    As a hardtail rider myself, I would encourage adding tire inserts. I run Tannus Armor tubeless in mine and it's been a game changer. Vibration dampening, lower tire pressures, and sidewall support. Makes the ride that much better.

      OK! Do you know anything about cush core as well?

    • @allanridesbikes5856
      @allanridesbikes5856 3 роки тому +7

      @@mendymorrison4929 I've never ridden Cush Core, but from what I was researching on deciding which to get, they are very similar. I believe Cushcore is slightly heavier and harder to put on plus was more expensive. So I leaned toward Tannus at $50 an insert plus it also seemed to have a more active ride feel in their design compared to the "dead" feeling of too much rebound dampening in the solid Cushcore insert while Tannus still provides vibration reduction.

    “Suspension” dropper post like PNW coast suspension! It’s a brilliant addition to hardtail. Air tight setting removes bump shocks effectively without sacrificing pedaling efficiency (no bobbing).

    I've had my Scout Comp 290 just a little while, and the first change was the tires. Holy moly, that stock Assegai/Dissector combo will undoubtedly be incredible in the wet conditions commonly featured in UK videos, but they can be terrifying in hard dry cornering. My switch to Icons has turned my bike into a real speedster, and one I can steer aggressively in the dry (and on pavement).

    Downgrading to a 1× drivetrain from my current 46/30 'Boost' crankset would be limiting as the 11-32 10× cassette is fixed. In my case, the SRAM XX front derailleur shifts flawlessly and in 21,000 kilometers never dropped a chain. For those things who think a double crankset is too complicated, perhaps they should not ride a MTB and stick to Cruisers.

    This bike was really easy to assemble ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxMesz3KOGEmwmvyKQfLfrRSUXLFzfVHZA and required very few adjustments out of the box. The wheels did not require any truing/adjustments. The frame had some small scratches, but nothing major.I did replace the seat though - the seat it came with was very uncomfortable. The tires need to be re-inflated every 4-5 days, but this appears to be quite common for the narrow 700x25 tires.Overall, in my opinion, this bike looks and rides like a much more expensive bike.

    1x drivetrain isnt an upgrade at all. 1) it will make your bike top speed at least 2x slower (good luck on trying to have speed control on fast downhill), 2) good luck downshifting on uphill with that, 3) weaker thinner chain 4) absolutely no reason to change from 3x to 1x, thats a downgrade.

    • @mikexhotmail
      @mikexhotmail 2 роки тому

      Indeed. Just bought myself first hardtail and it come with 2x8 but I still can't downshift fast enough in some situation.
      I think 1x is fine for TT or Roadbike where one can anticipate the road but it XC one may need to go from 11 to 42 in a heart beat after the next bushes.
      ps. To me I prefer 1X but with only 7- 8 speeds
