Lovely. This is my all time favourite virtual running video. Great job. Love the scenery and the natural sound. Hope this video doesn't go out of the app and UA-cam.
When I was in the 9th grade, I got in trouble for talking in class, and the teacher made me write a long report about Tasmania. I have been fascinated by Tasmania ever since, and I doubt I'll ever get to go in real life, so what a joy to find this video! I did 30 minutes of it on my exercise bike and will watch it again, I'm sure. Thank you!
Wow! This was awesome! Loved how it went from trail running to the city docks then back to the trails. Loved the length too. Another totally awesome video! Again thank you so much for doing this.
The run starts at the Gas Road Park (42°51'04"S 147°19'37"E · 9.76 m) and heads to Cornelian Bay before then heading towards Hobart 😊 Mark should make an updated run featuring the Bridge of Remembrance and the Gardens.
16:00: passing under the Tasman Bridge -- you can see the disused rail line on the left, which is unfortunate because the rail is still useful 22:46: the main mountain is kunanyi / Mt Wellington (1,267 m) and is very distinctive, its face being the organ pipes 25:42: heading onto Hunter Street, which used to be Hunter Island but became Macquarie Point -- IXL Jams and the School of Arts are here, very quaint on Sullivans Cove 27:10: can briefly see the Tasmanian Museum and Art Gallery on the right. We cross a fancy bridge 27:43: the Elizabeth St Pier 28:34: an Antarctic Vessel, replaced by the Nuyina. Salamanca is behind it, as we move into Constitution Dock. 29:51: old tram tracks, torn up in the 50's, regrettably. Had one of the largest networks of double-decker trams 33:45: Music conservatory on the left, Mac Point behind and right 36:03: the mountains on the other side are the Meehan Range. On the water below (timtumili minanya / the Derwent) the old Exposition Building used to be. Now they want to put a blackmail stadium there 😝 42:32: passing under the Tasman Bridge again. Fun fact: Abel Tasman, who came to Tasmania in the 1600's and is the namesake, was from Groningen, a city the size of Hobart / nipaluna (220,000l yet with better urban design.
I've been using hiking, biking, etc. videos to take me out of my livingroom and away from the pandemic. This wasn't my usual ride (I'm riding on a spin bike I thankfully bought before quarantine!) but I enjoyed going out of the trails and into the city for a change. A great run for you - and wonderful biking experience for me. Stay safe and healthy - and next time maybe you can film a Tasmanian Devil!! :-)
I'm a little bit jealous I lived in Hobart for 24 year's rode my bike everywhere and went for long drives to westerway to pick berries to make jam in the summer although I am shocked I never knew of this trail 🌟 magnificent how pretty it all is 🐿️
Westerway near Maydena? Or I'm dumb, but anyway, already answered by angi --oh, the comment said "long drives to Westerway", so, it's that one in the Derwent Valley, not anywhere in Hobart
I grew up in Tasmania in Hobart Lenah Valley in Giblin Street. Left when I was 17 years old.
Why if I may ask?
Through the wharf and commercial areas I realized that I had not seen any trash or litter ANYWHERE. Wonderful.

So many Tasmanians don't know about wonderful places, a bit of a shame that the human environment often just shoves away the natural opportunities
Enjoyed. Thx for sharing!
Thank you for the run! I almost fell off the treadmill around the 43 mark 😂
Just imagining a coconut falling off a treadmill

Come back or else, says I
A name would help. In the comments someone said it was "Westerway". I'll need to use Google Maps.
