  • Thirty years after they were stolen, 500 reels of priceless Beatles rehearsal tapes were recovered during an international police sting. What’s been discovered is a holy grail of rare and abandoned Beatles music never properly recorded by the group. Lovingly presented here is a selection of what-if songs - some of which are exclusive to this LIMITED EDITION vinyl release - newly arranged and reimagined by other artists.
This album contains cover versions of songs obtained through Songfile and Easy Song licensing. All rights to the original songs are owned by their respective copyright holders.

Infinitely more interesting lyrics than Jealous Guy. I wish he had never changed them, and gotten George to play on it during the Imagine sessions. Would have almost been like getting a new Beatles track in '71. Gorgeous melody! Thanks for doing this one.

    On the road to Marrakesh
I was dreaming more or less,
And the dream I had was true
Yes, the dream I had was true
I'm just a child of nature
I don't need much to set me free
    I'm just child of nature
    I'm one of nature's children
    Sunlight shining in your eyes
As I face the desert skies
And my thoughts return to home
Yes, my thoughts return to home
I'm just a child of nature
I don't need much to set me free
I'm just a child of nature
    I'm one nature's children
    Underneath the mountain ranges
Where the wind that never changes
Touch the windows of my soul
Touch the windows of my soul
I'm just a child of nature
I don't need much to set me free
I'm just a child of nature
    I'm one of nature's children

I agree with you, but I think most people don't. Thanks for listening.

Would have become an hippie anthem with those lyrics

One of my favorite melodies John Lennon wrote, I just was never satisfied with the lyrics in each version.

"Touch the windows of my soul" is a great line and this works as a nice companion peace to Mother Nature's Son. Shame he felt the need to change the lyrics to being about his relationship with Yoko :/

@@Y-two-K I agree. In fact, that's one of my favorite lines. Windows of My Soul would have been a great title. Apparently it was Yoko's idea. He said she told him "You can do better" with the lyrics....And...he made them pretty plain instead of the cosmic and unique song it originally was!

@@jeffreyroedel9804it's down to preference at the end of the day, but the beauty of the Jealous Guy lyrics IS their elemental simplicity.

@@davecostello560 I see your point, and in a vacuum, I agree, simple lyrics can be beautiful and relatable for many. But for me, not in a vacuum, knowing what he had with Child of Nature, and knowing John had lots of other love/I'm sorry songs in the '70s, I think it's a shame that the uniqueness of Child of Nature was lost in this case.

Sounds like "Jealous Guy" from John Lennon's "Imagine" album.

Yup, listen to the Esher Demo of the track! Demo'd around the white album and lyrics changed for Jealous Guy

    • @jeffreyroedel9804
      @jeffreyroedel9804 3 місяці тому +3

It is! Well, Jealous Guy was John re-writing the lyrics, but it's the same song as this Beatles song he demo'd at George's house in '68 but never recorded with the band, unless you count brief rehearsals of it during the Get Back sessions.

Why have you slowed this down? It doesn't sound like John at all. This has been around 0n various bootlegs since the 1970's and has been officially released on the white album anniversary remix on the bonus album of 'Esher Demos'
