Captain Grid-iron is one my favourite gi joe character after General Hawk, Beachhead, Scarlett and Pathfinder... the cartoon was a big part of my childhood due I watched most the episode of the Dic era and when I first saw United we stand at first thought It was Duke in a new uniform then I realised he was a new character and the leader in command plus loved the idea he was captain not a Master Sergeant like his replacement... all though the chain in command is weird in GI Joe media, so in my mind should like this: 1) General Colton 2) General Hawk 3) General Flagg II (son of the original General Flagg due his father was killed in the comics by Major Bludd and that time Hawk was still a Colonel with the original 13 GI Joe) 4) Sgt.Slaughter (all though a Sergeant but I feel he has more experience then those who come after him) 5) Cpt.Grid-Iron 6) Duke (who should be a captain like in the movie rise of cobra not master sergeant) 7) Flint 8) Beachhead 9) Scarlett 10) Roadblock Till this day still have his vintage gi joe figure along his fss 8 club figure @Hasbroplsue hope they make him in GI Joe Classified 6 inch.

I spent the entire of last night trying to figure out how in the hell you could adapt such a character as this into a military toy line without making it look stupid. Baseball's easy, because he could become a grenadier or MP (baseball bat = nightstick), but football??? The best thing I could come up with was to make him a SWAT, riot control and urban warfare specialist? All you'd have to do is:- 1. Get rid of the silly football grenades and give him a riot shield with M4 carbine and M203 grenade launcher. 2. Replace the green and neon yellow with urban camo grey. He could keep the bars and visor on his helmet in order to protect his face from projectiles. You could also get away with integrating football with building siege tactics.
I can see by the comments and lower view count that this guy was not a favorite of most. I dug him and his accessories a lot. I loved how everything fit on the fig, and I knew it was ridiculous even then, but I was still here for it.
I loved the battle bunker and grid iron and metal head. I had battle bunker sealed with box and put it together recently. I also have metal head sealed on card.

@@ta0paipai I really like the basic premise of the G.I. Joe franchise, but why they had to rely on giving so many of these characters bright neon colours and silly costumes is beyond me. Yes, it's a kids' toy, but really it's for 10 to 15 year old boys, and they get off on watching films like Predator and Aliens just as much, and those films featured what G.I. Joe characters should've been like! Arnie's team looked and acted like cartoon characters whilst at the same time being believable. Ironically, they even had toys made of their characters, as did the Aliens characters!
@@johnnyfountainS I'm partial to Slice and of course Jinx. But Bushido, Banzai, Dojo, Nunchuk, T'Jbang, and making Scarlett and Firefly into ninja, as well as Snake Eyes's paintball attire was overkill. Ninja Force is not a high point in G.I. Joe.
