I think that this channel could be succesfull with illustrated thumbnails, they just need to be a little more cartoonish and a lot more colorful. I understand what Matt are going for, a more stylish and simplistic look, but I guess it's not for everyone... Most of the big gaming channels do illustrated thumbnails, and it work for them. You can do something like Wildcat style, but maybe more flat and abstract, and it could be pretty clickable I think.

I really like the thumbnails too but many other people found it not eye catching so they just wouldn’t watch when they didn’t even watch the video or look at the tittle. I guess it’s better for the channel and if Matt finds a better way to create this thumbnails for other people to click I would really like it in all honestly. Also good job on the illustrious Lovans!

ngl its real funny to me , seeing how matt has changed over the years. From his 'little' videos (like the dollar store ones[with bryan] , his music vids , the sketches he used to do back in the day , ...)
all the way to these vlog vids.
And still after all these years im a massive fan of the channel and that's not gone change for a long time.

The “skits” are nice and I like them but I gotta say, this “natural day in Hi5” where you kind of just follow Matt is really nice and reminds me of early Matthias where he kind of did vlogs. Also I really liked the illustrated thumbnails.
I agree. I like that he shows us how he has put busines practices in place to have the studeo run. It has helped me in my career and i miss it when he just does 'skits'
Thea de Lange I do kinda miss the “skits” too because I found it funny how he starred at the camera sometimes plus the “skits” got my attention and made me want to see the end. (Lol) But I did kinda miss the walking around and seeing what happened at high5 plus I really like the illustrations but it wasn’t getting people attention which idk why. Idk I really like both contents the “skits” and just the normal walking around with a camera.

Please do more of these regular vlogs. It's like a relaxing kickback that I can just watch without having to think about what bit is going on and whos acting. I like this style a lot better. Takes me back to the old Hi5 vlogs that I adored and watched all the time.

But it all changed when team edge left hi5. Only my thighs CEO of all elements could stop them, but when the world needed him, he vanished. Joey and Brian found him, although his skit knowledge is great. He has to learn how to make real vlogs on his vlog channel

This my favorite Hi-5 channel. It's actually one of my favorite channels in general. I have been loving the direction he took this channel. The Office and Parks and Rec vibes are awesome. Matthias is a talented man, and I don't say stuff like that unless I truly believe it. You're doing an amazing job with this channel Matthias. Please keep it going in the same direction. ;) P.S. I am also a chronic over thinker, so I know how you feel.

Honestly when I saw the Illustrated thumbnails I never clicked so fast in my life, I loved them and was sad that you changed them (which your thumbnail style now is amazing as well) I loved that it was the pop art style it's one of my favorite styles to create and to look at and it stood out from all of the other videos on my subscription page. RIP Illustrated thumbnails you will be missed we didnt have enough time to see your true beauty 😔

ZeroDestiny No. Maybe that’s a different rule, but the 80/20 rule in business is that 20% of the time is spent producing 80% of the results and 80% of the time is spent creating the other 20% of the results, so the theory is that a business should only allocate their resources to the 20% of the time that creates 80% of the results (and leave out the other 20%) in order to increase productivity.
I actually really liked this type of video, I actually plan on learning more about the Paratos Principle, as a younger person I will definitely use some of the stuff he talked about today. even though some may think it is boring, I think it is fascinating seeing as I want to be a profitable CEO of a company like Matthias, which I know would be rare, but also not a lot of people get to see what really goes on with Hi 5 and the deals and contracts and all of the legal stuff they have to do. Honestly, I would love to be chill like matt as a CEO, considering it is a pretty chill job. It makes workers actually want to work better because you're treating them the way they should be even if they do something wrong doesn't mean yell at them, sure if they do something on purpose, then a punishment should be given to the said person, but if they just make a mistake like forgetting to turn on a camera or accidentally swear or something like that, instead give them tips on how to make sure not to do that instead of saying 1 strike three you're out, I also understand when people are hard on their workers, it will give them a mentality of if I don't do it right I'm getting fired, but also if you're chill and nice and such then they also thing, man I will try my hardest not to mess up, but if I do I know I will at least learn more, I want to strive to get workers to tell the CEO when they aren't comfortable doing something or something like that. I also get that being chill can make more mistakes because they also would think, oh yeah sure, I can do whatever I want whenever and I won't be fired. I think Matt is really good at being chill and strict, even though we don't really see the strict side. I also think it is important to know your co-workers on a friend basis, like my dad and all of his friends play video games almost every Thursday, talking about how the week went and sometimes they just say, no talking about work, just laughs. I know matt wont read this but it doesn't hurt to try, if you're reading this then thanks for reading the entire thing
I actually really enjoy this new style of videos because I enjoy learning about how companies operate, especially Hi5 since I have loved this company for so long. It’s cool to see how the channels I’ve watched for so long are organized and what the overall company goal is. Hearing you talk about your visions and stuff was really nice cuz it also reminded of the past years when you had the og Matthias channel with all your fun skits and when you recorded Team Edge in your garage and backyard. How things have changed.

