    If maintained properly, the ZF 8 speed is one of the best transmissions available..

      It could be a troll or smartass comment on the computers reliability. I have one with the same transmission and was curious but mine is still under 40k so I can’t imagine it being needed before 60k.

      Not one of, it is in fact the best non heavy duty conventional automatic transmission on the market

    the 3.6L is the best engine you could possibly get in this truck, in terms of fuel economy and reliability, these are known to have fewer problems than the 5.7L and the crap box 3.0L Ecodiesel

    • @SupramanTRD
      @SupramanTRD 7 місяців тому

      Agreed, ultimately the issue with the 5.7 is that the cam doesn't have an oil supply. It relies on sling oil from the crank. And they moved the crank and cam further apart. At idle no oiling of the camshaft, causes wear quickly. As for the 3.0 ecodiesel, you're stuck with the cp4 injection pump, and bad bearings in the bottom end. The pentastar has a lot of plastic, but the engine itself is reliable.

      @@SupramanTRD A down side that really pissed my dad off, was the plastic, a part on our 3.6 truck broke because it was plastic, my dad was mad because those idiots didn't make it out of metal, so he was out of a truck for a week because it was draining oil non stop, at a fast rate, but like you said, the pentastar is an overall reliable engine.

    I’ve got one that’s only at 34k and the gas tank started leaking at the filler hose. Just out of warranty and $2500 for all the plastic fantastic parts to be replaced. Plus the cruise control went out and I can’t imagine anything electrical related being cheap to fix. I inherited the truck so I’m looking to sell it the minute it’s fixed and getting a Ford or Toyota truck. I need a warranty as these newer vehicles I can’t work on without snapping some delicate crap. I don’t think the Ram is all bad but I’ve had terrible luck with Dodge/Mopar vehicles, almost to a level of it being a curse.

      @@coffeebeans7912 story of my life as far as mopars. Only a 07 Town&Country dad van has been solid over 100k. I maintenance the shit out of my vehicles which pisses me off to no end having so many problems. Never miss a schedule maintenance. Even the pricy crap got done.
      Funny enough my dad went through similar issues. Just got my wife’s 2014 Journey and it’s going right back after the third warranty repair right as we took it home again with issues. I’m starting to think that dealership is incompetent and or crooked.
      In a couple years I’m going to get another 68-72 Chevy or GMC C20 with a small block V8. I only got rid of my older one (passed down)because it was just so damn rusted. Wished I held onto it for the vins now as it was bought by my grandad in 72. Could’ve just cobbled together another from its bones.
      The Ram I’m trying not to drive so much but I got a 69 Mustang Fastback in for final assembly, wife’s car keeps going in and out, and my Town&Country got left at my moms up state. Sorry I’m venting.

      This isn't the 80's. 4 and 6 cylinder engines produce more power now than the older v8's that used to be in trucks. Your opinion is obsolete

    • @Critter0817
      @Critter0817 2 роки тому

      @@coffeebeans7912 I don't think he meant it like that. I think he's referring to how this engine belongs in minivans or sedans. If you have a full size pickup truck with a v6, you don't want it to have a power biased cam profile. You want it to be big, for a 6 cyl, and have a lower cam profile that favors torque over power. And if it's a 4 cylinder, like the new 2.7 chevy motor, it has an average redline but it get 348 ftlb of torque with the hell of a 22psi turbo? Good thing it's not aimed at heavy duty. I'd put money on them having SO MANY ISSUES compared to the V8s. These small engines are out here sweating trying to pull a 6,000 pound truck and boast a high towing capacity while to these V8's, it's like pushing a shopping cart

    Whenever my friend and I see a charger, challenger, chrysler 300, or ram with an obvious 3.6 pentastar engine either trying to show off or they modified it so the exhaust is loud when it is just driving casually, we always joke and chant "MINIVAN MOTOR MINIVAN MOTOR" because at the end of the day, those people ended up putting off brand rims, 20% tint, spec-d headlamps, a lowering kit, and rainbow underglow lights on base model muscle car. I'm probably evil
    EDIT: The aftermarket exhaust! Can't forget the main reason you know it's a v6 is because they're sound polluting the area with loud trumpet V6 noises

    • @Critter0817
      @Critter0817 7 місяців тому

      @BADDRIVINGINCANADA it is fast but it still solidifies the fact that they got the base model muscle car without the muscle part. Nobody hates that rubbed in more than a v6 charger owner consuming mass amounts of copium
