I count Zartan and Hexel as part of the clan. Zartan because in the end he was forced to follow through on the contract to kill SnakeEyes. Hexel because they paired her with SnakeEyes and to his surprise she was able to keep up.
An oddity in the ranks as G. I. Joe already had Jinx and Snake-Eyes in the team. Budo’s outfit is very similar to the one used by Tom Cruise in film The Last Samurai. Budo only made one appearance in G. I. Joe #82 (“Weeding Out”), which revealed the G. I. Joe Selection/Training Program, revealing that the annual quota for the team was only 20. As Budo was seen in the DDP Special Missions: Tokyo oneshot, and their era is flagged DISAVOWED by Hasbro, its events are non canonical. Pairing him with Jinx seemed forced, a gimmick in the sense that, whereas Larry Hama only established Snake-Eyes & Scarlett, and Destro and the Baroness as couples in the Joe/Cobra camps*, DDP opted to have Each & Every female Joe be paired with another: Jinx with Budo, and Shipwreck with Cover Girl (better to have paired her with Duke). In real life, its doubtful a real unit would have each and every female member having a significant other in the same unit’s ranks. * Yes, I should’ve added Flint/Lady J, but I think the only reason Larry eventually put them together was to appease Hasbro because of the cartoons; Lady J was supposed to be the first figure based from the cartoons. And there was No Way Mr. Hama would ever pair Scarlett with Duke romantically, despite what The Marvel & Resolute cartoons tried to present to the viewership. A Samurai on the unit ... this gives the impression that Hasbro was starting to dream up anybody with military potential just to add to the lineup, perhaps explaining why it had Law, Quick Kick, and Big Lob, or, for that matter, Super Trooper and the aborted Rocky. Had Budo been used more in the Marvel run, having him adhere to the Bushido code, or to contrast him to the then reformed Storm-Shadow would have been interesting.
Fanfic and fan art usually pairs Cover Girl with Beachhead. Shipwreck is just a player and lusts after every female Joe. I thought DD also paired Jinx and Chuckles , at least in a trist. I never really liked Scarlett with SE and thought her and Duke made more sense
I loved his original figure. Always been a fan.

OMG yes
Are you perturbed about Budo and Jinx having a relationship when they are both part of the same clan?
