As a detailer I can say that when he sprayed the wd40 on his car it began to eat the clear coat. And that black on his rag was his paint coming off, much more rubbing and you would have seen primer! Don't do this or you will have to go to a body shop and get it painted. When he could have had it wet sanded, and buffed. Then waxed over and it would all be gone
***** jesus man you don't have to insult, being ignorant and making mistakes its wonderful it means that your can learn something new, i can see that you made a little mistake too, cheers
It doesn't "fix" it. It temporarily conceals it. I've been an automotive detailer for a while, and have used WD 40 in the past. I can tell you that WD40 has similar oily properties to wax, in the slightest of ways. If you have scratches that are extremely light, going over them with wax will seem to make them dissapear. In reality, you are simply filling in the scratches in the clearcoat with the wax, and after a few washes / rain, the scratches will reappear. This is essentially doing the same thing - if the scratches are very light, the oily, almost wax-like properties of WD40 will fill them in and temporarily conceal them. Now to permanently get rid of scratches you need the right tools, compound, and polish, to actually remove the top most layer of clearcoat and smooth it out.
RSH21 i was saying after a carwash, if they return, just do it again. However depending on the car, it may not matter if you do, as this is worth it to do, more than repainting. Also to note, i dont think wd40 has any kind of bad things or chemicals in it anyways, that will harm paint. But i guess if anything, maybe he could try to use the pledge shine stuff, perhaps it will have the same effect, not to mention it should be more safe than anything else.

You must not be a detailer then, it's not just the wd-40 that's bad for the paint. We'll save that discussion though. Just the way he was rubbing the car with a paper towel is horrible!! Not to mention rubbing with tons of pressure in every possible direction. That right there added tons of scratches, once that wd40 is gone in a week it's going to look worse. 100% no doubt.
***** he rubbed his paint with a paper towel and probably did not wash it properly before even doing this... guarantee he put scratches in his paint. Why do you assume im not a detailer?
This is an old trick people often use before trading in a vehicle. After a while, the WD40 will evaporate and the scratches will still be there. It may remove paint residual but it's never going to fill any damage or deep scratches, especially if they go deep into the clear coat. Doing this the right way doesn't take a whole lot of time.
A friend of mine was in the navy and did a tour of the Mediteranian sea. There were also Russian ships that were using the same ports. The first few times they were in port together they yelled insults at each other and got in fist fights when they went on shore leave. Then after several times of that a group of both sides decided it was getting old and had some beers together and talked to each other and made new friends.
People please dontndo this!!! That black on the towel was his paint being stripped off. That white strips are just paint exchange, you can buy a compound from any auto shop. If it's swirls or real scratches you just need to buff it and polish it. Wd40 is usedbto break and protect from rust, do you really wanna spray itnon your soft pain!?
So you're saying that little amount of WD-40 broke through the clear coat and was already removing the paint? Wow, why was I bothering with paint thinners and sandpaper to strip paint... from now on I'll just use WD-40! Except I won't... cuz that didn't strip his paint...
Cory Day W The scratches, if the depth go through the clear coat, would give access to the paint underneath. That stuff on the towel/paper is only the paint that was broken down from within the scratches, and probably a fair bit off dirt and petrol/oil soot. Yes, the WD-40 is also damaging the clear coat heavily, but that cannot be seen on whatever he is smearing it around with. If the WD-40 had actually removed all of the clear coat and exposed the underlying paint, there would have been a whole lot more paint visible on the towel. I am definitely not advocating the use of WD-40 as a scratch "remover", but I think I made that clear enough haha :D There is no way in hell I would put WD-40, or paint thinner for that matter, anywhere near my BMW.
