Welcome back. Great reaction ... and you're absolutely right, you don't need to understand a word to enjoy and appreciate the song. As Su-metal once said "Don't think. Feel." I'm still going to tell you what the song is about later of course.😁 The song was composed by the BABYMETAL team although, as you know already, Herman Li and Sam Totman from DragonForce did the guitar arrangements (it is the only BABYMETAL song they were involved in) and recorded the guitars for the album version. This video was from January 2015 at the Saitama Super Arena. Su was 17, Yui and Moa only 15 and that was over 20,000 people completely under their control. Even at that age Su just looks at the crowd, spreads her arms and the crowd opens up for a wall of death (actually several walls of death at that concert as the crowd were in sections. A journalist up in the balcony that night said he counted, I think it was, 21 mosh pits). This was also the end of a 90 minute concert and yes, they had been keeping that same energy up without any drop in quality for the whole time. It is what they do - they appreciate people have often paid a lot of money and travelled a long way to see them, they never give anything less than 100% for every song at every concert, whether that is one of their big arena concerts in Japan or at the many various sized venues as they tour the world. About the song itself - 'Road of Resistance' is a very positive song, it isn't the usual "resist the machine or the system etc" that we might expect from the title. It is about forging your own road even where a road doesn't already exist, not necessarily going the easy way or following the path already made by somebody else, so if the way you want to go has never been trodden you may have to get past the resistance of the undergrowth, obstacles, hurdles and things blocking your way etc to find your own way. It could easily be used to describe BABYMETAL's own story - they could have followed the well trodden path of J-Pop and been very successful, but they chose to go with Metal ... but again they didn't just follow the same old format of every other metal band, they have done it their own way and it hasn't always been an easy route to follow. The studio version is shorter - this had a very extended sing-along section as it was the first time they'd played it at a big show in Japan and, as this was the official video, they actually cut that outro short by at least a couple of minutes for the video - the girls went to each different side of the stage to shout "We are ... BABYMETAL" with as many of the audience as they could get near to. I will echo the suggestions for 'Ijime, Dame, Zettai' (you can call it IDZ, it means Bullying, No More, For Ever) live at Sonisphere 2014 - their first time in the UK, virtually unknown, could hardly speak a word of English, aged 16 and only just turned 15 and faced with over 50k UK metalheads to try to impress.
Thanks very much for the kind words 🙏 I miss Sonisphere UK - I managed to go a few times but it hasn't happen since... 2014! Maybe the organisers decided that they couldn't surpass that Babymetal experience and retired! 😆
Awww, you didn't do the "See you!" part at the end of the video. It's so cute! This video is the one that really made me understand how perfect Babymetal is. The instruments, the singing, the choreo, the crowd control, the stage presence, the lights, the effects... every single aspect is just so professional and on point. Few bands display this level of dedication and raw talent.
Apologies - I did see it but just cut that part from the video. Yes it was cute 😊 It was a fantastic performance all round and very well thought out for both of the songs I've reacted to so far. Really enjoying the "fox hole"!
Thanks from Japan 有難う💛。 This song must be very special for UK, BABYMETAL's second home. It was premiered at the Brixton, London on Nov.8, 2014. The UK audience quickly adjusted and started "wow wow" chant to Su-Metal's direction notwithstanding that no one in the world had listened to this song before. Japanese fans appreciated what the mates in UK did but felt a little bit jealous of them because the live debut of this anthemic song was not done in their homeland. ROR has been played in their almost every show thereafter. In your video, Su shouted some words at 12:30 in your video meaning "Bring them on!". Fans analyzed that the provocative shout was thrown at people who had been ignoring, underrating, mocking, hating and even trying to discredit BABYMETAL. That shout may have been necessary in 2015 but not any longer. She shouted it rarely since then or when she does, it is with her friendly voice and smile that I love.
Great reaction (again)! I´m glad you enjoyed our recommendation so much. The biiiig grin on your face was so much fun to watch!😄 jakemuller8626 filled you in on all the details to this brilliant performance. I witnessed "Road Of Resistance" live myself, but in a much smaller, much more intimate setting (4k people) and with Momometal. Even there the Wall Of Death happened, and it was huge 😄In fact, the crowd demanded it, even before Su-Metal gave the sign (or should I say "command"? 🤔) to split. We still have to learn how to do it in an epic way, like the Japanese crowds do. They are world class crowds, every single time. "Road Of Resistance" is the best show closer ever, IMHO. Second best would be - Ijime, Dame, Zettai live at Sonisphere Festival 2014 jakemuller8626 recommended that song, too.
Good reaction! “RoR" is one of the iconic songs of BABYMETAL. Please keep listening to BABYMETAL!🦊🎸🔥🔥 I'm sure BABYMETAL will be in the UK for their world tour concert! Please join us when BABYMETAL comes near you!
