All this prog, jazzy music he was doing in his last times are extremely exotic and beautiful to hear. Simply a musical genius, this is a whole new level of legend and status that Bowie achieved and for that he will be remembered for ever.

I agree. I just recently became a fan of Bowie (so unfortunate that nobody else in my family is a fan otherwise I'd have probably found an album lying around the house earlier than when I got into Queen and listened to Under Pressure, I'd have been a Bowie fan way sooner) and being 14 his music always manages to soothe me whenever hormones take control - like a best friend telling you to cool your jets if someone's been annoying you. Makes teenage life much easier.

He was the best , he taught me so much about music, literature, movies.
I was lucky to meet him briefly as a fan a couple of times and ask him a question, then follow him, and he was so nice and noticed a true fan asking important questions among the bs of shallow conversation. He was such a presence and I’m glad we got to have his music forever, to accompany us, show us clues into literary references, and give us joy.

He was a Beltway sensation to Space Race dreamers fans of Newtonian physics... sciences.. conspiracy theories and truths.

Serene and surreal. This man is a true legend. Legit almost cried hearing this, cuz he probably thought of this song, and wrote it in 2015, months before he died… 69 isn’t that old, but he gave us all a true parting gift with his last album. Just think, this is art from a dying man. Some of us are too lazy to clean our room, and here he is, making music, being strong, and shining, up till the end. He transcends..

Last year, at the end of Lazarus, Bowie disappeared into a wardrobe - the last thing you saw was his hand. I had a powerful feeling that soon afterwards, a posthumous record would be released, with a video of the wardrobe door opening and Bowie stepping back into the world to sing one last song. After a while I gave it up as wish-fulfillment fantasy.
Now it looks like Mr Newton is back with a last message for us earthlings left behind.
    Now let's live.

So many beautiful references: Newton Electronics, Foxgrove Rd, the kid wearing red shoes, from Foxgrove Rd a crowd starting to build which becomes an international crowd, a bluebird flying, a rocket ship takes off, all is gone again. And I love the emphasis on the words, letting Bowie's lyrics speak for themselves. Just after the lyric 'this is not quite yet' we get a flash of future Bowie on the TV screens. Beautiful video. Well done Tom Hingston.

The most amazing concert and it was like a theatrical show, with Lindsay Kemp and his Troupe ( he taught Bowie mime) and the last song was a 20-25 mins version of Life on Mars with screaming guitar solo from Mick Ronson absolutely incredible. What I can’t believe is no one recored it

These last videos and songs are drenched with death, without coming at it head on. Very unique and brave.

He'd written 4 songs to fill in story gaps for his musical Lazarus. Afterward he told them he was going to put one of them (Lazarus) on his new studio album as well because he really liked it. He also went ahead and recorded the other 3 which were released on disc 2 of the Lazarus cast recording album. I had the sense that they were recorded at a later date than Blackstar...not sure if that's the case though.

I am 12 years old right now. My mom introduced David Bowie to me when I was about 10. We adored him and still do. I learned how amazing and beautiful he IS. Not WAS. All I remember when he died is that my mom came into my room to wake me up for school bawling. She was heartbroken to tell me what happened. Every time I hear a song of his I hold back tears. There have been so many character David Jones played. And each of them amazing! I love him and will continue to love him for the rest of my life. RIP Mr. Jones, we all love you!

I feel you. I grew up on Classic rock but Bowie wasn't something played on the station, except Fame. But it wasn't until May of 2017 or so when I found Bowie and I hit it hard. Spent that entire summer listening to all his albums, all his songs. Watching live concerts and interviews, his life. I feel like it's an entire life lived with him. Might hurt people that I've been with Bowie for so short of time when people here have been with him for decades, but Bowie lives on through us

Hello everclairew. Thank you for your comments. I'm 61 years old and everytime I hear this song I feel sad and it brings me tears too. This particular song (and few others from David Bowie) is beautiful and rather sad. I followed Mr. David Jones for decades. I felt a deep sorrow when he passed away, like he was from my own family. And I was surprised to feel that way a loss of a person I never met. He was an exceptionally talented artist who worked til his last days. I have a deep belief that God is so wonderful that would not allow the loss of our lessons learned, the knowledge we achieved and the love we share throughout our lifetime to just vanish with the death of our very limited bodies. So, I'm sure Mr. David is now in another dimension with his spirit endlessly evolving in knowledge and being prepared for new adventures somewhere in this amazing universe. In the end nothing is lost; just transfered to somewhere else. And I love him too.

Foxgrove Rd is where David had a flat in 1969. Thomas Jerome Newton is "The Man Who Fell To Earth" (the shop is called "Newton") - there's also the bluebird from "Lazarus" - "Just like that bluebird I know I'll be free"... then the rocket lanch at the end. The man who fell to earth has gone home. One year after his death and he is still leaving bread crumb trails to follow. Amazing. Just genius.

This is the song that keeps me going. I remember when I first found this on Vimeo (before it was both on UA-cam or iTunes), I was in my hotel looking out at the city lights up to the Empire State Building (my hotel had an amazing view). But as I listened to this and looked down to see the dimly lit streets to see people bustling around, living their own lives, this made me love NYC. Each and every person has their own story and reasons for what they do, but we’re all connected and united because of the city in which they share. And honestly it may sound like nothing or even stupid but honest to God thinking about that snowy December night while I listen to this brings me to tears with how happy and peaceful I feel. This is my pure bliss.

A lonely machine, playing by and for themself. Then, people (representing us) passing by, stopping and watching what he is showing us about the world ...

Cette voix est inégalable et restera à jamais inégalée:la seule à transmettre autant d'émotions
Tout simplement unique : dire que d'après bon nombre de ses amis , david n'aimait pas tellement sa voix.......

“I’ve now decided that my death should be very precious. I really want to use it. I’d like my death to be as interesting as my life has been and will be.” -

This is so PAINFULLY beautiful... The master left the stage behind a curtain of absolute beautiful. He lived the life he wanted, and when he knew his days were done, he made a statement out of his pain. He turned his passing into a work of art. These are some of the best songs he ever wrote. And he's singing from a faraway place. It's beautiful, heartbreaking. It's Life.

If anyone ever deserved to have their talent preserved in such a way, it would be him.
I almost think Mr. Bowie would've wanted it that way... It would be fittingly weird, yet beautiful at the same time.
