It breaks my heart at the idea that the survival of a realm and its majestic creatures hinges upon the belief that they exist. It would be nice that after they are created from imagination that they can live idependently without it
It's an exploration into an idea: can a shared imaginative idea exist when those who shared it no longer remember it? Do we die again when the last person thinks of us for the last time?
I played a video game, asherons call, an MMORPG like world of warcraft, back in the 2000s. It doesn't exist anymore, but plenty of people played it and love it to this day. Does it still exist because we have fond memories, or is it gone because we all stopped believing enough to play it?
Welcome to the setting of Gensokyo of Touhou. Where the monsters and gods really did exist because of human faith/fear but as humans grew in knowledge, the magic of the setting slowly died out. So they had to create a hidden space where they could live.

I feel like something from one of the biggest current fantasy authors is probably fairly well known. Would be neat, but I don't think novels, already neatly packaged into an easy to explore and read format, would lend themselves as well to TES's content style. Not as much to explore, not as much to gain by exploring them.

@@madkirk7431 it’s because they actually don’t. They are “men of science”. That’s not to say that they actually don’t, more over, it’s they subconsciously don’t. There for, no matter if they say that they in fact do deep down they don’t because in order for men like them to believe something they require understanding. So in reality it’s more so that it requires faith that they exist for them to actually exist. And faith is something the members of the foundation utterly lack. It goes absolutely counter to everything the foundation is cause it quite literally IS the foundation (take that how you will). Tho this is something of a touchy topic…

Dont have many scp readers anymore that actually hold up the atmosphere of horror. So dissapointed at what you get when you do a search on youtube, most of the first ones are bunch of jokers and kiddy animations. You sir are doing a splendid job!
This is by one of the most intricate and imaginative SCP entries I have heard of. The detail and creativity clearly has the makings of a potential D&D campaign or a fantasy book.

The WORM gave me nightmares that were better than the normal ones I have. The Ouroboros cycle is one of my favorite stories, and the in depth looks at the stories make my nights so much more fun. Thanks man.

I love how much thought went into the creations of all these creatures. There's almost an entire world described by just the creatures that live there. Common creatures that everyone has adapted to living with, domesticated creatures, creatures that contribute to their ecosystem, creatures that are considered dangerous or even fantastical by the world's standards, individuals and events and history all in the pages of this wildlife report.