Have you ever seen the movie Cool Runnings? It's about a Jamaican bobsled team trying to get to the Calgary winter Olympics. They were hysterically laughed at when trying to get sponsors. Can you imagine what Kobametal went through pitching the Babymetal concept to the Amuse executives in the beginning? That dude is a legend. ❤🤘❤️
⚡ 💀 💕 / 🏴 🏴 🏴 "Stand up and shout, Shout!, Justice Forever!" - (Road of Resistance) Although Herman Li and Sam Totman contributed guitar tracks for the studio version of 'Road of Resistance', they did not write the song. Official song credits are: Lyrics: KITSUNE of METAL GOD, MK-METAL (Miki Watanabe) and KxBxMETAL (Kei Kobayashi) Music: Mish-Mosh (Nobuaki Miyasaka), NORiMETAL (Norikazu Nakayama) and KYT-METAL (Keiji Kusama). Arrangment: Kyôtô. The BABYMETAL members were 17, 15 and 15 at this January 2015 performance. The venue was Saitama Super Arena (SSA) with a sold out crowd of over 20,000. Guitarists that night were Takayoshi Ohmura and Leda Cygnus. The bassist was BOH, and the drummer was Hideki Aoyama. BABYMETAL's lead singer, Suzuka Nakamoto first appeared at SSA for the 'Animelo Summer Live 2008' as the youngest member of the J-Pop trio Karen Girl's, when she was 10 years old. She's been back many times since then headlining with BABYMETAL. Every BABYMETAL song is different. There are a lot of great songs to follow up with. You might try 'Monochrome' from PIA Arena for a more recent one.
It's funny how you mentioned Arch Enemy. BABYMETAL has had Alissa from Arch Enemy to feature in their song Distortion. She does the growls in that song. But it's only the album version of the song that has her in it. The single version came out a year before the album and that version has just some uncredited growler doing the grolws and then they replaced those with Alissas for the album version. Hopefully my explanation wasn't too confusing:D
👍👍Epic performance. A must see. "Now witness the firepower of this fully armed and operational BABYMETAL!" Great reaction. 🦊🦊🦊 🖖❤ Babymetal - Monochrome (PIA Arena 2023 Live) Eng Subs
Nice! This is an incredible performance, and absolutely sold me on Babymetal when I was still a skeptic in the beginning. While Kami Band’s musicianship is stunningly amazing, hats off to Su, Yui, and Moa for delivering such an incredible performance. And doubly so, as they were only 17/15 at that time (Jan 2015). Just insane! Beyond a band or a group, Babymetal is truly an amazing musical experience. Suggestions: *Rondo of Nightmare (Budokan 2014):* A Su-metal solo showcasing her vocals, and an incredible intro from the original Kami Band East. *YAVA! (Legend MM 2024):* A new performance of a fun, bouncy, and eclectic classic. Babymetal’s current band, Kami Band West does an amazing intro as well. Use “For the Fox God” channel for a version with band solos. 🤘🦊
Enjoying your reactions to BABYMETAL! Long time fan here. Saw them live at the legendary TokyoDome 2016 concert both nights and it was EPIC. (Sold out 55,000 both nights) Recommend a double reaction for you. Tales of the Destinies (only ever performed live once at this concert) which leads into The One (An anthem to the fans who are called “The One”). Tales is a Prog metal masterpiece which tips its hat to Dream Theatre and is super complex. Around 25+ time signature changes!!! During The One, you will see the entire crowd light up. We were all given neck braces when we arrived. They remotely lit up and the effect even caused SuMetal to react when it happened. Magic times. Enjoy! 🤟🏻🤟🏻
@@melvinthinks Tokyo Dome was indeed epic. I watched it on video, and I was overwhelmed by the sheer greatness of this concert. You´ll get a glimpse on it, if you do reactions to "Tales Of The Destinies" and "The One" from the Tokyo Dome 2016 concert. And Su-Metal´s reaction during "The One" is legendary! 😄
You’re right, that was a SHOW!!! I’d definitely endorse the IDZ track from Sonosphere, how to win over 50,000 metalheads. Also the Budokan performance of Rondo of Nightmare with the Gods of Mischief intro, it gives a great view of the Kami band individually. It’s also Su performing on her own, 20 feet up in the air on a small platform with no safety wire and blinded by the spotlight, H&S eat your heart out!!! Anecdotally, while Su was doing her 15 minutes of solo stuff the other two (Moa and Yui were doing their homework!!!!
@@melvinthinks It’s fun watching Moa and Yui racing around the stage, but also how good the Kami band were. I’m sure plenty of others will fill you in on the full story of how they ended up at Sonosphere.
