Reign of Kindo is actually one of the most underrated bands to ever exist. Follow them on all social media and buy their albums, it's an entire band of music savants!
It's actually not that hard to figure out what's going on in the parts (except the part starting at 4:00) but man.. It burns your right hand UP, and it's alot of coordination keeping your left foot going through most of the song and swapping to cross stick alot.
SO CRAZY! I personally think luke is one of the best drummers in the world and he's only 20, just think how sick he's gunna be in a few years. Insane! :O
I am sitting here all like... WOW. I have been listening to this again and again for over 3.5 hours and I am in love. This song is magical and your interpretation is just beautiful. It's the best example of beauty in music. Chapeau bas!
I've watched this cover so many times. It is by far my favorite. There's just something about it... The music is great, the drumming is phenomenal, sound is amazing, EVERYTHING!
My jaw has been dropped Luke! I've used your video to write down the drum part for myself to learn this song and oh damn is the beginning beat of the song challenging!! If not you, I don't think I would ever end up learning such a great song!! I'm just here to say thank you for uploading all your drum covers and giving us world so much of your hard work and time that brings us so much inspiration to our drumming!!
I have been a fan of this guy for about a year and I can honestly say that he is absolutely one of the best drummers I have had the pleasure of listening to. I can only hope to be as good as him. Very good stuff Luke keep going.
I didn't really appreciate your drumming covers too much, though over time you have begun to grow on me. I enjoying watching your covers with every update you make. What made me find you was through your "TROK - Hold Out - Luke Holland Cover" Thank you for covering my favourite band they really deserve a greater audience and I think this helps people find them through this. I know this song inside out from listening to it like a billion times and I noticed the complexity during 1:37 - 1:39 It is really tough sneaking that through man, the percussive skill it requires for a drummer to smash through that beat is insane, nonetheless each cover you do really does get better :) keep up the amazing work and look forward to seeing your progress over the years.
If you love The Reign of Kindo, you should hear thier previous project This Day & Age. Specifically the album " The Bell and The Hammer". Just so you can get a true representation on how much they have evolved all the way up to " Happy However After". My favorite musicians of all time.
This is probably the best his DW kit has sounded since we've heard it. Even though I'm a huge Remo fan and I love that he switch, the sound of these drums are perfection. Love it:D
Amazing dude. I love the solid pocket, the room you gave for the song to breathe, the kit didn't sound too edited this time either and the snare sounded more natural not fake, your best cover hands down. Less is more and you proved that today. Nice work brotha! God bless.
lol! didn't sound too edited? can you even hear his toms? not downing his playing at all. But, saying that this didn't sound edited is crazy. Maybe it's just me, but I can hear samples layered on everything but cymbals. Real drums don't sound like this. Anyway, great cover as always.
Benjamin Corona That drum set is custom built and top of the line, it is very possible that his drums sound THAT amazing. I'm not saying it isn't edited, but I don't think it's as edited as you think it is.
Benjamin Corona I agree with you. But it was way better than his other editing stuff. I wanna see covers of people NOT editing everything about drums on the videos. Seriously..
Great playing as always Luke! Chops are right on point man. Going back to the basics sometimes creates the best products and I feel you definitely did that here! Great job to Jeremy Tremp also mixing and editing is perfect
This is by a long shot my favorite one of your covers. Of course I have mad respect for the writing that goes on in your original content, but I am just emotionally captivated by this cover based on the way you play it. Really awesome man, you inspire me as a drummer to push my limits while still having control over what I'm playing.
Hey Luke, ever since your "Hold Out" video, I've been listening to "The Reign of Kindo". Shortly after listening to them, "Till We Make Our Ascent became my favorite song on the album, and I've been waiting for you to make a video of it. I know it's hard, but you killed it! Great job Luke, keep it up.
Word of advice, if you guys want to repeat this song from your laptop double right click, and click loop. Once again luke, you've outdown yourself! Keep it up!
Saw these guys live and the drummer is a beast. Looked like Jason Butler's drumming brother and performed like a maniac just like him too. Dude was completely relentless on the kit.
Absolutely amazing! Sick cover dude! Loved every second of it, thank you for such an inspirational video to one of my favourite songs by one of my favourite bands.
Hey, Luke. I really enjoyed this cover. Another great, chill alt-rock band you should listen to is "As Tall As Lions". They have amazing music, and their drums are great. Cliff Sarcona, of all the members, is someone you should look at. Cheers!
Luke is a great diverse drummer I've been watching his vid's from when he was very young and has evolved into this incredible player his timing is like a metronome love that clip with Sam Applebaum from Veil Of Maya brutal dual double bass drum assault!! Awesome
My favorite cover of yours yet. So well done, the lighting was great too, being that I notice that kind of stuff because i'm into that kind of stuff. Great job.
Reign of Kindo is actually one of the most underrated bands to ever exist. Follow them on all social media and buy their albums, it's an entire band of music savants!
This song has a level of complexity that I can’t even imagine.
Dude I love the Reign of Kindo. If you’re not already a fan, you should check them out. Their older stuff is their best, but that’s just my opinion.
It's actually not that hard to figure out what's going on in the parts (except the part starting at 4:00) but man.. It burns your right hand UP, and it's alot of coordination keeping your left foot going through most of the song and swapping to cross stick alot.
@@arsonne As far as I can get his right and is on 3 notes while his left hand is on 2 notes
This band is so underrated. Takes a true drummer to play this one. Well done!
SO CRAZY! I personally think luke is one of the best drummers in the world and he's only 20, just think how sick he's gunna be in a few years. Insane! :O
I liked this before I even saw the video, respect for covering kindo, or even knowing about them!
Seconded
It’s literally ridiculous they aren’t known, at all. The planet is stupid.
Thank you for loving Reign of Kindo!!!
And Thank You My Brother for making this!!!
His ability to play different time signatures is astounding. Absolutely amazing. I respect him so much.
I am sitting here all like... WOW. I have been listening to this again and again for over 3.5 hours and I am in love. This song is magical and your interpretation is just beautiful. It's the best example of beauty in music. Chapeau bas!
2024! beautiful song, amazing drum cover! love it all !!!
Luke, you are an extremely talented musician. You deserve all the success in the world.
Agree!!!
I love the double-time hi-hat chunks of the song... it's like you can FEEL the energy building up to that sweet instrumental section near the end
This is probably my favorite cover of yours
I've watched this cover so many times. It is by far my favorite. There's just something about it... The music is great, the drumming is phenomenal, sound is amazing, EVERYTHING!

