- Kirstie Alley has died. Her children, True and Lillie Parker, confirmed the news on Twitter, revealing their mother died after a short battle with cancer. She was 71. The actress was known for her role in 'Cheers,' and starring on the big screen in films like, 'Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan,' 'Look Who's Talking' and 'It Takes Two.'

This is the worst part about adulthood. You start to lose loved ones and stars who you grew up with. Sounds horrible but they are dropping like flies and each reminds how little time we all actually have. Growing up the movie she did with the Olsen twins was one of my favorites. RIP, Kirstie.

So true, every few weeks I feel like someone I admire who has been around my whole life has passed. Not to mention family and friends. It really is the worst part of aging! When my dad just passed recently at 80. And I’m like really coming to terms with my life at best is like half over at almost 40. The human condition is so hard at times. ❤
You said it, alot of movie and TV actors I watched from the late 60s when I was a child, and in later years are all gone.

Average life expectancy in the USA is 79 for women.
If you have normal health, you will become much older than 79.
So, 71 is not a normal age to die at.

Yes, this comes as a sad shock. I liked her "balzy" humor & attitude; laughed a lot :) And after thinking about it a bit, realized she really did represent reality for many women. She struggled with addiction problems, as a young woman, & weight struggles as an older woman. Over time these things can & usually do contribute to illnesses that shorten your life. It happens every day, all around us. Take care of your beautiful body.
She was a very close friend of John Travolta...yet another tragic loss for him after Olivia Newton John, his wife and son. May she rest in peace forever.

John Travolta has had a rough couple of years with his leading ladies. He lost his wife several months ago. He lost Olivia Newton-John a few months ago and now Kristie Alley. Rest in peace Kristie. My condolences 💐 to her family and friends.
My beautiful sister died from the same type cancer. I took care of her until the last couple of days when she went into Hospice care. It is so, so horrible. My heart is with Kirstie's family and I totally understand what a shock this is to them.

She brought continuous variety to the TV world and I just absolutely loved her & am sorrowful over her passing. I knew her from different movies and TV productions, including of course her most famous classics like "Look who’s talking" and "One and one makes four" and was always impressed by her charisma, and her talent! I miss her very much!

Kirstie was a wonderful comic actress, her timing was exquisite. Cheers carried me through my divorce. It was something that just helped me diverge to a different mental zone. I love good comic invention and this show always hit the spot especially after Diane's departure. I'm one year older than Kirstie and the moment she (and Kelsey Grammar) joined the cast I felt it took it to another level. She had a superb sense of timing and my favourite moments were when she would burst into tears for some mistake or failure she did it so well. It cracked me up every time and still does. R.I.P. Kirstie

Awe..what a shame. This woman was a trooper… you couldn’t help but like her in everything she did. It felt like she was someone you knew in interviews and I always found myself rooting for her. If you heard her name you would perk up just to hear what she was up to next, just like I did today…I was shocked to here this sad news. I never realized that I was such a fan. It's really sad when the people you watch on TV while growing up died.
Oh no! This breaks my heart! I love her!!!! ❤❤ I did not realize she was in her 70’s at all!!!! But still that’s pretty young now days. This ones hard I feel like all my childhood favorites are passing so fast now. And my heart breaks. Also, the “ look who’s talking” series as well as “Cheers” were staples in my childhood!!!! I probably watched look who’s talking 1 & 2 over 100 times! The absolute hardest part about the human condition is that we live our whole lives knowing everyone including ourselves are only given a short period of time on this planet to accomplish everything we are meant for. I am about to turn 40, and my father just passed at 80. And I am realizing I am no longer a young girl (like omg when did I became an adult lol) I have a 17 and 12 year old! Howwww?! 😳 And at best, my life is probably almost half done, but technically we can go at any time. The hardest part of aging is slowly watching everyone you loved pass on and not being certain of what the other side of that is regardless of your religious beliefs no one knows because no one comes back to tell us. I pray for Kirsty’s kids and loved ones. Nothing more rocking to your core than once your parents pass. You can be any age and you still feel like a orphan. 😢 and Cancer is a extremely scary thing.
