Well, free beer and mead, and wenches plenty come to mind...after over 40 years , mostly cuz we love to fight! I was Squire to Viscount Baron Sir Christian of Orange, KSCA,CSS, first Prince if CAID, and we helped found CAID and before it played a lot in the West, I also played in pre Drachenwald Europe in the Barony of Jaegersberg, that in 1979 lost too.many of it's members as Drachenwald Princepality was forming and we became the Shire of the Weeping Downs. I was its founding baron but the East Kingdom lost the paperwork proving it so, after over 39 years playing SCA, living it, I gave back my coroner and retired as a lord with just an AoA , but you know, history will remember me and my knight Viscount Baron Sir Christian of Orange, first Prince of CAID, and the best man I ever knew, and my friend since 1969 when I joined the SCA. He passed away a few years ago and I am not far from joining him...I wanted this to be known, the truth . Christian founded the Canton of Failte and I the Canton if the Eastern Gate both had f the Barony of Angels in Orange County California ...but history has been rewritten to exclude us and others claimed our victories as Stolen Valor.
I have been an SCA member, former fighter since Year Ii, ( briefly in Year I) , always wondered why we never did a war without pole weapons...jyst combat between foot soldiers not expecting cavalry ...I mean pole weapons are fine but it doesn't greatly give a lot if fighters who don't have one much to do, besides try to dodge those as you can't reach them...jes sayin'..alt Andreas von Sohren, PCS

When you die fall down.
Don't run down the line.
you got to get back to respawn somehow, and walking against your team thats advancing is a get way to get friendly fired.
