MIKE CURB. PHENOMENONAL INTERVIEW. Junior, this was the BEST episode yet. PERIOD. Mr. Curb said several times that he would like to be interviewing you. Please bring him back for a talk. FASCINATING.
@Jimbo0341usmc every comment you leave on this channel is negative. If you don't like the content stop watching. It must be miserable being so unhappy in life.
This has been one of the most amazing interviews that I have seen in a long time of any kind! It touched on many of the topics that I love, ... music, Nascar and sometimes politics, but definitely history of all kinds. I couldn't tell who was enjoying the interview the most, Dale Jr or Mr Curb! I hope that DJ does another interview at some time with him, because I was just again, totally amazed at everything Mr Curb had to say about his life. He seems like he's a great motivator and brings out the best in people. I was proud when he said all the encouraging words to /about Dale Jr, because in my opinion, he deserves it. Fantabulous interview and happy to hear that there will be more from DirtyMo during the off season.
This was such a great interview! Mike Curb is truly an incredible figure with such a unique journey through motorsports and music. Hearing how he went from writing jingles to co-owning a NASCAR championship-winning team is so inspiring! His stories about working with legends like Richard Petty and even being connected to Ronald Reagan add so much depth to his legacy. Dale Jr. really brought out the best of his story here-thanks for making this happen!
I'm 64 and I've heard his name over the years, but only CURB records. He's a great guy! He's a Christian, a sidekick of President Reagan, friends with Richard Childress, and a part of Tim McGraw's musical career! Amazing! 🤓 👍💯
I’m maybe 25 minutes into this and every moment has been a revelation. It’s like, “oh, yeah, the guy with Sr. in the early days - oh, he wrote music? - Oh, he was president of MGM?? - OH, he was Lt. Gov. of California???” Such a great, great guest guys.
This is on my list of your greatest interview. You now have at least 6 greatest interviews. I can see this man looking at pictures with his mind's eye recalling things.❤
Please check out how bad he did Hank 3 over. Music means so much to me. He comes off as someone nice, great, but he’s got some ways of screwing great musicians over
Jr, you've hit another interview out of the park. I love the old NASCAR. To listen to the stories takes me back to my younger days. God bless you, your family, and your business. Stay safe and take care.
My dad (huge fan of Reagan and NASCAR), would talk about Mike Curb when we’d watch his favorite movie Kelley’s Heroes (with music by the Mike Curb Congregation). Great getting to know more about this guy and shared this interview with my dad.
By far your best guest and most knowledgeable racing enthusiast I’ve ever seen interviewed! Should be in the Nascar Hall of Fame for his contributions!!!!
Awesome interview, I grew up in San Bernardino. My Dad's best friend from high school was Warner Hogdon. Dad had a welding fabrication shop, and used to build different projects for Warner. Also Dad owned The building Ivan Baldwin had his shop in, on 5th Street. This Interview and the one with Gary Nelson a few weeks ago. Bring so many memories from grade school - high school. I remember Dale Sr. Running Riverside in the 2 car. Any ways Great shows Thank you !
What a fantastic interview. Wow that guy is way more than just a sponsor or owner. Awesome how much history he can recall. Seems like Dale was even impressed by all information he remembered.
WOW, what an interview! I started watching at 3pm knowing I had things to do but I couldn't stop watching! Now it's after 5pm and I'm beyond late for my previous obligations. But whatever price I have to pay for that, I'll gladly pay because this interview was fantastic and Mike Curb's life is amazing. What a great guy. Two great guys in fact, sitting across from each other at a table and talking for two hours. And every minute of it was engaging, riveting, fascinating. BRAVO! And thank you Dale, and Dirty Mo Media for arranging and presenting such an entertaining program. You've had a lot of great interviews over the years, but I think this one is my favorite interview so far. I have always been familiar with Mike Curb's name both in racing and some of my favorite musicians have been on his label over the years, but I wouldn't have known the man if I had passed him on the street. Now I fell like I know him very well, and I think he's a class act. Amazing, amazing video, I can't say that enough. Wow.
I think was a really solid interview with you and Mike Curb I don't watch full time but I did watch some of your Dale Jr. Downloads this year, It seems we are okay now again Jr., I think.
No one in the racing community is doing anything close to what you are doing with these podcasts/interviews. It is, to me as equally important to hear these stories as it is to win a race. The back stories are fascinating and allow us to learn about people, who after all give racing the human element that is necessary for it to sustain. Please continue to explore and to delve into these lives we would otherwise not know about. Mike Curb is a huge integral part of both the music restaurant and racing, but how many people know that? Outstanding interview.
In my time in racing I always wished Mike Curb would sponsor a car that worked on so I could meet him someday. I would have loved to talk music and racing with him at lunch sometime. I love the fact that really knows racing the way that he does AND knows music the way he does. I’d would love to have lunch with this guy someday. I love the fact he was a Speed Sport News subscriber. I remember passing Speed Sport around the team on plane flights.
Always heard of curb records and seen the sponsor on many cars but have never put a face to the legend, awesome interview... thanks for this, most interesting watch
Mr. Curb, I worked for Laura Bainbridge Realty and Dane Bryant in Nashville in 1989 and I got to deliver a potential property listing to you and was honored to meet you. I have loved music and racing all my life as well and appreciate what you and Dale Jr. have done for us all. Thank you. -susie
Incredible Interview…. Wow… Max Helton loved telling me about Mike Curb and his connection with the history of NASCAR, Les Richter, Mike Helton, and the early days of MRO Chaplaincy! Thanks Dale for getting Mike Curb on Dirty Mo!