3:07 _Now Pizza time (Pizza time!)_ 🦊🤘🍕 Welcome back to the Foxhole, it's been a while. Nice to see you're back with this suggestion to follow your BM journey, just like here it was the ender for almost every show at the World Tour 2023/2024 and everyone loved to have fun with this one such last month at the Europe Tour and prior to that at Sick New World Festival in Las Vegas, they did a fun interview about it and you can see they were excited with Slipknot returns (another band BM producer loves) they were very supportive during early era or Metal Resistance chapter and now they will be playing at Knotfest Tour, also they played at San Francisco as part of the Babyklok Tour along with Dethklok, and DragonForce were there playing too, another supportive band since BM beginning career and also involved in the album version of this song as well some live collabs together around those years. "Road Of Resistance" is a power/speed metal song, it's one of their most epic anthems and the album version got the guitar arrangements made by Sam Totman and Herman Li from DragonForce. It's all about facing your own path without looking back. DragonForce were very supportive during early era and even played together but in this song the composers were mainly BM and DF guitarists only did a guitar arrangements on the album versión. This was part of the Trilogy Of 2015, live at New Year Fox Festival - Saitama Super Arena in Saitama, by this time their fame was already high due to viral success on YT of Gimme Chocolate! MV, people from all over the world attended this live concert in Japan, and 20K souls witnessed this epic moment. With only 15 and 17 years old this moment will be forever remember when they're performing this song to reminds them all the support they got from their fans no matter where they go, either a small or big stages. The East Kami Band here are magnificent set of elite musicians, they were sent to help the girls with the metal sound, they rotate so probably you won't see some of them in all live concerts (especially the guitarists). All of them are male, they are: - Leda Cygnus, god of guitar, he's the only Kami Band member who's credited as a session musician when recording some albums. - Takayoshi Ohmura, god of guitar, he's Míkio' Fujioka's pupil (another beloved Kami Band guitarist who sadly passed away) and a prodigy child, you'll see his recognizable pink guitar. - BOH, god of bass, he's the bald one and not only got amazing talent but his fun way to enjoy reminds me Flea from RHCP. - Hideki Aoyama, god of drums, comes from a family of expert drummers, and his father was very famous in Japanese music scene. Nowadays they're inactive and the band playing at live tour is the West Kami Band, more of them in newer performances. At the end of their shows they always said and shout "We are BabyMetal!" with the crowd, to make them sure that they're part of this show and project too, is a line borrowed from X-Japan saying it at live concerts too. Btw you pick the right and best version to enjoy this song for the first time, don't care about what anyone says in the comments. Next suggestion: - *Ijime, Dame, Zettai* live at Sonisphere Festival 2014. They already finished the Asian Tour and in October they will be at Knotfest Brazil, Argentina and Chile for the first time in South America, as well Peru with a headlining show, they will come back to the US for another tour and also Mexico will be part of that tour but this time as special guests for Slipknot, we can't wait for it. Hope to see you around with more BM songs. See you next time 🦊🤘🔥
Been a while? I did a reaction in August 😁 But thank you for this insight and recommendation. Two Babymetal reactions so far and hopefully lots more in the future.
@@melvinthinks Doing one reaction per month is gonna take so long to meet the whole BM catalogue, they got over 60+ songs, the regular is at least one reaction per week, the hardcore one, two or even three per day, there are reactors who started with so much enthusiasm but end up leaving the journey not even halfway. Anyway sorry if I'm sounding like thirsty for reactions, I don't wanna you lose the chance to see them live when they're gonna go back to UK or Europe, that it'll be unfortunate having a gap of one month or more and having no news about it from comments or subscribers. Have a nice day.🦊🤘🔥
Unfortunately UA-cam isn't a full time job for me, so I do 2-3 videos per week. And I can't just make BM videos as it 1) isolates the rest of my audience and 2) means I won't get to hear all of the other great music out there I'm yet to discover. Quality over quantity. And it's a marathon, not a sprint 😁 Hopefully the BM fans who do subscribe to this channel will watch some of my other videos in the meantime, and perhaps even discover something new themselves.
Baby Metal fan for 4 years now, has been a fantastic journey. Appreciate you having an open mind when it comes to these magnificent young ladies. This song/performance is their magnum opus. Looking forward to future reactions to their videos.
This performance was the one that officially made me a fan. I wanted to be a part of that so bad. You get it here 6:41 The reason why our fandom is called The One. 🤘🦊🤘
You've pretty much understood what Babymetal is about. Babymetal are about making metal fun and approachable for audiences that would not normally be into metal. In many ways, Babymetal are as much a theatrical production as they are a band, particularly when they are putting on their epic stadium shows in Japan, as they have moving stages, light shows, video walls, pyro, costume changes and choreographed dance routines in addition to the live music. All of this production requires a large staff, who are collectively known at "Team Babymetal" and are led by Babymetal's producer Kobametal. In regard to RoR, Herman Li and Sam Totman from Dragonforce wrote the guitar solos and played on the studio recording, but the rest of the song was written by Babymetal's writing team. As for what you should check out next, my recommendation would be "Megitsune", which is one of the all time fan favourite Babymetal songs. Below are two different versions you could watch: Megitsune official music video: ua-cam.com/video/cK3NMZAUKGw/v-deo.html Megitsune Live @ PIA Arena 2023: ua-cam.com/video/edbqQ-ldF_U/v-deo.html
Thank you! Megitsune is definitely on my list, but there are a few others which based on the comments are the ones most of the viewers think I should do next. But Megitsune is definitely on my list so thanks for the links - I'll definitely go with the live version (always my preference) 😀
Nice reaction. I now recommend reacting to BABYMETAL - Ijime,Dame,Zettai - Live at Sonisphere 2014,UK (OFFICIAL), which is the performance that legitimized BABYMETAL worldwide.
@melvinthinks that performance will be fun to watch knowing how nervous the girls were to go out there, it wasn't sure how well the hostile crowd would receive them, but the confidence and guts they had on stage.. hoo boy you'll love it! They fought through some adversity .. in ear monitors turning off for no cues, Yui's tutu was torn, Moa takes a fall during a fight choreo scene (of course that part we don't see on the official) You'll love it!
