone. People replace them because they claim the foam is uncomfortable due to its seal and pressure
Fact is, SONY won’t make (Beige) replacement tips available, absolute disgrace
Yea, i just got a pair and im so disappointed in the ear tips. Noise cancellation is subpar, and these are very uncomfortable.
Happened with my XM4s. I thought the left headphone was broken, and it got me to buy new ones. The day before my new WH-1000XM5 arrived, I stuck a needle down there and managed to make it sound like they were brand new. Now I have two good headphones.. 🤷♂️
Just return the new ones and save money, they're not noticeably different in my opinion, but sleeker for sure
Just ordered mine and waiting for them to arrive. Thanks for the PSA as I would probably not notice that and then wonder at some point if they broke or what..
the mesh is now in the replaceable ear tips instead of the buds so I guess u have to use sony branded ones

The ones included have the mesh but most of the third party ones don't have it.

I really like XM5 but decision to completely remove mesh from Nozzle and put on eartips is a bit disappointing because as IEM guy I have many good and compatible eartips to play with but can't use them due to missing mesh... Original eartips are not even big enough to fit me properly (even the L size is just too small)...

Nothing beats Comply
Chargen pro Airfoam tips are the best ones out for the XM5, they are foam Tips with silicone on top and the micro mesh inside
Comply true grip pro has a protective sort of mesh. I bought CP360s but ended up returning them because they didn’t have a mesh and the XM5s didn’t have any mesh (built in the earfoam tips only)
Thank you sooooo much for the heads up. I have a pair of XM5s on the way and just learned about the lack of mesh today. I've sworn by comply tips for years and I've been fussing all day trying to figure out a different brand which included the mesh. So happy that Comply promptly responded to Sony's anti-competitive design choice.
Could you make a video showing which part is which? I'm afraid it's not clear enough to me. :(

I found the noise cancelling extremely disappointing. I bought the new Bose and wow what a difference.
This is my 2nd pair...I lost my 1st but then pair, ppl can't hear me when I'm talking and it's on and off
There IS mesh on XM5's. I've seen many reviews, and yes, they say that there is a mesh on those things.
XM4's didn't have those. Check 6 Month Later's reivew on this.
I Knew it I was right about how if there too much ear wax on your earbuds you will not hear that noise cancellation and good sound quality only if there is too much ear wax in your ear buds

No idea, I have the XM 4’s and my ranting at SONY to make spares available is wearing!
SONY have an arrogant, uninterested attitude, why in gods name can’t they make spares available?
I bouth a cheap sillicone set and it didnt have the mesh, now i am thinking of a diy, putting a smal mesh over the nozzle (like a condom) and sliding the silicone tips over it hoping they wil still stay seated. Now just have to think of a thin material to use as mesh. Any ideas?

Almost all earbuds have a mesh in the buds instead of the tip.
@@casse82 definitely not. Every pair (except for my AirPods Pro 2 gen) that I’ve had in the past did not have this kind of mesh.
What happen to the alexa what ever its called the ladies voice got these today no voice . thats says bluetooth connected battery fully charged has sony taken this off

i have an issue with my xm5, when i shake my head or walk heavily when im using noise cancellation, it makes a weird vibration and it is abit annoying? any help?
Try to be a bit more gentle with yourself. And when walking don't strike the ground with your heels
Just soak in warm soapy water that usually fixes the issue.👍😊
Are you saying you should soak your earbuds in warm soapy water? They are not waterproof you know... Either that, or you misunderstood what was said here. If you use TIPS that don't have a mesh with earBUDS that don't have a mesh, you'll end up with earwax in the earBUDS. You can't soak your earbuds. Or you can, but you shouldn't.

Maybe they shouldve used those 2 years to improve the ear tips rather than going backwards, these wf xm5 eartips are horrible

@@rich8305you keep bitching under every comment and don’t realize they have always made replacement tips and will do so again for these. I’ve been able to buy replacement tips for my xm4’s without problems. The xm5’s just came out a few months ago… you shouldn’t need new tips already.