In addition to his being a part of Dale Earnhardt's early career, as well as his owning the team for which Richard Petty scored his last two wins as a driver, Mike Curb was also involved with Dan Gurney's IndyCar team in the mid 80s with Indianapolis 500 champion Tom Sneva (who failed to qualify for the 1984 Daytona 500 in a second Mike Curb entry as the reigning Indy champion) and Ed Pimm, who he would briefly to the Cup Series in 1988, and he was involved with Bryan Herta's IndyCar team, which won the Indianapolis 500 in both 2011 (with the late Dan Wheldon) and 2016 (Sunoco, which sponsored Alexander Rossi's winning car in 2016, also sponsored Pimm's Curb-owned car for the 1988 Daytona 500), and as mentioned in the info box, is involved with the Agajanians to this day, an association that may go back to the last days of J.C. Agajanian, hence his association with car #98 in both the Cup Series and those Indy efforts that brought two wins for car owner Bryan Herta.
So glad you did this. I’ve been fascinated with the name Curb Records, after seeing it so,prominently on so many cars in so many divisions of racing. I’ve always been curious about that, and now I know the answer. Thank you 💯
I had no idea who Mike Curb is. That puts me in the "young fans" group you described and I am 78 years old. He has contributed to my life without my knowledge. I thank him and thank you for putting this on
OMG. I don't know if there is an award for podcast interviews but if there is you should definitely win it for this one. So great. Dale jr. You smashed it out of the park with that one.
Never heard of this guy before but what an incredible life story. To be successful in music, politics and racing all at the same time has got to take some real drive. One of the best interviews on the show and it sounds like he should come back again. Good job Dale.
Wow all those little things that fell into place to make the NASCAR we me and u dale grew up watching. Thanks for this one it sure filled in the blanks for sure!!!!
Another thing I learned was the Osterlund cars were actually owned by Mike. In other words, Mike was the money man and Osterlund was the name listed as the owner. Mike couldn't say he owned the cars and team because of some type of conflict of interest when he was in political office. Because he told Bill France Jr., "I sold some of the cars to Stacy but still have 2 Monte Carlos and 2 Oldsmobiles left." Bill said, can you convert those to Pontiacs for Richard Petty? So the Petty 1984 Firecracker 200th win car was actually an ex-Dale Earnhardt car converted to a Pontiac. Now you know the rest of the story.
That was a grand slam! I had seen the Curb name in motorsports, my whole life. The stories were unbelievable. And to think it all started with a Motor Trend magazine and a subscription to Speed Sport News. Wow just wow.
I rarely post comments but I seriously doubt at 60 years old, I will ever get an opportunity again to have two of my most favorite "Herro's", and I don't say that lightly, having for lack of a better series of words, Just spent a couple hours discussing Their Life's Experience and Love's, having invited You & I to sit in on the experience and enjoy with fascination, having known How Successful these two Genuinely Great Men have been with Both touching many many Live's, both doing so for generations, and BOTH STILL ENJOY EVERY DAY OFF THEIR SUCCESSFUL CAREERS ! I SINCERELY SAY "THANK YOU FELLOWS, FOR THE RIDE OF MY LIFE, and We are still riding, both of You are the Best that God has ever had to offer society, and You Guy's Have & continue TO DELIVER, I COULD WRITE MORE AND CONTINUE TO FEEL THAT I OWE YOU MORE THAANKS
Fascinating interview. Never knew much about Mike Curb other than seeing his name on racecars in the 80's. Was very interesting, learning all that he did behind the scenes besides just having his name on a car.
One of the best of your interviews (which is a very high bar, your worst interviews are way better than most of the garbage published as "content") keep going and don't let anything other than God himself hold you back
Good interview. Off season suggestion, Dale show us all the momentous in the studio. Talk about them, stories about them, why are they special enough to be in there. I think a lot of fans would enjoy some shows like that .
awesome one of the best i’ve listened to.. i didn’t know him at the time but i helped build his museum and i have always wondered who the museum belonged too.. now i know thanks
Big Mike Curb fan now. Love the way his mind works. Forgot more than I will ever know. Dale should check out Lord Huron. So cool finding out Dale played the drums a bit but makes sense why he would stop. Lot of pressure but it's cool because it is like Mike trying to drive when he did.
What a fantastic interview. Would love to know the sponsorship dollar values with all of the grassroots cars that he sponsors, like Gary Putnam with the modifieds.
MIKE CURB. PHENOMENONAL INTERVIEW. Junior, this was the BEST episode yet. PERIOD. Mr. Curb said several times that he would like to be interviewing you. Please bring him back for a talk. FASCINATING.

I would love to see Mike Curb sponsor a throw back car for JR. motor sports or sponsor them for a season
This is on my list of your greatest interview. You now have at least 6 greatest interviews. I can see this man looking at pictures with his mind's eye recalling things.❤
Wow, mad respect for Mike Curb. Amazing story and interview! You guys have killed it with interviews this year 😊
Man do I love these interviews .
The best interview by far. As a musician and music history and racing history nut, this was great.
Please check out how bad he did Hank 3 over. Music means so much to me. He comes off as someone nice, great, but he’s got some ways of screwing great musicians over

By far your best guest and most knowledgeable racing enthusiast I’ve ever seen interviewed! Should be in the Nascar Hall of Fame for his contributions!!!!
His knowledge of racing, as a whole no matter the form, is very impressive.
What a sharp memory he has. Great guest. 👍
I'd love to know how he keeps his memory so sharp! He definitely doesn't look, sound or act like he's 79 years old.
Awesome job by Dale Jr. One of the best interviews ever. Mike Curb deserves an honorary spot in the NASCAR Hall Of Fame. ❤

Fantastic podcast with Mr. Curb! He needs a series, hope he comes back soon.
What an incredible mind, at 79 to still be supporting so many teams
