    The Predators gotta be the oldest team in the league. That sounds perfect for a team that is trying to win their first cup.

      First round exit written all over. Or they might finally get out of first next year since their offense got a little better

    What Vegas underestimated is his stubbornness. He will play hard for 5 more years because he wants to play hard for 5 more years. Vegas is afraid that he would be a liability the last couple years of his contract but that’s simply not in his character. Letting him walk will only add fuel to the fire for Marchy and we will try to prove himself. Even if he took the shorter VGK deal and he did well they would have been skeptical again upon extending his contract, it is already how Vegas was acting towards him now. You have to account for these things in business leadership or you’ll miss some important factors. There is team chemistry and branding to consider too. Vegas is behind Marchy and that adds, now subtracts from their momentum. Tennessee will have some good school options for his kids though and it is obvious he cares about his kids education.

    Welcome home to Nashville, Marchy. Seeing you and Stammer both in Preds gold to round out this team with some much needed offensive dynamism is something our franchise has never been fortunate to possess. I've seen every iteration of this franchise in my 24 years as a STH, and for the first time, it feels as though the Preds can shake off the offensive anemia with the positional awareness, hockey IQ, and scoring ability to roll three lines with confidence. Go Preds!!!!

      Should be able to get 2-3yrs of good hockey out of Stammer and Marchy, and 3yrs-4yrs out of Skjei.

      @@valitsemllaluokanavahyvaks3556 I agree. Plus Josi, Forsberg, and Saros aren't getting any younger either in that time. Already wasted Pekka's career without such a splash...glad to see they're going all in.

      lol you know your gm fked up big time when 34 yr old stamkos is making 2 million less than mcdavid, he also overpaid skjei, marchessault. He signed 3 washed up UFA's, and that's not the way to build competitive hockey team, it might work in the short term. Imagine what those ridiculous contracts would look like in 2 to 3 years ...

      @@kguy80 McJesus over there is gonna see his expire in the next few years and will likely pull even more than that difference. Washed up? You've got two 40 goal scorers as of last year and a solid Dman that now compliment a stalwart D-Corps and Vezina-caliber netminder, augmenting a mediocre PP unit, and will likely serve as invested role models in training camp for prospects in the pipeline. GMBT is a Stanley Cup-winning coach taking a proactive step here as a new GM for the 90s expansion franchise he coached for the first 15 years of its existence with a ragtag assortment of nobodies (until 2004-2008). Now he is the GM of what was the 7th winningest team in the league over the past decade separated only from teams 1-6 by a Stanley Cup victory. Keep in mind, they still have $5m in cap, two 1sts, two 2nds, and two 3rds in the next draft, and can free up cap as needed, especially as dead cap falls off. Of course, having resent McDonagh to TB at his request, garnered the respect of players, put a little more cap strain on the Bolts eventually losing their captain, and these signings reassure Josi, Forsberg, and Saros of the intention to compete. So, if it fails, at least it fails daring greatly. In comparison to the mediocrity and consistently inconsistent 2019-2023 years, I'm onboard in taking that chance.

    The Preds took on McDonagh, and at his request, traded him back to TBL. That earns player respect, and with the demonstration to win through this free agency, it likely reassures Josi and Forsberg as well, potentially dissuading them from waiving NTC to move elsewhere.

    Is it just me stamkos and marchessault got the bag simply for being on two super stacked teams? They will be playing for much less talented team without players eichel, point and kucherov and they're approaching mid 30s already. And from what i have read on twitter and facebook is that vegas GM offered marchessault a similar deal but it was 4 years and he didn't take it. Seems like he wanted out. I don't know wtf are the preds doing but they made 3 questionable moves on monday by overpaying older players and also gave them NMC.

  • @ryans413
    @ryans413 3 дні тому +3

    He said a team that wants to win. He no longer saw Vegas as a team that wants to win. I don’t blame him they cast guys aside like nothing. If I was a player on that team Id go to to you never know when they are going to do you dirty like Fluery.

      Vegas is still a team that could win but they didn’t have the cap space to give him what he wanted. They pretty much chose Hanifin and Hertl over Marchy and Stephenson.

      This is the last big contract he will make and deserves every penny for it. Dude scored 40+ goals this season it amazes me that Vegas didn't want to sign the core player they had all these years.
