I had a vr80 and you have to break in the guns spring. Either 2-300 rounds or lock the action open for a month. And then go. Check out Montana Johns channel. He explains it very well.
I gotta check this out! I saw a WW2 vet talking about them wanting soldiers to volunteer to use flame throwers but he was the only one in his unit that volunteered because it’s not pretty. I’ve been wanting one ever since! They look like so much fun!
Love my VR80, yea it took a trip or two to the range to break it in. But as long as ya give it 1300+ fps shells, it shoots amazingly well, especially for the price point. Getting good mags can be tricky - not so much for feeding, but for ejection and insertion. It makes my day seeing the modern warrior poet himself using the majestic 19 round banana mag.
Lol i love the one handed flamethrower operation. Imagine seeing that and thinking your victory was assured now, but then he picks up the flamethrower, the terror would be complete.
Glad to see this type of video again John. I agree with the other videos you post, but I do miss seeing these shooting videos even if it's just playing around with a ridiculous gun you'd never use irl :) Hoping there are many more coming in the future! Merry Christmas!
Can’t speak on the Flame Thrower, but as for the VR80, I have had one for a little over a year and have not had an issue with it. However, the store that sold it to me also said not to run anything under 1300FPS in it. I have done so and have not had any issues with it. Haven’t used slugs with it so far, so can’t speak to whether that will be an issue. One of the best purchases in my opinion. Also, about six month into using it, I ran some 1200+FPS shells through it and it works fine.
If these are built on the same platform as other Turkish shotguns I've seen, there's tinkering that needs to be done with the gas system to get them to run birdshot reliably (a part needs to be flipped over somewhat similar to a Browning Auto 5) and they like to run wet, as in basically dripping. The high brass high velocity stuff tends to run no matter how it's configured.
I have a VR80, and discovered that drilling out the gas ports slightly greatly improved the reliability. Initial examination of the ports revealed burrs left from manufacturing, after enlarging them i polished the ports with a fine grit stone. Running a 22 round drum magazine it will mag dump in 4.6 seconds. 1200 FPS or better shells are a must with this gun.
Grrrunt to shoulder the weapon combo! 😂 Flame thrower falls to the ground,... "Not enough hands for this! Adapt and overcome,.. Ha! Ha!" 🤣😂🤣 Bang! Bang! One is a cool toy with little to no real range and the other will get you killed in a fire fight or home threat. Good Show of what NOT to buy this Christmas. 🤣😂🤣 John really had fun with this one!!! "SNEAK ATTACK!" 🤣😂🤣
The shotgun has a 250 round break in, and you need to put the light piston in if running trap loads. I broke mine in with 1475 fps 1 3/8 oz Kent and it will now run 1145 trap loads 100%
We refer to it as the poVeRty 80 in 3 gun. The preferred shotgun is the Vepr12 based Dissident arms and I’m hearing good things about the newer Gen12s. In honesty, a lot of guys can make their VR80s work but a lot of them are jam machines without proper tweaking and specific mag tuning.
Yeah the vr80 has a 500 round break-in after that they pretty much run pretty good if you wanted to run as absolute best look up tooth and nail Armory to get tuned magazines they also have 20 round drums
It took forever for my VR80 to run smooth. Seen a lot of people running them over the SAIGA and Benelli at a 3Gun competition in FL so I wanted to see what the fuss was all about. 200 rounds of heavy shot and slugs to get to be able to fire bird shot with no issues.
I have a VR 80 a and I have to agree, it does have a beak in period of about 200 rounds after you keep the bold locked to the rear for a while. After its all set in, it works quite well, just follow the directions. I do not have the flame thrower but I guess you can't have it all unless you are John! LOL
John, i have this shot gun, it does require some break in with the spring. i know what i did was to run the bolt w/o ammo prob 300 times or more b-4 shooting and i have excellent results. break it in and give it another try.
It needs a break in period of about 250 rounds using only ammo that is at around 1300fps to cycle properly. Then after it will usually cycle any ammo afterwards. I know because I have one lol I love it best shotgun I’ve owned.
I just got an image in an apocalyptic scenario rounds going back and forth both sides bunkered down enemy And out of left field in your corner gaze of your optic you see John squat running down range. Ohhhh ohhh with flame thrower and yells sneak attack!!!! Flames the pillbox 😂 then the whole thing breaks and falls apart he’s yelling “shit shit shit , got no testosterone!!!!”
I have the VR-80 it is quite fickle about ammo. However the manual states running 100-150 rounds of 00 Buck and bingo bobs your uncle. It still is very picky on what light loads it will and wont function with. I play around with high brass bird shot and it seems to do just fine. I ditched the stock because it was just goofy (like this video) and went with an Israeli arms ar-10 stock with a build in recoil spring and matching pistol grip.
There are many things wrong with that weapon; (1) fails to fire consistently, (2) fails to stay attached together, (3) flamethrower trigger is too far away to use practically, (4) it’s too bulky, (5) too noticeable. Note: It will get the operator killed if anyone really tried using it in a real firefight. Corrections: (1) The trigger should be a small button that can attach anywhere from the triggerguard, to the handgrip, (2) the fuel line should have ballistic shielding and should go over the shoulder, not under the arm where people can trip, with special attachments that breakaway if someone gets stuck in it, (3) make it less bulky, lighter, less noticeable, with a small tip like a welder has, not looking like a big fat triangular bulky thing, (4) …nevermind, i’ll stop here, I think you get the point.
It sucks that ppl do reviews on these vr80s before breaking them in, making them look like complete dog shit. Shoutout to the UA-camrs who waited to do a review AFTER the break in period! Respect to them!
Holy shit! This is one of the greatest guntuber videos I've seen in a while. It wouldn't have been nearly as awesome had that rig worked without fail. Get thing broken in and sorted out. I can't wait to see the progress. TESTOSTERONE! 🔥 🔥 🔥 😂😂😂
Freakin hilarious show John! 🤣🤣 Although it looks like I might have made the correct decision in ordering the Citadel Boss AR12 rather than buying that one...lol...hoping🙏
John: “I’m a protector, not a collector.”
Also John: “Check out my new flamethrower shotgun!”
Touché

