Extra stuff you can add: Worcestershire sauce, about 2 drips per serving, mix well (drip is more than a drop, gently smack the back of the bottle). Cayenne powder/red pepper/crushed red pepper if you like spice. Parsley is great fresh or dried but I usually use dry.
I know you probably don't care about this but you really helped me with my eating disorder. I've been struggling for years with eating food that other people have made, worrying if it's sanitary, or eating in general. whenever i’m tired to make a meal, here’s what i make. macaroni n cheese in a mug! add 1/2 cup of elbow macaroni and water with a pinch of salt. microwave until your noodles are soft, add more water if needed. after, strain the pasta. mix it incase some pasta wasn’t separated, then pour it back in the mug. add 1/2 cup of milk, cheese (add to your liking), and some pepper (optional) microwave it for 30 seconds but if the cheese isn’t melted then microwave more edit: if milk is still left (happens sometimes) js strain it again and add a bit more salt + pepper
I've done this a few times. Ive found it's good with a few larger blocks of cheese to give some texture and, more importantly, some supper cheap mustard to make it more like mac and cheese.

my mother made something similar to this once, except it was in the form of a casserole and she added crushed-up kettle cooked chips from our local grocery store to add some extra fun. it was genuinely the best food i have ever had.
@@ghost-carnival it's pretty much the same recipe in the video, but you spread cooked mac n cheese in whatever flat oven dish you like. then you sprinkle some more cheese on top (enough to cover all of the noodles), crush some classic flavored lays (or whatever chip you prefer, it's just gotta be the original/classic flavor), and sprinkle the chip bits all over the top layer. i forget how long it needs to be in the oven or how hot it needs to be (it's been a while since we've made it) but i would estimate around 400 F-- just check on it in the oven until the top layer of cheese looks fully melted and/or a bit crispy- whichever is more to your liking. enjoy :D
I recommend grating your own cheese, the pre-grated stuff is coated in starch to prevent it from sticking together in the bag, but this also causes it to melt weird. If you use freshly grated cheese it'll have a much smoother consistency!

i recommend adding milk to the cheese instead of water if you want it to be creamier, plus i’m sure some of us know what it’s like to have that nasty tap water taste that transfers into whatever you add it to💀 looks really good though, easy meals are always nice👍
Top tip: When cleaning the cheese off, DON'T use super hot water. Scraping currently melted cheese off a pot is a bit more difficult than Scraping off cold cheese!
I like to put a bit of hot sauce in mine and smoked paprika, Chili powder, garlic and herbs ( basil, oregano). Maybe Cajun seasoning who knows. It’s delicious.
I am very similar to you. I love to add Frank's buffalo wing sauce, a ton of black pepper, sometimes some garlic and onion powder (also fabulous to add to frozen fench fries before cooking. A little oil, salt, pepper, garlic and onion powder). I'm gonna try adding some red pepper flakes and smoked paprika to mine now. Maybe some chili powder. I really like it spicy.

I don't know how but my mom used to add breadcrumbs on top and cook the pasts till it had a thick breadcrumb layer atop it and it was like a mac n' cheese cake, delectable. Tried it to make it once, failed miserably

@@dabadllama Cheeky wee industry secret - Pams Colby, Edam, and mild Cheddar are actually the same as Mainland. Fonterra (Mainland) make it then label them differently for the supermarket. Tasty, and anything aged are different though - hence a bigger price difference as they are made for each label differently

Anything aged (tasty +vintage, premium cheeses) are done in house by the manufacturers, and so there are variations in those
So i saw this a few days ago, im currently going through chemo and so things like cooking and eating become really hard, instead of parm, i used cheddar cause was all we had. It was amazing and so easy to eat, i didnt have enough water (my mistake used too much pasta and was getting tired) but added a splash of whole milk and it was perfect. I don't know how but my mom used to add breadcrumbs on top and cook the pasts till it had a thick breadcrumb layer atop it and it was like a mac n' cheese cake, delectable. Tried it to make it once, failed miserably

Same with cheese. I would rather have 700g mainland vs 1kg of Pams cheese even though they cost the same and you'd get less, mainland cheese just tastes so friggin good.
@@dabadllama Cheeky wee industry secret - Pams Colby, Edam, and mild Cheddar are actually the same as Mainland. Fonterra (Mainland) make it then label them differently for the supermarket. Tasty, and anything aged are different though - hence a bigger price difference as they are made for each label differently
@@ThomasA101 how can that be, they taste nothing alike and the texture is very different. Is it the worse cheese from there that is used for Pams or something?
@@dabadllama The supermarkets buy the bulk cheese blocks (think 200kg blocks?) cut to size and put their own label on them. Shouldn't be any different than the Fonterra brands ones. Anything aged (tasty +vintage, premium cheeses) are done in house by the manufacturers, and so there are variations in those

So i saw this a few days ago, im currently going through chemo and so things like cooking and eating become really hard, instead of parm, i used cheddar cause was all we had. It was amazing and so easy to eat, i didnt have enough water (my mistake used too much pasta and was getting tired) but added a splash of whole milk and it was perfect. So grateful for this video cause ive been having a real hard time getting to eat anything💜💜💜

Pre-shredded cheese does not melt as well, I highly recommend using a block and shredding it yourself for the best results.
Trust me I tried it, if you wanna up your class by 100x the throw some bread crumbs and extra cheese on top of it, throw it in the oven, and set it to broil and then take it out maybe 5 mins later RESTAURANT QUALITY