@melvinthinks oh also! If you do plan on reacting to this, I would highly recommend skimming over an English translation right before! It can be tricky since Japanese doesn't always translate perfectly but this song is very special and powerful, about anti bullying. The lyrics are pretty heartbreaking actually, yet inspiring. Not all Babymetal songs have heavy messages, but this one does!
Dragonforce actually helped compose this song. Herman Li in Dragonforce's channel talks about the history behind it. ua-cam.com/video/7yvn319JDOY/v-deo.html
Fantastic reaction thank you for sharing! This exact performance is what hooked me on Babymetal, I keep finding new performances and watching them and being amazing and more hooked every time. You (obviously) have no idea what a fantastic time you are in for if you keep diving in to their work, incredible band. Theatrical to the core, and always approaching perfection. **edit** you asked at the very end for a suggestion. I am going to go against the common suggestions and suggest "Amore - Live at Wembley in 2016", specifically the live version from the reactor resource channel (because it isn't a compilation). It has a watermark to help with copyright issues; link for convenience if you want it: (( ua-cam.com/video/35lj_XEjqYU/v-deo.html )).
It is nigh impossible to convince someone of how good (an experience) BABYMETAL really is only through explaining the concept. You need to watch it for yourself. Most people "know" of BABYMETAL and perhaps have heard/seen their buzz Gimme Chocolate music video years ago and have only got a faint idea of what they truly are but at the end of the day, BABYMETAL is a massively underrated band that you can't just dismiss without diving in a little further than the surface of what you may know or have seen in passing. Their liveshows are nothing short of epic, the crowd interaction/participation is massive, the music is cleverly done by talented song writers and artists, the choreography and overall theatrics by certified experienced professionals and live production geniuses. The (deliberately sought after) diversity in their music makes it near impossible to not find atleast a few songs for everybody to like. Their humbleness/modest nature of the members makes it impossible to not appreciate them as individuals. When you truly dive into them, it's very hard to not like them, atleast for what they're trying to achieve. They created a whole new genre credited to them and continue to innovate and break barriers. And I suspect they will continue to grow and become - in just a few years - one of these bands you just can't miss at any given metal festival.
@@melvinthinks This is what got me as well on a late night skimming through UA-cam videos being bored in July of 2019. I had previously seen BABYMETAL music videos but had never seen a live performance. Until I saw one, I thought they were a fun "Japanese" fringe band. Then I stumbled upon a live performance and never looked back.
Really super reaction. Great energy and comments.. Babymetal will always leave you feeling better and they are always positive. On the lyrics. Yeah don't worry. As Su herself has said "Don't think, feel." However small thing and I doubt I'm the first and won't be the last to mention it. You should always play live performances to the end. "See you!"
In Japan they have what is called Visual Keu. BabyMetal is Visual Kei, they have a whole Visual concept that they use for every thing from costumes to performance. Check out Versailles Revenant Choir live. Their Visual concept is they are Baroque Era Vampires who wear French Rococo inspired outfits. And all their songs relate to this concept.
Great reaction, glad to see you enjoying it all so far. I'd love to see more reactions to Babymetal and it seems like so far you've only done Headbanger so you've only seen them in their original formation. As many others have said ijime, dame, zettai live at Sonisphere 2014 was a benchmark performance for them as it was their first big metal festival outside of Japan. I would like to see you react to Akatsuki, both the unfinished and finished version. It's a piano ballad in the unfinished version and then it gets the full Babymetal treatment 🦊🤘
I'm late to the party, but yes it's only ROR and Headbanger I've done so far. But the good news is? There's plenty more for me to uncover 😁 Thank you for the kind words.
I swear Babymetal creates new synapses in the brain! It was so jarring when I first heard it, but now, it all sounds completely normal to me haha. Now partially thats because theyve grown out of their child voices so the dichotomy of sounds isnt as drastic, but they do still purposely use cutesy child voices for specific parts of songs, especially their old ones. Oh im 47, my wife and I saw them twice in Texas last year and they blew me away! Their stage presence i swear is something you can actually feel. Their hard work is inspiring and their positive messaging is awesome! Keep up with some of the older stuff but im excited to see what you think of the new! They've only improved their skills tenfold. The dancing is really tight with lote of quick movements now. Its mezmerizing to watch how in sync they are in person. Su's voice is one of the best in the industry now also! And as always the backing band (though different folks now) is just insane top 1% musicians!
I'm definitely looking forward to hearing their progression. And I find it so cool that you and your wife can enjoy them live together. My partner isn't keen on them so I still need to convert her! lol
I discovered babymetal from their collab with electric callboy (first heard of them when they where touring in Europe with sabaton in 2023), and now its one of my favorite bands. Currently my favorites include: Ijime, Dame, Zettai (PIA Arena 2023 Live) Catch Me If You Can (with Kami Band Intro) Headbanger (Momoko ver.) (Legend MM 2024 Live) iine! (PIA Arena 2023 Live)
I've always thought of BM as a combination between a metal concert and a Broadway show. For some fans it's a whole ecosystem consisting of lore and personal histories of the members going back to their participation in Sakura Gakuin. The level of fan commitment means that it's probably a good thing that BM's management tightly controls all media around Momoko, Su and Moa and they are almost entirely anonymous when not performing as BM.
