  • Stock coolers suck. But many people don't want to invest a heavy amount of money just for a cooler. So, the ID-Cooling SE-226-XT exists to solve that predicament.
This is a single tower, six heat pipes CPU cooler. Let see if this is a viable option for those who are upgrading from their stock cooler.

Intel stock coolers haven’t changed in almost 15years. They really need to at least double/triple the metal heat sink component, implement a better fan design, new mounting mechanism and abolish those god awful push-pin connectors!

Thank you for the review!! How long and wide was the screw driver you used to put into heat sync?

I actually don't know what is the CPU being tested after completing the video. Seems like reviewers just jumped straight into running AIDA64, then got carried away to talk about the stock and ID-Cooling cooler.

Looks exactly like the Scythe Mugen 5 Rev.C but the ID Cooling SE 226 XT lacks a screw driver but on the plus side for budget cpu fan buyers it's about 20 dollars cheaper. I do like the cool Scythe logo on their cooler. The ID Cooling I believe is a clone of the Scythe Mugen because it came out after it I believe and looks identical.

what type of screwdriver to I need for that long screw, and how long?

the tower is nearly 150mm high. To reach that screw through the fin stack, phillips head of at least 8 inches / 200mm. The shaft of the screwdriver no more than 5.5mm diameter.

I dislike that Intel and AMD both give weak stock cpus. Don't be fooled by the incorrect reviews on the Wraith Prism for the AMD Ryzen series. That thing is not good. It lasted me only two years until I had to replace it with another cpu fan. It for whatever reason stopped cooling well and would crash my pc when I encoded with handbrake. The temps would go up to around 103c and then it would crash my Ryzen 7 3700x. I replaced the Wraith Prism cooler with a 30-25 dollar cpu cooling fan in the Thermalright Assassin King 120 SE which I've tested and now my temps under load never go higher than 73c with that cooler in handbrake. I had a 6 dollar amazon gift card in my account and I don't know why but either way it brought the price of that cooler down to around 25 bucks.
