Pe dymunwn olud bydol,

Golud calon lân, rinweddol,

A pure heart full of goodness
Is fairer than the pretty lily,
None but a pure heart can sing,
Sing in the day and sing in the night.
Sounds like:
pear duh meanoon awe lead buhdoll
Chweem adenith eetho seeth
Gaw lead calawn lan rin ooethall
Uhn dooeen buhthawl airloo veeth
Thank you for putting these videos online. I was born in Wales, but I have grown up in Canada. I love Calon Lan and really wanted to learn to sing it in Welsh. Thank you for helping me learn to pronounce the words. ❤️❤️❤️
This proved very helpful to this Irish immigrant, thank you so much.
Your singing voice reminds me of that Scottish traditional legend, Doris Rougvie, who recorded The Isle of Eigg, Farewell Indiana, and Lassie of Fashion, on UA-cam. Best wishes. 🎶
Thank You So Much - It helped me learn this beautiful Hymn
You're right in time to help me!
My mum's funeral is coming up and as she was Welsh and I love Calon Lan it has to be sung. I have never learnt the words so now I must. Thank you.
Oh my! So glad this is useful to you at such a difficult time - hope all goes well x

You have a very beautiful singing and spoken voice.
Superb teacher, at a speed which gives us non welsh speakers a chance. Lovely voice too. Any chance of doing the same for Myfanwy.
Thank you! Maybe Myfanwy one day - having enough time is a bit of an issue!
Diolch!! I’m Welsh but grew up in England, so I know some Welsh from when I was a kid visiting all my Welsh-speaking family in the 1970-80s.
While my pronunciation is better than I thought, as it’s probably ingrained from chatting to my cousins who had varying levels of English when we were all 2-8yrs old - this is just amazingly helpful. I’m now at that age where I wish I’d learned more Welsh as a kid, as I’m singing Calon Lan at weddings, funerals and the ubiquitous rugby games. But it’s important to me that I get it right, as it’s such a beautiful song that we even had played at my father’s funeral. My Uncle’s choir sang it then, and I knew the 1st and 2nd verses, but want to feel more natural singing it. This video series is perfect. :)
So glad it's helpful - I am only half Welsh and don't speak it at all but, as a pro singer, have to learn the nuances and correct pronunciation of many languages x
Thx