Exactly!!! This was kind of my first thought when I reacted to Headbanger last month. It's like a rock opera. I hope they are afforded some anonymity as they've been doing it since such a young age. I guess most people want them to have longevity, so they need some isolation from all of the adulation.
@@melvinthinks Privacy is generally respected in Japan so they are ok at home and they don't have any individual or personal social media accounts open to the public. The ultimate in this anonymity is Yui who hasn't been photographed or heard from since she left BM in 2018.
@@melvinthinks (ohh, god, so many typos in my comments, anyway...) I wouldn't worry, it's more important to be authentic than right. You've been on UA-cam for a while, so you probably don't need me to say it, but just in case: if you see negative comments, our brains make them stand out. And the more popular you get, the more negative comments you get as well, so it also works the other way around: more negative comments just means you are growing your audience. Also in a Babymetal fan base, there are many people for which the English language is not their first/primary language. So what might sometimes seems negative, it just meant to point something out or constructive feedback.
Unfortunately it comes with the territory, I guess 😔 I try and bring positivity and energy to my videos and the internet but you can't win over everyone. I just try and have fun and make videos I'd want to personally watch. This isn't a job. This is me expressing myself and discovering great new music 🤟
Another great reaction. You are officially hooked! Now come an 'ave a go if you think you're 'ard enough and check out the last song and explanation in my comments on your Headbanger reaction!
Noooo Melvin, you committed a sin by not watching till the absolute end... Just giving you a hard time on that as I assume you likely did watch it but just cut it out in editing. Seems you also have an overwhelming amount of people suggesting Ijime, Dame, Zettai at Sonisphere 2014 for the next song, and I would agree on that. As that is a breakout moment for Babymetal, going to a crowd where they were practically no one to... well, I won't spoil the end of that for you.
@@melvinthinks No worries, as I said, that's what I figured you did haha, typically though, the fans do like to watch till the very end even on reaction videos. Will wait patiently for IDZ then.
I stumbled across your reaction a bit late. I enjoyed it a lot. I have watched your Headbanger, Ratatata, and this one so far. I suggest Kagerou with Kami Band intro for your next reaction. It gives each band member a moment to shine. Here is a link to a decent copy. ua-cam.com/video/Hg3QsPI3x1M/v-deo.html. This song features the West Kami Band. The West Kami Band performs with Babymetal when they are on this side of the pond. (USA)
Better late than never 😊 Rondo Of Nightmare will most definitely be next BM reaction, due to a recent poll. But I could pretty much react to anything from this band.
Well, I appreciate your feedback, but this is my style. Which admittedly isn't going to win over everyone. But hope you enjoyed the video nevertheless.
@@melvinthinks LMAO!!! I might have enjoyed it but I only watched the first four minutes or so then stopped because you pause too much! You shouldn't have to pause more than three times during an average video - maybe four since this is a slightly longer video. But it's your channel; you do as you do.
I wasn't aware that the internet and expression had rules. It's a reaction video. Therefore... I react. If I'm limiting myself to some made up law of "only 3 pauses per video" then it becomes a system that everyone must adhere to and then every reaction video is literally... the same. But hey, you like what you like and I'm not here to please everyone. I just think your comment is bollocks. That's all.
@@melvinthinks Clearly you are reading something that isn't there: if you look again, I said "You shouldn't . . . .", not "You have to . . . ." This was NOT stated a "rule", it was merely a suggestion. Furthermore, I go on to state that "it's your channel; you do as you do" - if you want to pause a video every five seconds and ramble for five minutes before resuming, knock yourself out. Apparently you are adverse to constructive criticism, and are quick to jump on a negative aspect when there isn't any. So excuse me for "expressing" my reaction to your reaction: evidently only a chosen few are allowed to do so in your world. Farewell and adieu. Good luck with the channel.
