My favorite part is when the Roadrailer with the Conrail SD60M blew by the 3001. Also, I like all the ducks wandering around! What was your favorite part?

I miss the good old days of Conrail SD60Ms and I's. All of the Leslies and all the different power. I miss that so much. Thank you for the amazing footage you have and bring back the memories!

As a UK railfan that's into US model railroads, I just love all of your very descriptive Videos of how switching happens in the States.. I find the local trips serving customers along the way to be far more interesting that the main line long haul ones with hundreds of cars. Please keep this sort of video coming. Many thanks.

      Lo mismo para mi.
      Que movimientos tan complejos
      con dos locomotoras. Estoy sorprendido
Yo no entendía pero gracias por describir los movimientos que hacen allá. Ahora entiendo el por que. Gracias de nuevo
Acá en México no hacen esos movimientos ya que normalmente no hay dos vías principales como alla.
      Saludos

Good to see shunting operations. Like the details of what's going on.

Thanks for providing details and diagrams in your videos. It helps so much for someone new to railroading like me. It helps to know what was happening. Great video and videos Ive watched so far. Happy railfanning! - Drew

Nice seeing a place familiar to me. Lebanon Seaboard is just down the road from the R&L terminal, which I run in and out of fairly frequently. However, I usually hit the gate about 5 AM.

Great catch with that High-hood GP38-2! Seems like push-pull is quite common up there in the NE.

They are because there are not a lot of places to run around the train. This place has ample room, as we saw with the second train, but more often than not H31 runs with an engine on the front and rear since they switch two-three places WB, then two-three more places EB on the return to Reading. Thanks for watching and commenting!

I miss seeing Big Blue on the rails here in Ohio. I grew up with two sets of mainline tracks pretty much in my back yard. I haven't seen a Conrail marked locomotive since NFS took over. There was actually an accident where a train coming from Alliance had a wheel lock up on a boxcar and it snapped causing a number of cars to derail and a locomotive caught fire. It happened in Salem. Quite a scene for a town of only 13,000.

God I would give just about anything to go back in time to even see a triple crown trailer stickered let alone a CR unit in paint and a roadrailer.

Can you please tell me what time New Holland Local leaves Lancaster during weekdays? I think it’s the day local H28. I want to trek out there and video his activities. Thanks

My understanding is the crew currently goes on duty around 8-9 AM but they pick up from where they left off the shift before, so they could be anywhere between Lancaster and New Holland when going on duty. It's really luck of the draw and trial and error when trying to catch them.

Ok thanks. I’m on one of the 611 photo charters. I may video Amtrak as well as NS Harrisburg Line. I know mornings are busy on that. Hit and miss in afternoon.

Are you near Gettysburg? I’m going to be down that way Thanksgiving weekend. Any good spots near there?

    • @CentralPennRailProductions
      @CentralPennRailProductions  5 років тому +1

It's about an hour and a half to two hours away from me. I really haven't spent much time railfanning there, but there is a CSX local on the Hanover Sub as well as the Gettysburg & Northern Railroad between Gettysburg and Mt. Holly Springs. Not sure what time of day they run though.

The H24 local (which I still have to upload those videos) that works Derry Road and West Hershey. Then all the trains on the Harrisburg Line.

With a locomotive on each end of the train, are there 2 crews? Or does the crew switch locomotives when they head back?