Flamethrower is great for home defense.
@@WarriorPoetSociety We all get the collection itch from time to time, so it's good to know you're just like the rest of us! 😂
@@WarriorPoetSociety Swing by the Rock Island Armory booth at SHOT Show and ask for John McClain we can chat about the VR80
Let’s be honest, we come for the wisdom, but we stay for the wisdom…
However this goofy stuff is fun to see along the way.
Mrs. Poet was probably home praying John would come back without third-degree burns.
In the words of Kentucky Ballistics, “You just got jammed!”
Absolutely came here to acknowledge this fact! *bows*
This flamethrower has the same self-deconstruct feature as that shotgun he was running the other day.
"If you didn't like this video, I know how you voted" is such a hilarious line
“permission to unsubscribe granted”
shotgun flamethrower just missing the grenade launcher
I gotta check this out! I saw a WW2 vet talking about them wanting soldiers to volunteer to use flame throwers but he was the only one in his unit that volunteered because it’s not pretty. I’ve been wanting one ever since! They look like so much fun!
The 80's action theme music really brings the room together

Glad to see some fun. Good to not only have news/reports on national events
My son tells me I need a flamethrower, and I'm absolutely oestrogen driven. He'll freak out when I show him this!😆👌🏻

Funny one, keep up the good work gentlemen, and Merry Christmas!
For the 20 seconds when everything was working right, it was an awesome combo
I was looking for something more to carry into the woods with me during deer season. This has potential.😳
It will always fire the first shot!
Well… it is more

A realistic review! Love it.
Much Love and merry Christmas to the WPS Crew!
Grrrunt to shoulder the weapon combo! 😂
Flame thrower falls to the ground,... "Not enough hands for this! Adapt and overcome,.. Ha! Ha!" 🤣😂🤣 Bang! Bang!

Good Show of what NOT to buy this Christmas. 🤣😂🤣 John really had fun with this one!!! "SNEAK ATTACK!" 🤣😂🤣
Reminds me of a 1989 ghost busters spoof
My son and I got a good laugh while watching this and wrapping presents, thanks.
Strong "Aliens" vibes from John "Ripley" Lovell in this video.
"Gas leak!"
But no bursting into flames. Well done, sir.
hilarious ending, love it!
The end where you are just holding all your items awkwardly reminds me of the army
strong start to the year, John
Great for clearing the underbrush 😊
Just needed a sportsman's guide ad, and it would have been perfect.
Love the flame thrower. System needs work of course 😂😂😂
"BOOM! TESTOSTERONE!" Every guy watching this felt that in their bones
Dang John I was hoping your setup would run. The KISS principal comes to mind.
Probably one of the most craptastic amazing platforms ever! I wants one precious!

