This is late but for whoever is confused about the music this is what worked for me:
Start when the words start. "Papa loves mambo" is the first shuffle hop step (1, 2, 3, 4). The second is the short music bit and then the ball change stomp is "Mama loves mambo"
(This next bit is, I think, a slightly easier interpretation)
Stop for 2 counts and start the ball heel before the next words start.
    "Getting" is the chug
Then do the heel step moves and jump out on "wow" and come together on "oo"
    Hope this helps :)

Intelligence. Much appreciated about the not going beyond the support leg. I'm starting tap in my eighth decade. Avoiding alignment problems is pretty important. Plus, you don't dumb it down, all the while giving the script so the right brain is as happy as the left. Brilliant. You're fun too. Keep it up.

I’m so glad I found you! At 55 I’m finally learning tap, did ballet, Fosse Jazz, some hip hop, musical theater. I have a tap routine request to The Beatles “When I’m 64”. I can imagine sort of a simple, slow, soft shoe? I have older and younger cousins who learned tap and I’d love for us to perform it at our next family reunion (hopefully soon...).

Hi Kelly. Thanks for this wonderful video. I think it'd be very useful a metronome beat reference just to know the right tempo for beginers or rookies or perhaps a musical track in order to step the correct beat. What is the right speed for stepping paradiddles ? Kind regards. Andy. Caracas - Venezuela. July 13 2018

Thanks! a little constructive critisism - remember what you said - you are better at tapping than talking - what we like is keeping the clips full of action - show don't tell kinda thing. Then we are actually doing the stuff and it's fun instead of a zillion introductions. see others how they do it, I myself get quite bored with waiting and just wanted to practice more in order to get the hang of it, and advane quicker.
    Thank you!
