Great podcast. Perspective of a kiwi. We believe that Shane can jump in anything and win. Doesn’t make us look at any drivers that he competes against in a negative light. Really enjoyed the race and I personally have started watching the nascar races from this season and am making my way through as a result. I can only speak for myself but nascar has definitely gained a fan because of this race. And I’m not the only one, that is for sure.
SVG winning didn’t detract from cup drivers, he is just very good and has won in almost every random car or series he has raced… do i believe the top 10 Supercar drivers would go to cup and do the same.. no
Regarding SVG and if tarnished things……it didn’t, as SVG is one of a kind (I can say that as a Kiwi) & others from Supercars likely would have been competitive but likely not be able to be so good & so confident in driving through the field
Sunset never changed. So as the race was going along all competitors understood that full distance was not going to be run. NASCAR defined an end point to avoid the ambiguity of "what is too dark?"
I would love to see head lights on the road racing configuration of these nascars like the Le Mans Nascar had. A nascar Daytona road race at night would be cool to see.
for calling the end of the race, do a time certain rule. it's 100 laps or 3hrs as an expample, which ever comes first. That way the teams can figure out whats going on and make the appropriate decisions for their fuel window.
Next year I'm going to sign up for Uber and drive in my Jag hoping I pick up a Nascar driver and we will get there in a safe but timely manner. No walking required
Street race in Toronto or road course at the Gilles Villeneuve circuit in Montreal. the upside is the exchange rate where the US dollar is worth 30% more. it's not like a 30% discount but your cash goes further.
Why is it considered “Hard Racin” when Hamlin runs someone off the track but when Chastain does it he’s a horrible driver and is overly aggressive? Just Saying!
You think Denny Hamlin is free from criticism? And it’s not like everybody was criticizing Ross Chastain. Some people were complimenting Ross Chastain a while calling him this generation’s Dale Earnhardt Sr.
@@_alw_w9951 I don’t think Denny Hamlin is as dirty of a driver as some people wanna make him out to be. The way some people go on about Denny Hamlin, you would think he was the real life version of Chick Hicks.
i think the superspeedway package 'tarnishes' nascar more than anything. 'Air brake' racing looks stupid both aesthetically and competitively. You have to have another car up your rear or you stall out *derp ^it's just a peeve of mine as superspeedway racing used to be my favorite.
@@bighand1530 I know, it was an attempt at breaking Denny's balls. The hard part is learning how to optimize your average lap time over a full fuel run.
@@CaptainBerz I don't watch Nascar so I don't know, my understanding is Trackhouse don't race every race or do they? so does Trackhouse keep the points and carry's over to another racer like Suarez if he drives next for Trackhouse
If they are going to race on city streets , I have an idea. I used to work as a courier. I would like to see these drivers go around busy city streets in rush hour traffic having to stop, pick up or deliver parcels every five minutes. See how fast they would be in the real world.😊

Chicago style, Detroit style, New York Style... never met a pizza I didn't love LOL.
Nice lol.
Look up Brazilian and Swedish pizza, you'll be saddened.
we aussies know its a different story on an oval, but damn are we proud of SVG and what an amazing race!
You should be, it was a masterclass.

Kosteckie is rumoured to be coming over from the SC series and he's a pretty handy driver . Would be interesting to see how he goes.

Here in Australia I bet the top supercar teams are sweating after SVG said the top 10 guys can do what I did.
Looks like Aussies coming to the US.
Long Beach for the next street circuit. Well defined, historical. Covers the LA area, which is huge.

Basically..
When your driver does it, it's badass. When it happens to your driver, it's total bs.

You should offer SVG some one-on-one qualifying lessons, Denny. It's the least you could do.
I’m sure SVG will adapt quickly.

How did the points work on this if this guy is not part of NASCAR did the second-place driver receive points how does that work
Great question I heard SVG would have had 55points. That doesn't seem right is it?

Pretty sure it is just simple. They all get the points associated with their finish like any other race.