I broke mine in with 1475 fps 1 3/8 oz Kent and it will now run 1145 trap loads 100%
The first target down by fire, all I can think of is he reminds me of Hank Scorpio from the Simpsons 🤣🤣🤣
As Marvin Martian would say, when something went wrong..."Well.....back to the old drawing board."
It took me just the title to subscribe! a Flame Throwing VR80 is on the level of Sharks with Lasers!
Awesome John!!

Well that was fun 😂
Love the soundtrack!! I soooo wanted that to be a good gun.
@3:16 & @4:49 - Damn that sux
I think the 12 year old in John came out when using that flame thrower, look like fun. Lol
John's new home defense setup?
Glad you survived the test
I laughed way to hard when the flame thrower fell off. haha
At least the flamethrower didn't land on the button when it fell off.
Damn. I see a lot of things that look way dangerous !!
Me: That thing looks ridiculous!
Also me: I wonder if my LGS has that...
Omg greatest video I've seen today. Made me laugh so hard everytime the flamethrower fell off lol.

I got a VR80 several yrs ago, I love it!
Love you brother. GOD bless and guide you and the family. MERRY CHRISTMAS
Im laughing so hard I started crying. Great video.
Oh, the possibilities... a flame thrower on a turret on top of a Jeep. H'mmm...🤔👍🏻
I have a VR 80 a and I have to agree, it does have a beak in period of about 200 rounds after you keep the bold locked to the rear for a while. After its all set in, it works quite well, just follow the directions. I do not have the flame thrower but I guess you can't have it all unless you are John! LOL
There should be an ACME sticker on it with WIley Coyote as the spokesman
Well Well..............I would be willin to tweek it a bit!
Screaming "Testosterone!" While firing a flamethrower wildly into the air.
What a day to be a War Poet 😆
Now I know what my next gun won't be 😂
Lmao thanks john, merry christmas.
Jamming may be due to that banana collector magazine you're running. It can create timing issues with ejection/feeding overlap.
John,
i have this shot gun, it does require some break in with the spring. i know what i did was to run the bolt w/o ammo prob 300 times or more b-4 shooting and i have excellent results. break it in and give it another try.
This was a priceless video. Thanks for the laughs John!
Quick Release Flame Thrower!
John your such a flamer!
I have the full size pulsefire. Holy cow so much fun
I have a similar shotty from turkey also...when not in use keep the bolt locked back and run black aces tactical and it will function well...
It needs a break in period of about 250 rounds using only ammo that is at around 1300fps to cycle properly. Then after it will usually cycle any ammo afterwards. I know because I have one lol I love it best shotgun I’ve owned.

You are hilarious, man! TESTOSTERONE!!!! Thanks for a very humorous video! Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you and your family!
you have to get a VRF14. I have one and its awesome for home defense. oh, And its made in America
This thing (once the issues are fixed) could give a run for his money to a m44 mosin nagant, room clearing wise.
As someone who owns the vr-80 and the vr-82, they have a very long break in period, and they are extremely picky with what ammo they’ll run
Takin "dik on the stick" to a different level 😂 4:05
I guess that's why there's a flamethrower incase of jamming

Yes
John that thing looks like you beat up a storm trooper and stole it
RLTW
DUSTOFF 47
Is that the shipping bumper still on the charging handle? Lol
Awesoooooome! Great video brother, keep em’ coming… BOOM TESTOSTERONE!!! 🔥
Your new home defense weapon!!
2 Words: JTS AK12. Runs everything.
So glad you did this! Maybe just mount the flame thrower to your off hand…
What do you call a 12th century monk with a flamethrower?
A friar-fighter.
VR80 takes a lot of oil but then it runs great.
"You can't handle testosterone like this . . . So um you may unsubscribe" -Mr Poet.
Lol its like something out of the alien movies
It sucks that ppl do reviews on these vr80s before breaking them in, making them look like complete dog shit. Shoutout to the UA-camrs who waited to do a review AFTER the break in period! Respect to them!
I play video games. I love this set up. What if your tank gets hit though?!
Just glad ....I know the thing.
Most ridiculous zombie load out I’ve ever seen. I love it.
So what you're saying is I should buy one of these for home defense?
