I’m a 70 year old retired farmer and I have to say this video was timely if not your best. That last one, you stomped on my toes man and so did your buddy! This one is going on my playlist. Thanks John!!
John your channel has slowly over time become one of my favorites. Your videos are always entertaining as a fellow believer you’re a strong character that we need in this day and age.
Mr. Lovell, thank you for this and all the other videos of wise council that you put out. I very much appreciate them as much, if not more than the videos of tutelage on prepared citizen/minuteman/sheepdog experience that you give to us. And to Ben, thank you for the words of wisdom('A man wrapped up in himself is a small package.') WOW. Thank you both.
Attitude is a massive thing. I lately found myself contemplating how many things i can be grateful for in my life. Even if I have things that are not good, not easy, I can be grateful for what I have and had, my experiences in life. When you feel gratitude you feel like you have not missed out on life, and that puts the mind at such ease. Negativity is a literal toxin, throw it far far away.
You have totally nailed every point in this for me. Stuff I’ve already worked on and things I need to work on. For the record you are a massive influence in my life. I appreciate you so much!
Watching this made me feel pretty good. Ive been working on making these changes in my life. Recently got a new home. On a meal plan and going to the gym 4 times a week. Spending more time with my kids and wife. And going to church regularly and seeking christ. I definitely have some stuff here i still need to work on but its a proccess. Thanks for the tips John. Been so busy i need to make time to train though
I tend to overuse UA-cam. It's great for staying current, learning about shooting, hunting, fishing and being entertained. I have little kids and work so I don't always have time to make it out fishing for long or time at the range. But I do have the ability to take little pockets of time to do this and it's free
Hey John, I know you probably won't see this at all, but I just wanted to say thank you. Thank you for being the man you are and sharing your wisdom, humor, and experiences with us all. I've been watching your content since I turned 21 and started carrying my first blaster back in 2021. You've not only helped me grow as a CCW holder, but as a man, and a Warrior Poet. This video in particular has hit a lot of points that relate to my personal life and struggles. I definitely look up to you as I never had much of a father figure in my life. You are the prime example of the man I want to be in life. So thank you, again, for all you do. God Bless you and your family. Much love brother. 🙏🫶✌️
I agree with a lot of this but I think the biggest thing is moderation. Gaming, watching videos, scrolling, etc isn't inherently bad but if done to an excess THEN it is wasting time and can negatively affect your life. I myself am a gamer and do play quite a lot of hours of gaming but it is usually late nights when I have nothing going on or nothing to do. I don't see that as a negative, it's a way to destress, unwind, and have some fun. However, if you do these things IN PLACE of things you should/need to be doing then that is detracting from your life. Love your videos John and would love to have a conversation with you someday.
Screen time-in whatever form-carries a heavy opportunity cost. It’s not just that can crowd out necessities. You’re giving up time for recreation or relationships or personal development that would be way more valuable.
@@scottboyce Wrong. Exactly what you said applies to time spent reading books, or almost any other form of recreation. Almost everything you do in life, someone like you can come along and make an argument that there is probably something even better you **could** be doing. There is time enough for balance and moderation in all things. What you are assuming is that the person who is gaming hasn't already spent quality time with his family, or on personal development, which says more about your prejudicial view of others than anything. One can watch a movie, or play a video game with friends, while also consistently spending time with family and growing in life.

I've been watching your channel for a while now, and this is really the first time I've commented on anything in a long time. I greatly appreciate the content you have put out. When I had my daughter, my first child, I began looking to your channel for wise counsel on firearms and really the core of what you stand for; the warrior poet way. Now, being 24 with 3 children I am overwhelmingly greatful for the content you put out because in the world we live in now we need many more men like you leading from the front. And so, from a man who has struggled through much, I thank you for being a guide in these difficult times. Everything you do and say points right back to Christ.
Wasting time/ procrastinating hits me hugely as I'm sure it does for others. I get home from work, know I have to do this or that but say "hey, I work 10 hour days outside in Arizona.
