This song was reflecting what was happening then, in the early 80's. It is so sad that it also reflects what is happening in 2024.

Pure Class band. In their early live shows half the crowd would get on the stage to dance with them, They encouraged this so everyone had a great time. This song was a vision of the future and in 2024 we are there.

Trying to get to the gig and then trying to get back home was another thing, eh kids?! Specials had a message. A message to youth. It's still relevant today. They came to my down just outside Edinburgh when they played there in the early 80's. I met Rico and Terry who were out for a walk overlooking the river beside their hotel in South Queensferry. They were so nice. Asked a thousand questions about Scotland and life. We are all just the same. You see, they met foreigners and we met foreigners and no harm was done. Teach this.

2024 and can you believe I only heard this song for the first time this week on the radio - can’t believe it’s passed me by. It grabbed me straight away. Great that we can discover songs many years after they first game out. Still very poignant too sadly.
Utter chaos on stage, as the magnificent Specials, put on a grand show, amazing how they could still keep the song in tune with all that going on, shows how damn good they were🏁
There's no way you could play this music and not dance around like a fool. I just love, love this footage.
Most of the credit for that goes to John Bradbury. He kept the beat on the drums, plus those rapid fire fills propelling the song forward. Without him, the song would've collapsed into a chaotic mess. Kudos also to Roddy Radiation for his lead guitar syncing in nicely with drums - and he also stayed out of the craziness up front.
Man. I don’t wanna sound like an old head but fr I hate the fact that at live gigs these days everyone’s on their fucking phones filming and the crowd is deaaaad. These really were the fuckin days for live music. The energy was flowinggg

Currently in the middle of learning this bass line, I got it down pretty much but I gotta work on my timing before I can nail it.

My favourite band of all time, I fell in love with the specials way back in 1979 when i was 12 and i was on holiday in weston super mare and I've had the honour and privilege of seeing them loads of times over the years and one of my favourite gigs ever was during their 30th anniversary tour in June 2009 at the O2 academy at Brixton, My all time favourite song is "Do Nothing" I just wanted to say that "wherever you are Terry I hope that you have finally found the peace that you so deserve, i miss you so much and i still can't believe you are gone but you will never ever be forgotten, rest in peace Terry all my love Carol" xxxx ❤❤