Road of Resistance: Live In Japan 🇯🇵 @"Saitama Super Arena (SSA):- "Road of Resistance" is a song by the Japanese Kawaii metal band Babymetal. The song was released worldwide as a digital single on February 1, 2015 by Toy's Factory, serving as the lead single off the international re-release of the album Babymetal, as well the opening track from Metal Resistance. Su-Metal was 10 when she performed with Karen Girls at the SSA (SAITAMA SUPER ARENA). The Arena that night holds about 20000 Babymetal fans but when you see the centrepiece Island and the two curve bridge, it can hold up to 30000 or even up to 40000 depends on the configuration of Babymetal concert for each tour they performed. This song is co-written by Dragonforce with Herman Li and Sam Totman plays the guitar 🎸 solos, but Kami Band live show is brutal and tight. This is a classic Power Metal genre or speed metal as some might refer to. Bands like Dragonforce, Helloween and even Sabaton do power metal genre. Arkadia from Metal Galaxy Album is the successor to Road Of Resistance. At 17 Su-Metal alongside Yuimetal and Moametal who is 15 at that time, gave a perfect 👌 performance on how live show should be. This performance alone cemented my love ❤️ and appreciation for Babymetal. Kitsune Up 🦊🦊🦊🤘🤘🤘😍💕🌸🇯🇵🇸🇬#notacult. . Babymetal singles chronology:- •"Megitsune" (2013). •"Road of Resistance" (2015). •"Gimme Chocolate!!" (2015). Background and release:- "Road of Resistance" includes guest appearances by DragonForce guitarists Herman Li and Sam Totman. The song would be used to mark the beginning of the band's lore, Metal Resistance Episode III, at the concert held on November 8, 2014 at O2 Brixton Academy in London, which was also the final tour date for the band's Babymetal World Tour 2014. A trailer for the song was released on January 5, 2015, integrating footage from the debut performance of the song in London. The song was first released as a digital bonus track off the live album Live at Budokan: Red Night, with limited editions of the album containing a download card with a code to download the song at no additional charge. The song was later released as a dedicated digital single on the iTunes Store on February 1, 2015. Li and Totman are featured on guitars, although they are listed as featured artists in various regions of the re-release of the album Babymetal, on which the song appears as a bonus track, mainly in the United Kingdom. Composition:- Rolling Stone magazine described the song as "power metal" with "shiny pop harmonies". Rock Sound called the song "everything we’d expect from [Babymetal] with a bit of Dragonforce’s exhilarating, flame-fingered guitar added in for good measure." Matt Evans of The List called the song an "empowering hyperspeed anthem". According to Kadokawa, the song consists of twin shred guitars courtesy of Li and Totman, with a dynamic sound derived of melodic speed metal. The lyrics are described as a narrative on the Metal Resistance, which the band adopted on their world tour. It has also been considered the "final stage" of Babymetal and the prologue to Metal Resistance, and a transition performance that demonstrates the band's growth from the previous album. According to Su-metal, the song refers to the Metal Resistance lore, described as "the story of Babymetal traveling across the world in the hopes of creating a new metal to unify the world as we break through the barriers of language and borders. In the middle of the song there is a part where we go, ‘Wow, Wow’ and this is where our fans from around the world can sing with us at our concerts. The arena features a gigantic movable section of seating which can reduce capacity for smaller events and create a more intimate setting. Welcome back. Great reaction ... and you're absolutely right, you don't need to understand a word to enjoy and appreciate the song. As Su-metal once said "Don't think. Feel."
I'm still going to tell you what the song is about later of course.😁
The song was composed by the BABYMETAL team although, as you know already, Herman Li and Sam Totman from DragonForce did the guitar arrangements (it is the only BABYMETAL song they were involved in) and recorded the guitars for the album version.
Sorry for not commenting more. I still unequivocally love this band and all your knowledge. Looking forward to November and my side of the pond.
@@michelm.6033 No worries, I know I have more time to comment than most. I can only envy you November - have a great time.👍🦊
Thanks very much for the kind words 🙏 I miss Sonisphere UK - I managed to go a few times but it hasn't happen since... 2014! Maybe the organisers decided that they couldn't surpass that Babymetal experience and retired! 😆
@@melvinthinks That must have been it - they peaked.😁
Last time I went to Knebworth (before it was Sonisphere) Led Zeppelin headlined.🤘
You might be jinxing the bands! lol
The UK crowds definitely love a "wow wow" or football type chant 😁
Second best would be
- Ijime, Dame, Zettai live at Sonisphere Festival 2014
jakemuller8626 recommended that song, too.
Thank you! 😁 I did really enjoy it, which I think you can tell 😆 Two comments in and I can already see a trend on the recommendation 🤔
@@melvinthinks You´ll love "IDZ", too, I believe. It is an iconic performance, just like "RoR".
The Fox God welcomes everyone! 🤘🦊🤘
I hope so! I'm in for the long haul now 😆
Thanks for this great reaction and your enthusiastic response, BABYMETAL deserves it.🦊✨
Thank you too!
Good reaction! “RoR" is one of the iconic songs of BABYMETAL. Please keep listening to BABYMETAL!🦊🎸🔥🔥
I'm sure BABYMETAL will be in the UK for their world tour concert! Please join us when BABYMETAL comes near you!
Thank you and I'll definitely keep my eye out for any UK shows 🤘
Have you ever seen the movie Cool Runnings? It's about a Jamaican bobsled team trying to get to the Calgary winter Olympics. They were hysterically laughed at when trying to get sponsors. Can you imagine what Kobametal went through pitching the Babymetal concept to the Amuse executives in the beginning? That dude is a legend. ❤🤘❤️

Best reaction for this song I've seen in a while!
I'm chuffed to hear that! Thank you ever so much! 😊🙏

"Stand up and shout, Shout!, Justice Forever!" - (Road of Resistance)
Although Herman Li and Sam Totman contributed guitar tracks for the studio version of 'Road of Resistance', they did not write the song.
Official song credits are:
Lyrics: KITSUNE of METAL GOD, MK-METAL (Miki Watanabe) and KxBxMETAL (Kei Kobayashi)
Music: Mish-Mosh (Nobuaki Miyasaka), NORiMETAL (Norikazu Nakayama) and KYT-METAL (Keiji Kusama).
Monochrome is definitely on my list. Which keeps getting bigger! lol
Wow! That's so cool - you learn something new every day 😀
👍👍Epic performance. A must see. "Now witness the firepower of this fully armed and operational BABYMETAL!" Great reaction. 🦊🦊🦊 🖖❤

I've told you before, it's not a small moon ,it's a Babymetal.
