  • At #computex2024 with ID Cooling checking out their cooler lineup- specifically this dual tower that is in development. It's as wide as your typical large dual tower, but without a lot of the height. The A720 Slim looks interesting, it will have 4x 70mm fans, while standing 125mm tall.

    That slim dual tower prototype is very interesting. I hope they get the fan speed issue figured out, or otherwise make it compatible with more standard 80mm fans instead. Very happy with their IS-55 ARGB in one of my builds.

    IS-47-XT works well in my 6.7 liter case. I appreciate that the CPU cooler is centered, and not offset, eliminating fitment issues with tall motherboard heat sinks.

      Agreed, so hard to work with low profile air coolers, when you’re not 100% sure your mobo heat sinks won’t get in the way

    I like Id cooling coolers. They do a lot for SFF scene and the prices are very competitive

    Now that's interesting. Personally, I would've liked it more if it used 4x 80x25mm fans but it's still something worth looking forward to.

    I saw a picture of the dual tower cooler, and I was super stoked because someone said it was 77mm. Now I'm bummed since it's a no-go for what I was intending. I still hope they make this and I'll still buy it for some other project.

      Yeah unfortunately the fans are 70mm but the height was quoted at 125mm. At 125mm there are a few decent towers with bigger fans, this one just has a unique form factor being a wider unit.

    I've been waiting for someone to put out something similar to the Jiushark JF13K for a while now, great to see ID Cooling be the ones

    Sad that they don't want to update sff coolers much. I think if they had 35-36 mm ram clearance on IS-55 and did it in copper it'd be the best radiator for a very long time. They can also work on improvement static pressure on their fans.

    I want to see air coolers of the future, an air cooler to cool top tier chips. I so love air coolers for all they are and could be. Interesting ID coolers

    if they just supply the cooler and i can use 80mm noctua fans ill be happy sff matx case hase 78mm clearance so that sff dual tower 80mm would cool better vertical than sff horizontal

    Saw the A720 Slim on Reddit, and it's both cool and confusing... It looks like it's built for a 3U server chassis. I wonder how it will perform next to the NH-U9L and Thermalright SS 110. Have to imagine it's louder than both.

    • @spoorthyv
      @spoorthyv 29 днів тому +2

      Yeah I would assume its louder at lower tdps but with more headroom for power hungry chips. 220w is p impressive.

      @@spoorthyv agreed -- especially if your system is in another room.

      @igor4knezevic 28 днів тому

      Only thing with the SS110 is that it's not that popular compared to the Noctua, and Thermalright seems to be a better performer, so Thermalright just needs to nail down distribution.

    i wonder what cases are limited by a 125mm cpu cooler height for the A720

    • @m-rtin
      @m-rtin 28 днів тому

      Yeah weird choice there, I wonder if he misspoke as it doesn’t look that tall. 110mm is about the max height for 3U cases

      Maybe not a ton, but I've been hoping for something like this for a custom case.

      but i still feel like peerless assassin 90se / silversoul 110 would do better
