For people who are confused:
This is a brand new single player game set in the dbd universe, featuring as far as we know original characters (who will likely come to dbd as skins or characters in the future). This is made in collaboration with Supermassive games, who are known to be behind “Until Dawn”, “The Quarry”, and “The Dark Pictures Anthology”. This game will likely be in a style where the player makes choices that will alter the story. It will release sometime in 2024.
By the way, the song is “Daylight” by David Kushner
Never been a fan of those types of games cuz they feel so short and small to me, but the character looks awesome and I'd love it to be a new killer

There’s a lot of symbolism in the name “The Casting Of Frank Stone” Frank Stoke being some form of character. Casting either being casted by the entity for what we know as “The Trials” or casting in terms of being shaped or molded by the entity. As well as casting and stone in the title could imply the saying “Casting the first stone” so this may very well be some form of beginning to the story we know, this may have been where the first stone of our story is casted.
A part of me wonders if he may not just be another worlds version of the trapper but the entity preferred the evan we currently have in game over frank, leaving frank back on his earth as sorta a urban legend
However despite not being taken, the entity still seems to linger around him and seems to even cause constant overlaps around him (maybe for just in case it decides to take him anyway, or maybe even after the trapper finally ran dry of emotions and gets tossed to the void)
Another way I thought of it was casting something made of metal, shaping one thing into something else with more purpose

I like how there is a glint of light in Frank's eyes, that there is a hint of humanity in him. Usually, people make sure that there is no light glinting in the eye of an evil character, to show that there is no life or soul in them. But Frank shows that glint in his eye, meaning that there is more to him than a killer.

Finally expanding the DBD franchise in a way that makes the most sense. Not everyone likes 4v1’s. But a LOT of people like horror based story games.
Imagine new characters or existing characters story fleshed out in an interactive way.
THIS is a good sign.
For anyone wondering what the gameplay and chase sequences will be like:
Most of the game is cutscenes where you make choices that determine events that happen and who lives/dies. All action sequences during the game are also cutscenes with things like "Quick Time Events". For example, if you had to jump over a pallet to escape the killer in the game a buttom would appear on the screen. If you press the button before it vanishes you jump over the pallet, if you don't then the character is either permenantly dead or lives through luck somehow. The rest of the gameplay while not being chased will basically be 3rd person and you will just walk around through areas finding clues and trying to escape.

Considering how much I loved "Until Dawn", "The Impatient" and "The Quarry"... this is going to be the BEST collaboration since peanut butter and chocolate were combined!

Supermassive games have multiple endings where the characters either all live, all die, or only few live. They'll find a way to bring them into the game as characters 100%. It might only be 2 of the survivors though with the other 2 as main skins, There are usually about 2 "Main Characters" in these types of games.

I remember when DBD came in 2016, Until Dawn was quite popular game in horror genre (infact 1 of the best) to the point i feel DBD took some inspiration & similarities in art & lore from that game. So watching this collab now is like a dream come true. Hoping this will be a good success.

My theory is that the man in the beginning is Vigo and not Frank Stone because, Frank has orange hair as seen in the end of the trailer and that's really all the evidence I can provide however. I think Vigo was the one talking in the start about how something is too dangerous. Also, I think in the beginning Vigo is the one speaking about how something is too dangerous. I think it takes place after Vigo escaped the entities' realm and the reason he is arming himself is because he knows the entity will come for him and Frank Stone is the one that the entity sent after Vigo. Since Vigo studied the entity a whole lot I feel that the journal with a sketch of the entity is Vigo's journal and that journal holds all the knowledge and contraptions against the entity and Frank Stone was sent to capture Vigo but not kill him. In the time that Frank Stone captured Vigo, Frank made a sacrificial hook to sacrifice Vigo's soul to the entity and the part where the entity is descending out of the sky is when the entity comes to collect Vigo's soul. Whilst Frank remains to dispose and erase all traces of Vigo and his studies whilst the 4 people seen going into the tunnels beneath the sewer could possibly be related to Vigo in some way. When who I assume to be Vigo is talking in the beginning, it sounds to me like he's talking over a radio and he's communicating to the 4 people about how Frank is coming for him and when Vigo says something about it being dangerous that's him warning them that it isn't anything to mess around over and Vigo spent his final moments trying to tell them about what's about to happen and if they could potentially save his life and his studies from being destroyed so the world is able to fight back against the entity. That is all I would like to share and I feel like I am very much onto something in some aspect. Sorry if my writing is a little hard to read or understand, I didn't really put much effort into writing this.
The guy on the workshop desk at the beginning looks old and frail while the killer at the end of the trailer looks relatively young. Also, Viggo sounds like an italian name/nickname and the guy talking at the beginning has a stereotypical italian cadence. Just my two cents.

