This is not your fathers Powermatic !
This is a quick review on the PM1200 air filter and how its mounted on a swivel. For more info check out www.workshopadd...
Really appreciate such honest reviews!
I picked a used PM1200 on Craigslist for $125. It was in great shape / everything worked. I replaced both filters for $135. If you are lucky enough to find a used PM1200, I highly recommend getting it.
Short comparison: PM1200 vs. popular DIY filter system:
The PM1200 is significantly more powerful than a popular UA-cam DIY build (Caterpillar fan + Wynn Environmental Filter). The original idea behind this DIY was to avoid making a large, complex and cumbersome DIY system. It succeeds in its simplicity but falls short in overall performance. It suffers from the fan being too close to the filter which sniffles the power of the fan. I haven't given up on this $350 DIY system but I need to make changes to improve it.
Hi Rich,
Excellent review, thank you for sharing. It always helps to get good info on products by people who implemented. It helps when good people posts.
Fantastic! Thank you for the quick response. Have a great day, Steve K.
Thx for the review. My mind is settled I'm going to get a Jet
The plastic grilles and chrome bumper stripes are worthless. lol Other than that i love mine and i also have 5 more air filtration units in my shop and they are Jet...They all work really really good. Im A full timer so they all run usually 12 hours a day 7 days a week.
Powermatic has a new unit out...the 1250. Are you guys going to do a review on it?
We have a large list to get through, but maybe in a month or so.
Would you happen to have plans available for the swivel? I like the idea of fine tuning the collector to see what works best? Thanks, Jeff W.
we do not have plans for it. sorry.
Hi Rich, I'm going to be setting up our 2nd equipment trailer in the near future and I'm interested in using a portable storage system. I've noticed that you have Festool systainers storage containers and Bosch L-Box storage system in your shop. Which system work better? Could do a review comparing the two systems?
Thank you for the great videos, Steve K
Sounds good, thank you for your response
