Thank you for addressing the road noise. My 2024 MDX is far too loud and I was hopeful that there was substantial improvement for 2025. From your review and others’, it doesn’t sound like it. Thank you again.
Hi Jill…We have a 2015 Acura MDX TECH Trim which we love, have had zero issues with less than 52k miles😊…we are looking to replace with a 2025 Advanced trim, no one seems to be reviewing this trim. Our interest are the additional safety features & new touchscreen. Really don’t need the extra bells & whistles of the aspec & type S. We love the MDX SH-AWD driving performance & the V6! Enjoyed your review👍🏼👍🏼
For the drive, we only had access to Type S and A-Spec Advance, which is why you aren't seeing reviews form any other trims. They'll likely come later as vehicles start hitting media fleets. I really liked the new touch screen - it's responsive and easy to reach. The safety tech is also smoothed out. I was very impressed with the improved adaptive cruise control.
Lots of useful info and comments. I expected you to make a comment about visibility over the touch screen. It seems to be sticking up too far on the dash. Also, as good a driving improvement the Type S is, an owner is still treated to the same black lacquer. They should at least do some faux wood trim in its place.
La voiture du jour! Nice thorough review. You might throw in some dimensions like length, width. Was interested in this SUV until I found out how big it is, just like the Mazda CX70, CX90, the GM ACADIA. Would it fit in your garage? 👍
Awesome suv and nothing is perfect as we are not perfect so not possible to make anything perfect. But I love my mdx for what it is, not what another vehicle is. And I like Trac pad more
@@Phocoena-o1y yes, it was a little quieter. I do have a written review posted on The Drive www.thedrive.com/car-reviews/2025-acura-mdx-first-drive-review
the problem with the MDX is visibility, because once your car is longer than 195 inches and the hood is flat and long, it cuts into your road visibility. i drove the 2023 Advance at the time it was new. Coming from the 2011 MDX, my MDX is a shorter vehicle and I was able to notice the lack of front visibility. While I am aware the MDX is a bif long and wide -heavy car. the new MDX in trims below the Type S, feel slow. My mdx from 2011 has 300HP with the 3.7, so its effortless acceleration and smooth shifting. The advance MDX felt slow when shifting since now the car has 10 speeds. I am not an engineer but if the MDX in 2011 had a 6 speed and it was a gas guzzler, how come now the car has 10 speeds and the car still a gas guzzler? and worst yet it feels slow?
I'm not sure which dynamic mode you were in, but the shifting map, torque curve and responsiveness are definitely different in Sport mode than it is in the normal or comfort modes. That said, it definitely drinks more gas when it's driven in sport mode. Also, the 2022-25 MDX is built on a truck platform so the hood and overall vehicle length is going to feel more trucklike than a large car or small SUV. At the end of the day, the 2025 Gen 4 MDX is less than 2" longer, 2" wider and 1/2" shorter height than the 2020 Gen 3 model, although it feels bigger inside and out.
Acura is to expensive....and on top of that they still add those ugly flat black plastic around the wheels....the front lower black parts where foglights are at, they are ugly to bulky😮 this suv isn't a big deal
I don’t like being critical of reviews but I don’t believe someone who doesn’t touch on the super handling awd but rather compares herself to a child is not an appropriate person to review a vehicle. No mention of the 10 speed transmission and how that feels in A-spec vs Type S. How was the torque vectoring when cornering? The MDX offers more towing than the better selling RDX - which is a main differentiator between the two. How well did the towing equipment work vs a competitor? Say something useful if you’re going to post a video - this is grade A Tom foolery

Test drove one today, the screen is not above the hood line and does not obstruct forward visibility.
What Chris says. From certain camera angles, it may looks like it sticks up pretty high, but it actually doesn't rise above the hood.
Hi Jill….One other question no one is talking about the reason for discontinuing of built in SiriusXM🧐🤨 Thanks
Just wanted to let you know you've inspired me to write a story about this!

Does mdx have low gear to drive down hill like another car ?

Ugh...Acura removed the 110V AC Outlet. Horrible cost cutting mistake!
No air vents in third row?

That's strange how the 4th Generation Honda Pilot has 3rd Row Vents and MDX doesn't.

Outrageous price. Gas guzzler and no hybrid. Sucks.. acura missed the people.. only for wealthy. Toyota is the way to go!!

Overpriced for Rich, wealthy..family.. not normal people. And it is not any better than a Toyota.. cheaper.
Are you unfamiliar with what "luxury" vehicle brands are? Ya, they aren't for "normal" people... that is kinda the point.
Work some overtime and then you can afford to buy one.🤪