That's to big to be a Babymetal.
Thank you!
Suggestions:
*Rondo of Nightmare (Budokan 2014):* A Su-metal solo showcasing her vocals, and an incredible intro from the original Kami Band East.
*YAVA! (Legend MM 2024):* A new performance of a fun, bouncy, and eclectic classic. Babymetal’s current band, Kami Band West does an amazing intro as well. Use “For the Fox God” channel for a version with band solos.
🤘🦊
To have that much confidence at such a young age is admirable. Most people would be bricking it in front of that crowd! lol
@@melvinthinks yeah, or learning how not be socially awkward in school 🤣 🤘🦊

Enjoy! 🤟🏻🤟🏻
Thank you and I'm definitely enjoying discovering them and reading the comments from you all. Your live BM experience sound EPIC!
My original plan for the next reaction was "Rondo..." but "IDZ" has popped up quite a lot and I've only read a few comments so far! lol
@@melvinthinks It’s fun watching Moa and Yui racing around the stage, but also how good the Kami band were. I’m sure plenty of others will fill you in on the full story of how they ended up at Sonosphere.

Welcome back to the Foxhole, it's been a while.
All of them are male, they are:
- Leda Cygnus, god of guitar, he's the only Kami Band member who's credited as a session musician when recording some albums.
Next suggestion:
- *Ijime, Dame, Zettai* live at Sonisphere Festival 2014.
Plus, I follow BM on various gig platforms so if they do play live, I'll be alerted 🤟
Baby Metal fan for 4 years now, has been a fantastic journey. Appreciate you having an open mind when it comes to these magnificent young ladies. This song/performance is their magnum opus. Looking forward to future reactions to their videos.
I've certainly enjoyed what I've heard so far and look forward too more 😊
You earned my like with your comment! Well deserved anyway.
"It's happy and bouncy and makes you feel good!" Yes indeed, this is BABYMETAL 🤘🦊🤘
I frigging loved it! Such a feel good band and song to listen to. Thank you for watching and the like 😬
This performance was the one that officially made me a fan.

Below are two different versions you could watch:
Megitsune official music video: ua-cam.com/video/cK3NMZAUKGw/v-deo.html
Megitsune Live @ PIA Arena 2023: ua-cam.com/video/edbqQ-ldF_U/v-deo.html
I second this!
I'm really intrigued by this performance now, especially as Sonisphere UK was such a great festival before it disbanded 😪
@melvinthinks that performance will be fun to watch knowing how nervous the girls were to go out there, it wasn't sure how well the hostile crowd would receive them, but the confidence and guts they had on stage.. hoo boy you'll love it!
They fought through some adversity .. in ear monitors turning off for no cues, Yui's tutu was torn, Moa takes a fall during a fight choreo scene (of course that part we don't see on the official)
You'll love it!
I'll try and check it out - thanks!
You're very welcome and thank you for watching and the recommendation 👍
I think you just need to watch a few of these live performances to be convinced, to be honest with you. That's what convinced me 😁🤘🦊
@@melvinthinks This is what got me as well on a late night skimming through UA-cam videos being bored in July of 2019. I had previously seen BABYMETAL music videos but had never seen a live performance. Until I saw one, I thought they were a fun "Japanese" fringe band. Then I stumbled upon a live performance and never looked back.
This is generally why I prefer reacting to live performances vs MVs, because you see the true identity of a band.
one of the best live i love from BM 🔥🔥🔥 i really really jealous for the crowd can enjoying that momment ❤❤❤
Great performance 👍
Really super reaction. Great energy and comments.. Babymetal will always leave you feeling better and they are always positive. On the lyrics. Yeah don't worry. As Su herself has said "Don't think, feel." However small thing and I doubt I'm the first and won't be the last to mention it. You should always play live performances to the end. "See you!"
Thank you! 😀 And duly noted re cutting the last few seconds. I thought the BM fans would skip it so I edited it out. My bad, clearly.
Nice reaction. I see more Babymetal in the furure for you. Me too
Definitely! Cheers Steve 😊
Music has no Boundaries, and BABYMETAL proves this bigtime.
Well, they certainly convinced me to love them. And I'm a musical snob 😆
absolutely amazing please more Babymetal 🥺🥺💜🫶🏻🫶🏻💜
Thank you 😊
In Japan they have what is called Visual Keu.
Cool - thanks!
SEE YOU😝🤘🦊🍅🍔

Nice one. . Babymetal is a fantastic live performance band in the world
They are pretty epic live, it must be said 😁
I swear Babymetal creates new synapses in the brain!
My partner isn't keen on them so I still need to convert her! lol

Thanks for the great reaction!🤘🦊♪
You're most welcome. Thank you for watching 😊
Also recommend Lovebites Scream for Me live Daughters of the Dawn. These ladies are Female Dragonforce, they even toured with them.
I think you could recommend any of their songs tbh with you! lol
Please react to BabyMetal more!!❤
I certainly will be 😊 But I also need to give love to lots of other bands too, as there is a lot of great music out there.
