And her ukelele video she claims she is embarrassed by is still up on her channel by the way. Yeah so not buying this either. She only came back for the adsense money. The main problem with the actual apology segment is she is only adressing what happened in her live shows and what happened in conment sections and what happened in videos or her Netflix show, nothing about what she did to Adam MacIntyre or other people she currated into her group chat, to make posts for her and to trauma dump on and talk about explicit things with.

So hey...can we talk about the influencers on this platform for a second? There's a shitton of men that are 35-40 dating barely legal women. And sometimes teenagers if they're extra disgusting. There's a whole genre dedicated to abusing children, and another dedicated to disturbing the peace. There's little to no blowback for false DMCA strikes. And just this year:
-One of the biggest commentary channels doxxed a former employee's suicide note because he reported a toxic work environment
-A major gaming channel got caught trying to molest a nonexistent 13 year old girl
-An OG UA-camr got caught grooming a teenage boy
-A family vlogger got caught starving her children
-A vlogger scammed fans out of millions with a fake crypto game
-A reaction channel showed up at a critic's home to "have a talk"
I think it's time to stop talking about individual creators and start viewing this as a structural problem on UA-cam. This isn't drama. This is a consistent pattern of behavior on UA-cam's part. This platform is not a safe place to be.

The kind of people who ruthlessly work to become incredibly famous on the internet, and gain popularity and influence over others, especially children, will oftentimes tend to be people who will inevitably abuse that power for their own sick gain. This applies to a lot of the large UA-cam channels that get exposed for these terrible behaviours. It is just inevitable that the kind of people who become famous, some of them will be becoming famous to feed their narcissism, gain access to children to exploit, etc.

A couple things I've heard people mentioning. That his apology feels like it is really directed towards her viewers NOT, her victims, and on that note she still hasn't told her fans what exactly she had done, continuing to choose to be vague; Choosing to state she was having inappropriate interactions with underage fans rather than stating she had them do free or underpaid labor, sent them p*rn, or encouraged them to be s3xu@l around her. Next, I've heard people mention that this video conveniently was posted just as her grace period for inactivity would have ended, causing her to lose monetization. Can't say this for sure I'm not a UA-camr, but if this is the case it makes her "apology" come off as more insincere.

The guidelines might’ve changed since then though

    • @krazykookie23
      @krazykookie23 6 місяців тому +3

@@challengethesad I get not saying every single thing she had done. But I feel as though she is boiling it down a lot, you know? In her last "apology' video she basically said people were mad at her for a fart joke and for being too nosy with fans, and in this video, she states that she was inappropriate and immature, which caused her to hurt and disappoint people. But her actions were much more than that and had heavy connotations, they were criminal, traumatized kids, and very manipulative.
And I know most of her fans are not stupid, but she does have a lot of child fans with parasocial relationships and frankly, they just are more likely to take what she says at face value. Not looking at if she actually apologized to the victims, or if she took down the video that was just so embarrassing for her.
Btw, I'm not calling kids stupid, it's just that they are also unlikely to go out and seek the information themselves. Colleen is like a friend to them so they probably don't want to search for videos or click on thumbnails from people who, as their "friend" originally said, are attacking her. It's a parasocial relationship and I think young people can be more susceptible to it.
btw sorry this is long, I don't mean to seem ranty. It's just hard to summarize my thoughts while trying to say what I want to say. So I just gave up on summarizing XD

The only apology videos I ever bought were when they involved people apologizing for giving incorrect information on a news related topic or for sponsorship issues with a company that turned out to be terrible. 8:39 I really hate this part "thank you to anyone who supported me in any capacity in the last 15 years" yikes. She acknowledges that she's lost fans because they've grown up and/or figured out what kind of person she is but lumps all her dumb current fans in with the one's who see through her, including all the grooming victims, adam macintyre, and just collectively thanking all of them for their money and attention. Great stuff colleen

Fun fact: the top comment on one of the videos covering Colleen's first apology video (I can't remember if it's August's or not) is, 'We need an apology for this apology video"
    Wish granted, I guess.

Toxic Gossip Train 1 was a wholly unique and original experience. It's characters were interesting, the antagonist reveal was done well (spoiler: the train conductor who is introduced early on to the audience as a protagonist before a very well executed POV switch happens and the deuteragonist is revealed as the real protagonist), it had many surprises, well written characters, and a satisfying climax wrapped up the story nicely with the antagonist making a major mistake and engineering their own fall from grace. It is a 10/10 experience.
Unfortunately, I can not say the same about Toxic Gossip Train 2: Toxic Redemption. It is downright fan service slop served up on a hastily made platter. A lot of the original cast returns but even they must have realized TGT 2 was awful because their performances are very obviously phoned in - no authenticity or wild passion like we saw in the prequel.
The story completely backtracks over what happened in the prequel, leaving plenty of plot holes and continuity errors along the way, to a point where the original is nearly pointless. The fan service is blatant, and they had the nerve to actually include advertisements in this shit pile.
Yet somehow, despite being fan service, the legendary ukulele doesn't even make an appearance, not even once! Instead they just make a vague reference to it while trying to sweep it under the rug as if that scene in the original never happened, yet another continuity error. The antagonist goes back to Misinformation Station, but you can count on that being the only main throwback.
They even tried to pull a cliche and make the ending a "antagonist redeems themselves" trope, but it is so ridiculously poor written and executed you'd be forgiven for thinking it might be satire. Anyone who saw the original knows that the antagonist is a Machiavellian narcissist who's only interested in manipulating the situation to her benefit. A redemption arc makes no sense and is completely tone deaf to the original.
Toxic Gossip Train 2 is an absolute terrible sequel.

There also lots of people who still support her which I don’t understand at all. One person even said: “ShE cAn’T bE a ChIlD gRoOmEr BeCaUsE sHe HaS kIdS.”
By that same logic I can’t burn a house down because I have a house of my own.
