Yup. It's a rip off. When the servers were shut down, Activision and Hasbro needed to refund everyone at least half of the cost of the game. They will end up paying us 7 times what they owe us for stealing from us.
Easily my favorite aspect of every WFC and FOC design is the breathing effect all the bots have in robot and vehicle mode. With the breathing being substituted for moving mechanical bits to give them so much more life.
I love that design aspect too, like their very bodies were itching to transform, even as a kid I was always a little disappointed the custom characters didn't do that in multiplayer, or the arms down idle animation
Adored this customization system, just enough options to create your one characters. Plus the option to change wheels, cannon type and wings were not needed, but definitely a fantastic addition
I like how all of these designs are somewhere in between the G1 designs and Michael Bay’s designs in terms of visual noisiness. There’s enough detail that they’re still interesting to look at, but the details are done in a way that doesn’t compromise the visual distinctness between each of them. Edit: I find Blastoff’s design to be so goofy in comparison to the others. It’s my personal headcanon that one day he was drunk on energon and asked some hospital to put every propulsive part in that city into the back end of his vehicle form. It’s just so goofy, having a normal front end and then the back end is just a clusterfuck of rocket parts that’s four, maybe five times larger.
You can tell which ones you play in the campaign, because of how many moving parts the vehicle modes have when they're just sitting there. If there's more than like six moving parts, then it's one of the more highly detailed models from the campaign mode, that you are meant to play as

A really impressive detail that I've noticed is their transformed appearances. When they came to Earth, the Cybertronians scanned various vehicles on Earth that resembled them. But since this takes place on Cybertron before they came to Earth, they don't have anything to copy, so we see what their original forms looked like.

Interesting how some of the Destroyers, Titans, and Scientists are so fidgety in their vehicle/non-humanoid forms compared to the Infiltators as a whole.
Infiltrators have far less mass they need to move around. Scientists need to fly, Titans need to move around a whole cannon, and Destroyers need to have a balance between power and speed.
It's interesting how they are animating them. Basically, they've made 2 models for each character, one being robot mode, other being vehicle mode. Then during tranformation, they force robot to do some sick backflip or smth, moving few parts around, and during that time, they spawn vehicle model inside. That's why Breakdown suddenly becomes twice as big, or how in Jazz's transformation you can see 2 front bumpers. Then after few frames they delete the robot model and move some aparts around the vehicle, to create an illusion of transformation. I still think it looks a bit rough, but 8 years ago? Hell yeah, that's quite good.
I know the servers are down, but man sometimes I just wish I could just go into the editor and mess around, even without being able to play the mulitplayer

As much as I love both games, I always felt that war for Cybertron sprites were better proportioned, fall of Cybertron’s sprites always felt like the legs were too short, making them look small as all and dumpy
This is what the gaming industry is missing. A great multiplayer Transformers game that isnt riddled with microtransactions and bullshit. Just fun and good memories. I guess all of that was lost with the Xbox 360.
One thing I love about the WFC and FoC games is that the vehicle forms don't actually look like vehicles a human could just hop into. They're vehicle shaped, but are primarily designed for practicality and performance, rather than comfortability and compatibility for smaller life forms. No need for interiors, windshields, etc. I'd say that the Cybertronian transformations are a lot more efficient and powerful than the earth forms they adopt. Side note: Noticed you didn't include Arcee in this.
My absolutely favourite Transformers character here in FoC is Metroplex. I just love these titan so damned much 😍. He is so huge/tall, has a cool character design/model and own an massive body (because of his tall size) with incredible powerful weapons/canons. He is a god damned running battleship or a running Himalaya mountain 😂. I also like Trypticon very much and also him is very huge/tall, has an really greateful character design/model and also him is very very powerful beast but he is still much more smaller than Metroplex. Metroplex is one of the Transformers "kings/gods" in my opinion besides other powerful titans and under the 2 supreme Transformers gods: Unicron (Decepticon) and Primus (Autobot). Metroplex i love you about all 🤩.
I really like Ultra Magnus' vehicle mode. The only one that gets the closest to a pickup truck. (My vehicle of choice.) Optimus Prime is a close second. Everyone else, except for G1 Optimus and Slug, seem more SUV-ish.
Has anyone noticed that the combaticons and the decepticons from rid (2001) are very similar? Onslaught/mega-octane Vortex/ro-tor Blast off/movor Swindle/rollbar Brawl/armorhide Bruticus/ruination
While some gameplay (that you can play as) of these characters is lost due to them being exclusive to multiplayer (FoC) and Escalation (ROTDS,Both game's servers were shut down for good and therefore you can no longer play these characters)...for example you can't play as the insecticons Kickback,Sharpshot and Hardshell anymore... BUT,there is one campaign mission in Rise of the dark spark where you play as Sharpshot...so if you for another example miss playing as Sharpshot...get the Rise of the dark spark game

Man it's been years since I played this video game. One thing I like about this game is that I get to play as Grimlock and the Dinobots.
The sad thing is, that dragstrip had more screentime here then in the entire G1 Cartoon

Silver Bolt has a cool robot mode and transformation. His jet mode is interesting with those segmented parts on the top.

The reason for that is because the Commandos' original figures from the RiD '01 toyline were direct repaints of the G1 Combaticons
This game had one of the best characters selection. So many transformers to choose from. Know one should’ve been the same bot in a lobby.