I discovered babymetal from their collab with electric callboy (first heard of them when they where touring in Europe with sabaton in 2023), and now its one of my favorite bands.
Currently my favorites include:
Ijime, Dame, Zettai (PIA Arena 2023 Live)
Catch Me If You Can (with Kami Band Intro)
Headbanger (Momoko ver.) (Legend MM 2024 Live)
iine! (PIA Arena 2023 Live)
I'm new to both EC and BM too! Colab video reaction is out soon 😁
I would definitely take part in a Babymetal workout, and may or may not sport a little red puffy skirt as I did so. Ooooh oh a ooooooooh
🤣😆😂
Oh, if you want a classic song again, you can go Megitsune, if you want one of the recent hits, you can try Metali (feat Tom Morello).
I'm a big RATM fan, so am definitely game for Metali one day!
The ultimate in this anonymity is Yui who hasn't been photographed or heard from since she left BM in 2018.
next track should be - Babymetal Ijime, Dame, Zettai Live at Sonisphere 2014
You'll have to wait and see 😜

"adore and live this band" - well, they are the ones who started kawiai metal, kawaii meaning: cute/adorable. So I guess it fits. 🙂
Sometimes I say stuff and it actually holds a deeper meaning! Other times, I just talk and complete waffle comes out of my mouth! 😆

@@melvinthinks I've been listening to the same 9 BM songs for two years now cause otherwise I get overwhelmed 😂😂😂
I'm seeing them live in May next year so I need to get up to speed 😂😆😁
Another great reaction. You are officially hooked!
Now come an 'ave a go if you think you're 'ard enough and check out the last song and explanation in my comments on your Headbanger reaction!
Hahaha 😂 Cheers Alan 👍
You stopped it before their sign off, go back and listen to the end.
I did see it. Don't worry 😉

Thanks for the sub🙏
Noooo Melvin, you committed a sin by not watching till the absolute end... Just giving you a hard time on that as I assume you likely did watch it but just cut it out in editing. Seems you also have an overwhelming amount of people suggesting Ijime, Dame, Zettai at Sonisphere 2014 for the next song, and I would agree on that. As that is a breakout moment for Babymetal, going to a crowd where they were practically no one to... well, I won't spoil the end of that for you.
I did see the end - just cut that part from the video. Apologies! 😀 This Sonisphere performance has got me sold so it's just a matter of time 👍
@@melvinthinks No worries, as I said, that's what I figured you did haha, typically though, the fans do like to watch till the very end even on reaction videos. Will wait patiently for IDZ then.
I'll definitely take this on board! Clearly an error of judgement on my behalf, as I wrongly assumed people would skip that fade out part.
@@melvinthinks For many other bands, could be quite possible, however, Babymetal, no, they'll watch it from start to the very very end.
Too much pausing. ☹
Keep rockin’ BABYMETAL!!!
KITSUNE UP!!! 🤘🦊🤘
You didn't let it finish. Disrespectful!
I didn't meant any disrespect. I just cut that part out when I was editing. Apologies.
Road of Resistance: Live In Japan 🇯🇵 @"Saitama Super Arena (SSA):-
"Road of Resistance" is a song by the Japanese Kawaii metal band Babymetal. Kitsune Up 🦊🦊🦊🤘🤘🤘😍💕🌸🇯🇵🇸🇬#notacult. .
Babymetal singles chronology:-
•"Megitsune" (2013).
•"Road of Resistance" (2015).
•"Gimme Chocolate!!" (2015).
Background and release:-
"Road of Resistance" includes guest appearances by DragonForce guitarists Herman Li and Sam Totman.
Composition:-
Rolling Stone magazine described the song as "power metal" with "shiny pop harmonies".
I hope people will listen to our album and support us at our shows." Yuimetal stated in an interview with Metal Hammer that "Road of Resistance" is her favorite song from Metal Resistance, explaining that it "has been performed at so many concerts, so a lot of memories are jam-packed. The lyrics are positive, the sound is so cool, and [the] dance is so powerful."

•Mixed by Ettore Rigotti

Saitama Super Arena:-
"Saitama Super Arena (さいたまスーパーアリーナ, Saitama Sūpā Arīna) is a multi-purpose indoor arena located in Chūō-ku, Saitama, Saitama Prefecture, Japan. It opened preliminarily on May 5, 2000, and then officially opened on September 1 of the same year. Its spectator capacity is 36,500 at maximum settings,[3] making it the second-largest indoor arena in the world. The main arena capacity is between 19,000 and 22,500".
•Owner: Saitama Arena Corp.
•Capacity: 36,500 (stadium setting) 18,000 (arena setting).
The arena was designed by Dan Meis, who at the time was working for architecture firm Ellerbe Becket, together with Nikken Sekkei. Meis's design was selected as a result of an international design competition. The arena features a gigantic movable section of seating which can reduce capacity for smaller events and create a more intimate setting.
It is a favorite venue for puroresu (Japanese professional wrestling) and mixed martial arts (MMA). It has also hosted other sports events such as boxing, basketball, volleyball, tennis, ice hockey, and gymnastics. It is the only Japanese arena equipped especially for American football.
It formerly housed the John Lennon Museum, which displayed John Lennon memorabilia and closed in 2010.
