Bellinzona, Switzerland

Bellinzona is Switzerland’s southernmost capital town with Italian style architecture, medieval castles, and valley views. It lies on the River Ticino near the Gotthard Pass and it is a gateway to Italy for those traveling from the North. For those traveling from the South it is a keyhole to the Alps where it’s possible to take a direct train to Luzerne in central Switzerland in just 1 and a half hours.