weyderwarr You are aware that WD40 is a lubricant and not a solvent right? This isn't even a matter of expertise (as I am a mechanic) but a mere education in chemistry. What you have said holds no basis in facts. WD-40's mixture is of hydrocarbons, lubricants and compressed carbon dioxide. None of which have any volatile or physical chemical reaction to solvent paints which is what goes on cars to begin with. As for being a scratch remover, this can only work in a few ways. If the scratch you have is actually just residue left over from something having slid across your paint, then WD-40 is a great way to get it to remove from your paint without harming your paint. The lubricant will saturate the micro holes between the residue and your paint and help you to remove it. If however the scratch is actually in the paint, Then all that WD-40 does is fill in the scratch and temporarily makes it look good. (a good idea for those selling a car that has scratches in it is to WD-40 your car and then take pictures.) However when the WD-40 dries out completely, the scratch will come back. It is simply a band-aid for real deep scratches that are through the clear coat. You can look up the WD-40 website and it has a PDF file of over 4000 uses one of them being paint rub removal as well as car non-paint harming and they stand behind those claims. If you use WD-40 on a car that has a decent paint job and it ruins the paint, WD-40 will have to reimburse you for you purchase and compensate you for something that did not work as it was claimed to. Now please go educate yourself and stop being such a annoying nay-saying chliched BWM owner. Just because you have an expensive car doesn't mean you know shit about cars. Don't act like the rest of the BMW clowns. SMDH
its not comming of. you silly goose. its just oily so it appears to be gone. but leave that for acouple weeks fore the WD40 to go away and youll see the scratches again
Yah .. You are right .. Also this w40 is not good .. Its like oil .. So the color of the car will change after some time .. And as you said after some time you will see that crack again .. Actuly it doesnt go still in the body ..
exactly... oil just goes in scratch and WD40 is pushing out any dirt! And it looks better.. but all what you did is cleaned all dirt off. Just take some oil and wipe on plastic, it will look better.. But you dont fix anything...
I agree. I'd like to see the car after a week or so since I believe the WD-40 only temporarily filled the scratches, thus making it appear to remove them. I believe WD-40's main ingredient is fish oil, so how could it remove scratches? Paint transfer, maybe, but remove the scratches? I doubt it.
There should be a "Gadjix Test" version of this where other methods are tried. I would love that. CRH, I'm a huge fan, and I love your dogs, especially Yuka.
This trick is so incredible, I hit a tree last week and bought a case of WD-40 and just sprayed it all over the damage and the car looks like new. This not only takes out scratches it removed dents.....amazing.
+Jonathan Vandagriff this is for a person with an older car that doesn't want to spend money on something that goes down in value. is it perfect, well no. did it make look way better without getting ripped off at some halfass detail shop, yes. Who cares dude it's not a show car. to me a car is just a tool I just use it. I put my money into something that matters such as home improvements.
Dr. Seymour Butts but he didn't make it better or fix it. the scratches will not only come back after the car is washed, he will see the new scratches he added

***** lol yeah. I wouldn't be surprised if idiots are trying it though. BTW steel wool.. exactly what it means. Think of it as a metal dish washer sponge.
There is a lot of scratch removing creams in the market that are much more effective than the WD-40 which is a very good rust removing and lubricating agent
Ok I watch your vids but I know the vett and the boss are not yours you for got to take the companies tags off :) I use to know a guy that cleaned General Motors car and he got to take home any car for 1 day
The Boss is gone and now what resides in my garage is a 2014 C7 convertible and a 2015 Mustang GT. I can't help it if you don't believe me, sheesh. Want me to make a new video? Maybe I will..
BigSmoke502 because it is BAD for the paint... While WD40 by itself wont harm modern paint, it will do 2 things, #1 collect dust and #2 stain paint over time in sunlight. WD40 is an Oil and with all Oils it will cling to dust and look worse and even get on other areas of the car that is no bad and scratch that area too. Best thing is a simple 2000 grit wet sand and polish and wax, it will be a much better job and last for months.
EliteGeeks you can just use paint cutter, all this is is the white paint off the car he contacted. no need to use sand paper as it will take off more paint than is needed.
WD-40 will cover-up the scratches indeed. BUT it won't last that long so the scratch will reappear. A car wax will work better, will last up to 9 months.
