Hundreds of miles of drystone walls where I am in Cumbria, some of them hundreds of years old. I've spent a good few days over the past 50 years helping maintain them.
During the famine (1845 - 48) the british gouverment forced the starving population of Ireland, to build miles of this kind of walls, even if they were of no use at all.
What a great program, amazing story, thank you.
The west of Ireland is full of walls exactly like this. Really beautiful