I am not a fan or know anything about the dead by daylight universe but this gets me extremely hype for some reason. It sounds very interesting that it frames it like I should feel bad for the killer. Just curious how it’ll turn out.
Well, most killers in dbd have somewhat empathetic stories where they usually are just as much the victim as the people they killed, so if i had to guess that's probably what will happen here

Theory- The main characters of this game/experience will be the lost survivors {excluding Steve and Nancy cuz they in ST} who the entity picked up to play with. Maybe the Frank Stone Mill was an old map idea and maybe the survivors were pulled into the realm in such a way that they did not realize that they were pulled by the Entity. However, since Frank was a mentally broken killer who knew way too much about the Entity....maybe it either sent them back with their memories wiped or just strait up swiped them out of existence, leaving only their perks and the few syllables of their names. Just a small little theory in my head.

My theory: This will either be about the entities first killer as many others have already said OR i believe this could be the entities creating, some hints would be how his welding mask is broken showing only one eye, like the one eye we see in the clouds possibly of the entity, we see shadowey arms of the entity growing out of the back of the character (most likely frank) and we also see the welding masks resemblance of a spiders front teeth, spider being the entities preferred shape, so could frank stone BE the entity?
I finished the game and got this at the end, it gave me a tear in my eye 😢 I loved it a lot, in my opinion it was the best dbd spin off 🥲

Doesn’t show any gameplay, doesn’t elaborate on the story, doesn’t tell anything at all. Just a very vague trailer promising nothing concrete.

Hands down.. this trailer gives me chills... Music goes soo well. Short story, animation, concept of a killer, and even survivors finally look like some random group of friends who stumbles uppon some cruel things to witness. All i can say "Well done guys, you did amazing job"

Well, maybe I am mistaken, but thats looks like the trailer contains a lot of stuff, which was either cut from the game or never even existed in the first place, it is honestly seems, that the accent was shifted from the Frank Stone to something else completely, the game, comparing to the expectations I've got from this trailer, really seems...empty? Underwhelming? I don't know, but it is definitely not a positive emotion...
I played the game on launch day and finished it the same day. I’d give a 7.5 - 8 rating. ( SPOILER WARNING) I wasn’t too stoked about the whole “multiversal” stuff. I was hoping it would’ve been specifically only set in 1980 and not jumping back and forth from 1980 to 2024. In my opinion, I was a bit disappointed that we didn’t see more of “human” Frank Stone. It was a bit of a let down that he got “killed” right at the beginning. Don’t get me wrong. His “monster form” was badass but I felt like it took away the mystique of Frank Stone. To me Frank Stone was already scary looking and being a regular human doing horrific acts but now he’s just a generic dbd killer that went from being human to monster. Overall I still liked the game but it didn’t reach some of the expectations I had for it. Honestly I’d feel a lot better if when they release Frank Stone into dbd, at least give him his human form as a skin.

If they really want this to feel special, I hope we also get to make choices from the killer POV. Remember that most killers are as much victims of the entity as the survivors and want to escape this purgatory.
That'd also be new for super massive to do. I think none of super massive games actually show the characters pov. It'd be kinda cool for for survivors to see the killer as a dark sadistic killer, but the killer sees the survivors as a sign of help.
I dont think they can story wise. Because if this is the killer that started the chain of events of DBD and current trials. His role is kind of critical to the timeline. If we play him as good, then the Fog wouldnt exist, ie trials we have in base game. And if we do play him, we'd get the illusion of choice. Which would be shitty gameplay, but narrative wise would show that whatever we do, it is inevitable that the Entity wins
So I can see why playing as the 4 survivors would make more sense. Tho I'd love to be wrong

@@FinestFantasyVI the choices can impact Frank alone, the Entity will do whatever it feels like doing regarding the creation of the trials. You could also have choices that are all evil but lead to different outcomes.