Now I know why scratches shows up on a used car after a couple of washes. Thanks this was very helpful I will use this technique for when i get ready to trade my car in. RIGHT BACK AT YA CAR DEALERS. :-)
I think it was paint exchange or powder from concrete or whatever he hit, instead of removing scratches its basically just cleaning it, but still those marks don't simply wash off so the hack is worth knowing
Aaron Johnson again, he probably isn't fixing actual scratches just cleaning off residue left from the other object he hit, WD 40 will not fill in scratches just polish out dirt which is what he's doing. If thats what you need done then yes the color makes no difference. But if you have actual scratches this wont remove them. Just rub your hand over it, if it is an indention then the paint is gone and its a scratch but if the mark is raised then its residue and this will help. It's also entirely possible the residue is over a scratch so the WD 40 will fix one but not the other, but the scratches will be less noticeable....
+Joddyman21 Thanks, but I'm tempted to just use G3 and various mop heads to achieve a finer finish, because this compound has particles that diminish to become a finer compound and it produces high gloss results by itself. Why use G7 and 10?
+Joddyman21 Yep I see the reason for G7 and 10, thank you. Maybe if people saw more cars with nice paint jobs, then people would want it instead of just the standard. There are a lot of dented and scratched up cars out there, that I and others think as long as it's ok, it's good enough.

***** lol yeah. I wouldn't be surprised if idiots are trying it though. BTW steel wool.. exactly what it means. Think of it as a metal dish washer sponge.
***** I consider myself to be more of a jester than a troll, because I'm not going to argue a point I meant as a joke. Close observation though.
wow i actually believed you for a lil bit then i started thinking XD BAD IDEA
believe it or not it will take scratches out of chrome like chrome bumpers and stuff, it is quite amazing really...
0000 grit steel wool actually does just that. It's used on windshields too.
You can also try transmission fluid (it's oily) to add "shine" to your car and hide scratches.
Thanks bro. Very informational video. Keep up the good work. 👏
wash it and the scratches are back again 👍
wd40 is good for removing fresh road pavement of your paint if you some how for some reason end up driving on new road to early to soon.
will dubbel ew d forty remove wrinkles too? Does it make wodka taste better?
There is a lot of scratch removing creams in the market that are much more effective than the WD-40 which is a very good rust removing and lubricating agent
I'm going to try this on my Bugatti Veyron
First off your a kid and 2nd you don't have 2,500,000... And if you did you would repainted it not be cheap :)
You have no idea who I am. Why don't you look at my videos and then see for yourself. My comment on was simply a joke.
Ok stop trying to show off like any body believes u are cares anyway so stoping dreaming
Does this work on smashed windows
No
This won't work, you need sticky tape for broken windows...
you'd need to be good at puzzles if you wanna fix a smashed window
I hope so
just turn it off and back on again
I'd do this before I used a buffer and light compounding polish. Nice video.
Sprinkle...a bunch? More like soak! Great video...thanks for sharing.
No scratches removed. If any you removed some paint that was left from the scrape.
It covers them temporarily
Nobody try this please,
Why
EliteGeeks An even easier fix is to lightly spray it with a mist coat of paint.
if you get some oxidation on it, it will peel worse. needs to be a 2 part paint to really be done right and sanded to remove oxidation.
Omg thanks so much russian hacker... I bumped my parents van in a yellow pole and cleaned up the yellow spot on the van

Rulof Fai da Te i
Rulof...? cosa ci fai qui...
do you have dashcam video of this accident? 😮
Why cuz he is Russian? And btw dash cam points forward he hit some one with his back bumper so....... you wouldn't see anything
fishfind3000 some have one on front and the back
fishfind3000 Good job douche bagging a harmless question.
You don't need dashcam in America.
All Russians do.
Which is the good swirl remover? Turtle or merguiar?
All I hear is "this is the Russian space station" 😂😂😂
jamvan2k “You touch NOTHING!”
Patrick Rutowski “bunch of cowboys” 🤣🤣
WD40 made my wife hot again... Cheers magicman
WD40 helped me with my acne problem... Thanx russian guy....
First Last ?
+Garth Johns Is your wife a scratched car ???
