  • Fire engines are the workhorses of the fire service. The primary job of the engine and its crew is to suppress fires. But as our district and the needs of our residents have changed- so has West Metro's response. Fire engines are also on scene for medical calls, motor vehicle accidents, rescues, hazardous materials responses, and other incidents. With all that responsibility- the crew on board is highly trained and the engine carries quite a bit of equipment.
    On our first "Fleet Feature"- we take a look at West Metro Engine 2 and what's on board.
    "Whatever it takes to serve."

    I honestly usually get bored with the Fleet Friday videos but this one was so well done that I stayed interested and learned about the very well thought out design of this truck! Great job!

    This is a great rundown of your engine. I am curious though, what apparatus carries the extrication and stabilization equipment?

      Hi William: our Towers - Tower 2 and Tower 8, and Truck 14 and Rescue 10 carry extrication and stabilization equipment. We also have Collapse 10: ua-cam.com/video/5Z4znVD_KCk/v-deo.html

    do engines in West Metro only run 3 man crews?

    • @WestMetroFire
      @WestMetroFire  2 роки тому +2

      Most of our engines have three person crews. Our towers have four person crews, Truck 14 has a four person crew.

      Will all the new engines look like this?

    • @WestMetroFire
      @WestMetroFire  2 роки тому

      @@swimmerjer The apparatus committee takes a look at each station and its coverage area and makes recommendations. If the same specs fit a station's needs, then, another model like Engine 2 could be added to the fleet.

    @West Metro Fire Rescue why did i not see the driver's accountabley tag on the accountabley tags on the officer's side

    • @WestMetroFire
      @WestMetroFire  2 роки тому

      If you're talking about the passport tags- there are tags for everyone on the rig- officer, engineer and firefighter. Most of our engines run with three crew members. You see the tags for all three in this video.
