- After a lot of trial and error I made this video to show how to take a cheap Amazon tablet or any tablet and have it be a kiosk display with calendar, time and weather and then show the Ring display when activity is detected.

Thank you very much for this video. It was a bit hard to follow, and there is only one App for Ring left in the Playstore nowadays, but ok... It worked for me except the Kill-Step. I figured out that you can also do it with the "app gohome" function, so i replaced the Kill-Step with this and it works fine. I would never have made it without your video. again, thank you!

Fantastic video, thank you. I had a spare fire hd 10 at home but didnt realise I could set it up like this until I did some research after my ring chime failed to power on. Works really well so far. Thanks again.

@@cam68644 Yes it did, I also added an extra touch to the process. 2 seconds before the camera activates I added an mp3 file "someone at the door" which is pretty cool. I do find I need to reboot the tablet after a few days but overall it works really well.

Hi, is it feasible to do what you have done there but instead of going back to the kiosk browser it goes to the amazon smart home dashboard?
To easily get the Ring doorbell to appear on ring, you can also do this with Alexa routines.
Presuming you’ve set up your Ring doorbell already and connected it to the Ring app and it’s visible already on your Alexa app.
1. Open the Alexa app and click More
2. click on Routines
3. tap the + button to add a new routine
4. give it a name
5. under When, tap Add an event
6. choose Smart Home and select your Ring Doorbell
7. tap on Doorbell - when doorbell event occurs
8. tap Save
9. under Alexa Will, tap Add an action
10. Select Custom and type "show me the front door"
11. tap Save
12. You can now play the routine to see if it works
13. I also add a couple of extra steps to the routine to then close the live preview:
14. A 30 second Wait
15. And then another Custom one "hide the front door camera"
Voila!
I have done everything that he has shown and when my door bell rings it comes up on the screen but only stays on for 15 seconds even though I have it set for 1 min 30 seconds. Have you been able to have your ring video to stay on longer then that?
Will it work if ring motion detection? Will it pop up live on table?

Thanks for you video, I was able to do it on my fire HD 10. I have several ring cameras, somehow my problem is when my front door or any other ring cam gives the first alert after the set time, fully kiosk browser will come on then Dakboard, but somehow, if I get another alert from a different ring cam, the very first cam that came up will be the camera I would see, it will not show the other ring cams. I had the tasker to kill app on rapid ring and ring like u showed. Wondering if you have any solution to that. Thanks again.
Hi, That is a weird error. I only have a doorbell cam so I'm not sure how to fix that. The process should be clicking on the notification which should go to the camera feed. Maybe try manually clicking on the notification on different camera alerts and see if that works properly? Hope you can figure it out and let me know how you did it.
@@MrActiveservo Thanks for your reply..I got it working by way of integrating your way and smart home automation's way (make sure to watch his part 2), so I got 8 ring cameras, they all show up now, no cameras' get stack anymore. Thanks again.

What about motion, any chance you can have it to auto show the camera as soon as it picks up a motion?
I also have CCTV around the property which would link to an app, so looking to install this device in the kitchen wall to also monitor cctv
Do you have any chance to connect to a tablet? As far as motion detection live pop-ups?
I've done this 3 times so far, can't get it to run, only went as far as walking outside to see if ring boots up, I've wiped it all 3 times and started over from scratch I have 8th edition don't know if that matters
At 13:36 there is action intercept....where did that come from....was it lost in your edits?? I think this is why it will not automatically trigger the full screen.
Please tell me this is NOT the ONLY way to load the Ring app on Fire 8 tablet ???
It works for everything except the kill steps: app stay open until I touch answer or close. How can I fix
Quick question, is there a way to have your own sound play when the ring doorbell is pressed? I tried it by adding a sound task after AutoNotification Actions but it doesnt play, do I need to add it one step prior, so basically after the first step which is Flash %antouchaction? Also, is there a way to move tasks up and down in task editor? Thanks

@@enice617 Apologies for the late reply. I downloaded an audio file (MP3) which says "There is someone at your door", I then created a tasks with this audio file (Music Play - File Someone at the door.mp3 - Start 0 - Loop off). I then amended the steps in the video to the following:
1. Flash
2. Autonotification Actions
3. Wait 4 seconds
4. Perform Task - Someone at the door
5. Wait 20 seconds
6. Kill App - Rapid Ring
7. Kill App - Ring (just in case Ring decides to load)
8. Wait 3 seconds
9. Launch App - Fully Kiosk Browser

Hello. There is a problem. After disconnecting the tablet, the tasker does not start. We have to configure everything from the beginning. Maybe there is a solution to this breakdown. I live in Russia. Some attachments ( rapid ring, ring ) it is not possible to download officially ... I was looking for an apk on the internet . I found everything, all applications work. As soon as I reload the tablet, the ring does not work (

Hello been trying to see my ring doorbell pro2 on my Amazon HD10 11 generation full screen however it only opens up partial, was wondering what am I doing wrong?
I had issues with my Amazon FireHD 10 so changed over to an old Samsung tablet which works great.
There should be a little gear icon inside of that picture in picture. Click it and turn off picture in picture. Should work then

Hi: I have been using your solution successfully with a Lenovo TB-8505X. It worked without any issues for 6 months. All of a sudden, tasker now shows no active profiles. If I restart the tablet and open tasker and choose the profile, it works for the first time it receives a notification from the rapid ring app. Thereafter it just displays the Dakboard screens ad does not intercept any ring alerts. Please advise what could be the problem which makes the tasker profiles inactive. Thank you.

I did everything like you said - nothing happens. It’s not even ring if I push the doorbell button.
Try installing the version from the Amazon store not the Google store.
I was doing good until I tried opening the pay store and selected sign in and it wouldn’t allow me sigh
Anyone do this recently? I'm about to toss my HD 8 and saw this. This is a really old video so wasn't sure I should waste my time. Then there is the issue of the battery life on the OLD hd.
This is not working. I bought Today the Fire HD 10 2021. I go to tasker and push (+) to get an Event, then i choose Plugin and AutoNotification an Intercept. But then noting.. I need help. Thanks

Ok, I managed it. Go to settings and give Tasker administrator permissions. If it starts crashing by pushing plugins again after a while, go to settings reverse this and so on. This is the way I did it. Don't know why but it worked....and always push "stop remind me"
Need an update for 2024 now that the rapid ring app shut down 😞
Today is November 25th 2022. I tried this on a fire 10 tablet and it did not work. Did every single step. If someone knows the solution and lives in Southern California, I will pay you to do it for me. Just reply to this message

Found this to much and difgicult as he is running from one thing to anoth and couldnt kerp up
A list of necessary apps would be a big help. Your video is confusing.
He walked you through each app to download.....use the pause button.
The video showed every step. I thought he spoke clearly and slowly enough to follow. Of course numbered steps and apps would be useful not necessary because you'd have to watch the whole video anyways.