Mathias, your discussion on the creative and the critic is so dead on and relatable. I get a Zen, a "Buzz", essentially, the "Critic" turns off when I get on the water to fish and shoot videos. The down side, and I imagine many find this same issue, is the editing software and the algorithm of UA-cam do not come naturally to many of us. This makes the "Critic" side of our personality, or brain, to become the dominant active part of the brain as we edit our videos. Editing a video and posting it with the "Critic" side of your brain as the dominant active side of your brain is extremely hard for many of us. Although I will not say that alcohol or a "Buzz" is the only answer, I think acknowledging this about our personalities and being aware of it, may help us find what helps put us in our "Zen" spot when we edit. Thanks for the videos, knowledge, perspective, and most of all... Entertainment!
Just my personal commitment to spread the love, joy and smiles, I do have to give a HUGE tip of the hat to the often unsung heroes of many UA-cam personalities success. Yes, I need to acknowledge and show love to the UA-cam video EDITORS out there. The are often unseen, unacknowledged, and unknown, but they really truly are HEROES to those of us that fight that overpower critic in our brains and personalities. Unfortunately, you have to fight it until you can afford the editors. This does not make their work worth less, but maybe worth more. Thank you EDITORS!
i know i'm just some guy on the internet and this is just a comment on a video but want to give some honest feedback about this...first off 1) love the mix of "follow around vlog" and "the office" style vlogs. The Office sense of comedy gives me a chuckle. 2) Speaking about business...interesting direction on the company. Doubt anything really stopped you from exploring out new video formats but make the mission "telling stories that matters to us" kind of paves a way to try some new stuff or keep doing the stuff you are doing now with intention. Also with the idea of building innovating teams and finding new ways to tell a story makes me excited! Always willing to help out if you ever need process improvement or app development done!
I have an idea for a new channel and I would really like to email someone at Hi5 about this so if someone may help me out on who to email that would be amazing. The channel would be called The Common Office, if you have ever watched an older Roze vlog you could have heard that Sam, Woods, and Roze all shared an office, The Common Office, at one point. Not to mention Sam had once mentioned that when she talked about the common office splitting up she felt emotional. So I thought why not let them have that Common Office again! Anyway, the whole idea for the channel is Sam, Woods, and Roze all have a shared vlog channel (similar to the Woods channel but Sam and Cat also get added on to it.) They could possibly share an office once more, though I would not be surprised if this didn't happen due to Sam and Cat having their own offices but I would really love that, but in conclusion it would simply be a fun joint vlog channel with the dynamic trio. Anyway sorry if this didn't make sense but I liked the idea. Thanks for reading this.

I actually really like this style of video more than the sketches. I love the sketches but would love to see more of the true story of Hi5 more often.
The idea of illustrated thumbnails might not be popular and what not on UA-cam right now and that's why no one apparently clicked on them but it really would be great if you could maybe start that trend? like those thumbnails were so cool! maybe you can try it again someday. :( Also I love the new style of videos they are really funny. not gonna lie sometimes I get confused on what channels are still going and which ones are cancelled and Hi5 has gone through a lot of content! but I SOOOOO look forward to seeing new channels and uplifting content coming out of this company in the future, thanks Matt

I really enjoyed the illustrated thumbnails! Maybe you could have them at the end of the videos? For example, like what Chuck Lorre had at the end of Big Bang Theory episodes (and other shows he directed.) Just a thought? 😊
Ive run a business before. I have also talked with business owners (for some reason upper management sends me out despite me being lower management). Everything he said is true and when you do those things you really can succeed. Unfortunately, my overhead was too high. Although it was profitable, it was not profitable enough. People don’t understand the cost of running a business. I spent thousands a month for only a couple thousand a month profit. Working 18 hours a day. My associate actually made more than me for the first 6 months. Finally I took off and then the platform I was selling my product on changed its rules and I was not able to adapt with my slim profit margin. There is a lot to it guys. Glad your doing good Mathias. You are supplying people with jobs as well as giving good content. Keep it up.

I took a look at the vision/mission board. You fulfilled the #1 criteria for marketing (Why, How, What). I love being able to follow what Matthias is saying.
I like this version no cuts or edits or nothing just straight forward with the channel or videos