Coming back here after the release of the game makes me wonder what happened in development during these 9 months. This trailer, and a lot of the promotional material I remember from around this time, was so focused on Frank Stone as a character. And now in the actual game he has no personality or dialogue and barely any backstory. I agree with a lot of the comments here of how this trailer puts Frank Stone in an almost sympathetic light, like he’s in pain or doesn’t want to do this. Was this trailer always massively misleading or did something happen in development that made them switch course?

We know alot of his backstory though? Abused by his parents, then taken care of and manipulated by everyone he's ever trusted into thinking he is doing something for the greater good of the world.

After this trailer released I felt like this was going to be Supermassive Game's path back to Until Dawn. This trailer looked truly promising, especially with the weird ARG thing they did for the website... But now I'm beginning to realize The Quarry wasn't so bad after all.

i think this is more meant around the entity thats forcing him to kill alot of people, so much that he wants a break even though hes a psycho. Guess we'll know at release

After playing the game to 100 percent completion I will say the trailer does feel misleading but it still is an amazing game

Some hunches I have about this game
1. This could possibly be the first killer that arrived in The Entities realm and tells the story about how he got there before being tossed into The Void
2. The screams in the background are most likely the four main characters being held captive by said killer who at some point during the game manage to escape and you have to help them make it out alive.
3. The Entity's full physical form is seen for the first time, that being a gigantic spider. While it is said that the realm itself IS The Entity (ex. Trees, Birds, pallets etc) on the official DBD wiki it states that The Entities most preferred form is that of a Spider, resembling something from Stephen Kings IT.
4. It's my strong hunch that whoever it is that is supposed to canonically survive the game will most likely show up as a future survivor in the core game.
All in all I'm really excited for this game, can't wait to get my hands on it.
Edit: When I was looking at the steam page for the game, I also noticed a pharmaceutical store that had "Afterpiece Tonic" on it, so we'll probably get to meet a younger version of The Clown at some point? Or maybe a close relative that refers to him.
Edit 2: Did some thinking and I believe that we will experience the 4 main characters get taken by The Entity, which will result in them encountering Frank Stone and we will experience a full trial in a more cinematic perspective. This would explain why his workbench is covered in nature by the time the others show up. So before that happens, it’s really more so getting to know the towns history and the scars Frank left behind.
I'm glad they actually went with the Entity being a spider as expected and not some annoying human form, I'm sick of humanoid forms for evil entities, would rather have more evil and alien looking monsters tbh
There was no first killer in the entities realm, the entity is timeless, so all killers and survivors have pretty much been in the trials forever

So Killers like the plague (Who we know is the oldest killer in terms of which time period there from) Came into the realm after the the Trapper who at the moment is the earliest killers to be brought into the realm and not be tossed into the void

I’ve read the description below the film and this game will not only present Frank’s sins but also his legacy. So current killer in the trailer is probably son of Frank or his grandson.
The entity can not force you to do anything outside its realm ( in the real world ) . It can only follow you through the course of your life in the shadows , wishper in your ear and try to manipulate you to do bad things , but not force you . This game takes place in the real world , before the entity takes them to the realm of dbd , so the killer most probably has his own personal reasons for doing what he does .

I like how they did the killers face he looks so tired
As if he had been fighting against an urge for so long, only to fail to lose. And now he somberly prepares for his inescapable fate of a killing unto death or capture.
He prepares to give the evil form with tools and equipment likely from his old life. A crooked and deformed welders mask morphed into the jaws of a great beast who's hunger will never be sated even by all the souls of its prey.
A file of cold steel, crudely worn down until the tip is sharp enough to finally hold the beast's infinite malice it has for its prey.

Still can’t get over how awesome the entity looks. We’ve never seen the entity as ominous and cataclysmic as it looks here when descending from the clouds. That combined with the music really makes it feel like an actual god is entering the realm in the presence of something horrible about to happen that’s beyond our wildest nightmares. I’m so excited
