Chad Michael Murray almost played the role of Ryan in The O.C. he even auditioned for it, but he passed up on it so that he could play Lucas in this show since he had just landed the role and he could relate more to Lucas since it felt like home to Chad because he grew up with a single parent and was a fan of literature.