Your toms sound like heaven. So does your snare, and your cymbals, and heads, and the kick... Don't even get me started. HOLY shit.
I love this jazzy punk style! This might be one of my favorite covers by you now.
like a dream... therefore praise the sun!
I love the emotion he shows when he plays.
I just want to personally thanks you for putting your all into these covers. You can see the dedication. Good things are coming!
Finally some Reign of Kindo! They really are the best. You need to do 'Hold Out' by them, that one is my favorite. They are so talented, as are you.
he already has ........ like a while ago
***** Wait whaaat. I'm so happy right now!
He has done one
I love the solid technicality and beauty of this song. Absolutely nailed it.
Such strain to create such beauty, the sacrifice is real!
I love all the different grooves in this
EXCELLENT job man! Your Reign of Kindo covers are my favorite! Thank you for being so good haha
Luke!! DUUUUDE!! Concentration beyond limits!! One of the best drum covers I've ever seen!!
Keep it up, bro!

Oh my god he played reign of kindo!!! I'm so happy!! I love them and him
Solid work. One of my favorite bands because of their crazy beats and timings
The kit is a stunner. What a beautiful wood grain pattern. I like the style you are playing in this one. Not too busy. Very nice.
This is probably the best his DW kit has sounded since we've heard it. Even though I'm a huge Remo fan and I love that he switch, the sound of these drums are perfection. Love it:D
Such beautiful drumming! Absolutely adore this drum cover. I could watch this over and over and over...
this song shows how diverse luke is and great drummers are diverse ! luke is so good its insane!
MOST EXCELLENT!!!! As always.....Thanks again for all the great music. Peace
Your ability to play powerful, rhythmical and with passion at the same time is admirable.
This is definitely the best sound you've ever had on your drums in a video, especially the toms, they sound amazing! Also great cover!

amazing song and killer sounding drums bro! for being a last minute thing in the studio you kicked some serious ass. nice job man!

Sounds heavily compressed but it doesn't take away from his playing at all, fantastic drummer!
Benjamin Corona I agree with you. But it was way better than his other editing stuff. I wanna see covers of people NOT editing everything about drums on the videos. Seriously..
Kyle Thomson Yepper
Awesome! I love Kindo, Steven is an incredible drummer. You nailed it.

Great playing as always Luke! Chops are right on point man. Going back to the basics sometimes creates the best products and I feel you definitely did that here! Great job to Jeremy Tremp also mixing and editing is perfect