+David Leblanc no mate, but crazy enough I used WD40 on my fat dog and it turned it into a cat. Thanks again crazy Russian guy
XD
WD40 just whitened my teeth! In Just 1 spray! Thanks magic russian man!
Removing scratches with minimum paint thinning & just making the locally scratched area clean & shiny are two very different things.
WD-40 will cover-up the scratches indeed. BUT it won't last that long so the scratch will reappear. A car wax will work better, will last up to 9 months.
I just find a new hobby..
reading all the comment is pretty funny...
:-)
Lol me to
:-) you too
;-)
D:
I've been following your channel for awhile now. And I've always wondered...
If safety is number 1 priority then what is number 2 priority?
It has to be the russian way to do it.
If safety is number one priority why is he wearing ray ban sunglasses??????!
juan mireles It is not sunglasses moron it is safety glasses.
Keeping his fake russian accent.
Johnny Rocket Being an idiot like you. Oh no, he isn't.
That's great! Can we use it in any color car?
It works if you need sell car next 40 min. Otherwise this dud have no idea what hi is talking about...Y will get same effect with any oil...
Now I know why scratches shows up on a used car after a couple of washes. Thanks this was very helpful I will use this technique for when i get ready to trade my car in. RIGHT BACK AT YA CAR DEALERS. :-)
this is a temporary fix once the wd40 dries the scratches will reappear
and will chip the paint if he didn't rinse it after wards
No, because they aren't scratch's, all's he did was remove some paint off of his car.
Moneybagzsz The paper towel he used probably scratched the clear coat.
“Refix” it.....I love it!!!!!
He hasn't changed his intro in 5 years, lol
Can it fix a bullet holes?
no
Chief Keef the type to say something like that.
that stupid question that you say hahahahahaha
maybe it can fix some assholes..lol
HAHAHAHHAHAHHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHHA
Won't that stuff destroy the paint?
Would it be safe to use this on a small scratch on the passenger door in the middle ?
good video and the guy sounds like a meerkat
Using a paper towel probably increased the amount of scratches. Good luck with all the dirt sticking to that oil.
fail. they come back when oil goes away. but this guy is cool
I think you meant ... this guy is tool
Man I have just tried and it works fantastic job thanks for the video
Man this is cool. I tried today with a WD40 to remove some surface scratches from a Vectra and worked :) So I will buy a 400ml one :))
Make a follow-up video to this, so we can see how well it actually worked. After few weeks you should see if it actually did anything.
For the love of god, dont try this.
And he's using a paper towel to wipe off the stuff.... Yikes
you cant see the scratches over the new ones from this!
***** Why????
gingercarol it'll add more scratches to the paint and will damage your cars paint also
gingercarol It will damage your paint.
So if I have a small wound can I get that from the clinic?
My scratches haven't come back. I've tried it myself! I love wd-40!
Even when we wash our car ? Please give me a respon 😗 i just scratch my dad car today 😓
I'm curious if those are actual scratches, or just an exchange of paint from whatever was hit.
Yeah true! WD40 aint gonna paint it for you again is it?!
I think it was paint exchange or powder from concrete or whatever he hit, instead of removing scratches its basically just cleaning it, but still those marks don't simply wash off so the hack is worth knowing
Will it work on other colours or only black?
Aaron Johnson again, he probably isn't fixing actual scratches just cleaning off residue left from the other object he hit, WD 40 will not fill in scratches just polish out dirt which is what he's doing. If thats what you need done then yes the color makes no difference. But if you have actual scratches this wont remove them. Just rub your hand over it, if it is an indention then the paint is gone and its a scratch but if the mark is raised then its residue and this will help. It's also entirely possible the residue is over a scratch so the WD 40 will fix one but not the other, but the scratches will be less noticeable....
Yeah that's why i asked because wd 40 is just oil and it gets rid of rust NexusChild925
A car polishing compound may take out even more of that sctratch. In UK I use G3 cutting compound.
There are a lot of dented and scratched up cars out there, that I and others think as long as it's ok, it's good enough.
that's what I was about to say
