      The car doesn't even need to be small to have fun. I currently own a 10th gen accord with a 6mt and it's a blast. I even used to own a 2000 isuzu rodeo with a v6 and 5mt. Also a blast. My brother in law has an old m5 with a 6 speed and I don't even need to let you know how fun that one is. It's just the manual alone that makes it fun.

      I'm one of the people friends see as the "annoying manual guy" probably, but to me it's so much fun. I'm from Europe, so that's all I've grown to know, so even in the US my cars were all manuals.
      Even a diesel people mover Transit in Europe was fun to drive thanks for the stick shift. Had it been an automatic, I would've hated every single mile of that.

      @@richardnavratil9661 I'm the annoying manual guy in my group too. I've owned 13 cars and several motorcycles. All my cars were manual except two. One was because it was a hybrid and didn't come in manual and the other was a release series scion that I really wanted and the last one in my state was an automatic. Other then that, all manuals. My daily driver is an 18 Accord Sport 6mt.

      aluisious because your average person takes relaxed shifts and the revs not dropping immediately helps smoothen it out. Especially if you are a new manual driver or just not used to the car. For example the problem they have in the video is when they are ripping gears. The car isn't designed to do that. Also this is most definitely not a sports car, just a normal Sentra lol

    We've had our 2021 Sentra SR Manual since last week. One thing I've learned on my own is the car has an Eco button that stops the rev hang. It keeps the RPMs down, thus making the car react like a "normal" manual. The drive quality and fun is even better with that Eco button on! Go figure.

    Recently got a 21 Manual SR, The standard equipment and interior feels so premium in comparison with its competitors, the manual is lots of fun and it does not feel as slow as the cvt I test drove. The rev hang isn't too noticeable as long as you're not flooring it in every gear. The handling is amazing for a fwd car, makes this car tons of fun on twisty roads. If you are considering this car in manual GET IT. You won't regret it its amazing for the price super happy with mine!

The alternative is abusing your gearbox, but then you'll literally pay for it with more maintenance...

    A manual with adaptive cruise?!? You guys have to do a video on that! Does it come to a full stop? And do you clutch in and it brakes itself? Does the system kick you out of a gear if it is too low or high? What is the lowest speed that adaptive cruise can engage? Does it work in all gears except R? What if you are to high gear and your go up a steep hill...does it stall? So many questions!

    • @xfiringsquadx
      @xfiringsquadx 3 роки тому +5

      I don't know the actual answers to your questions however I do own a 2018 Accord that is 6 speed manual with adaptive cruise. All those same thoughts went through my head when I was buying it and honestly, after two years I still don't know what happens in those cases because it never comes up. I only use my cruise when I'm on the freeway and anytime I've needed to slow down lower than about 45 (about the slowest you want to be going in 6th), I'm already using my brakes and pressing in my clutch. That's the same thing I do when I drive automatics with adaptive cruise (minus the clutch part). If it's a major slow down, I'm using my brakes and not relying on sensors for that. I can tell you I did try it in 5th and it worked but there wasn't much reason to cruise in 5th. As far as steep hills, 6th gear has been enough for me so I've yet to be in a situation where it would need to downshift. However, if I'm in a hilly area, I rarely use cruise control because it's not economic or saving me gas in those instances. Adaptive cruise on a manual is refreshingly less complicated than you'd assume.
      Edit: According to my manual, I can set cruise in any gear as long as my speed is above 15mph.

    I just bought one of these new. Lasted all of 24 hours before the power steering stopped working......I put maybe 400 km on it and it was very nice and ridiculously good on fuel. I wasn't pushing it hard and didn't really notice the rev hang that much but my previous vehicle was a 2016 Outback with the 6 speed which has a comical amount of rev hang. It was impossible to shift smoothly out of first gear as a result. Clutch went at 70k (I bought it used) which I suspect is the result of a novice driver and rev hang which would have been exaggerated by the all wheel drive. I've only ever replaced one clutch and it was after 400k km so I'm guessing it has nothing to do with me. I'm hoping the Sentra is good to me when I get it back but it made me realize how much nicer of a car it is than the rental Forte I have currently.
