    Reloaders have to be some of the most innovative folks. Those look great. Hopefully they’ll shoot great too👍🏻

    Great idea! What do you think about using a hot melt gun to do this?

      The plastic, is old shotgun wads I got from the trap range, so if they worked once they should work again

    How do you make the board with two different size holes you said the bottom hole was one size and a top hose another I’m no woodworker but I’m confused

    • @maxxbear5014
      @maxxbear5014  9 місяців тому

      You drill the big hole only partway through then you drill the smaller hole to fit the slug. Thanks for your comment.

      lol thanks that’s what I was guessing. Love you video plan on doing that. did you ever do a range test? I didn’t see that video. Thank you. Have a blessed day.

      Yes, I did a range test with them, but I only did it with mini slugs, nothing full length yet. They shot OK I only shot out to 50 yards@@RobertSmith-ub6tk

    That looks like a great idea, thanks for sharing. P.s. you sound like you're from Pittsburgh.

      Yes I’m from the Pittsburgh area. I did modify the mold block I increased the gas seal a little. They shoot a lot straighter

    I think any plastic would work since wads are made from non-biodegradable?

    I thought interesting and wanted to know what your accuracy results were making your tail wads in this manner. Did you ever run them out to 100 yds?

    • @maxxbear5014

      At my range there is a gong just a big piece of metal about 15 inches round I shoot at that it’s about 100 yards I can consistently hit it but a 6 inch group I couldn’t say

      @@maxxbear5014 That is not bad really. I’m sure any of 30 variables in that can be tweaked. I am going to be experimenting throughout this year with them a bit in many different loads…. With a variety of base wads inside of the typical plastic wads. Also with Mylar and shot shell hull sleeves. May very well try your tail wads. I am working out this year on 12 ga socket slugs with 3/4” poplar dowel rod tail wad mechanically screwed to base of powder coated slug ( i’ve made complete jig set up for center drilling and casting) .

    Have you had a chance to test these at the range yet?
    I'd be interested in the results you had using the fixed wad that you designed.

      I thought I made a video on that I think I was using a 20 inch Mossberg as I remember it the standard Lee 7/8 oz slug short just about as good as these dead

    Please send over some of these for testing to TAUFLADERMAUS UA-cam Channel.

    Brother that is some awesome 👏 stuff there ,job well done. So try this instead of melting plastic, try some with a hot glue gun ?

    • @maxxbear5014
      @maxxbear5014  2 роки тому +3

      I would but I don’t think I want to clean hot glue out of my barrel I think the friction might melt it thanks for watching the video
