- In this very interesting conversation with Pakistan's former Foreign Secretary, Shamshad Ahmad Khan, he surprisingly and quite unexpectedly offered a very controversial view about the Army's role in the politics of Pakistan. Quite frankly It took me by surprise, given what he has been publicly saying in the past, which to my understanding offered a contrarian viewpoint. @Student of Klaus Schwab You may think that way, except that you fail to consider the fact that Ayub Khan knowingly sold Pakistan's future when he agreed to completely give Pakistan's interests in one direction instead of keeping it balanced between America and the rest of the world (read Russia and China). You should only do a quick internet search to see how Ayub Khan was greeted at the Airport by JF Kennedy, and by the Queen herself- you would be flabbergasted. That kind of grandest welcome ever to any international leader has never ever been given to anyone except Ayub Khan. That was because he knowingly signed the Seato-Cento. The rest is history. Now in 2023, the Generals have established a humongous EMPIRE that is above the constitution (they cannot be tried in Pakistani courts- they have their own Kangaroo courts headed by their own folks who give any kind of decision they want, without any fear). Nothing in the country can say or do anything if it clashes with their views. They MANAGE the elections, like they are doing right now, despite any and every legal, constitutional requirement against them. They ensure the governments that are formed are weak, coalition governments, which they then manage through the creation of their own political entitities (they created PMLN, PMLQ, MQM, BAP, TLP, and a host of others during various time in history, remember IJI). They have the largest Industrialized organization in the form of Fauji Foundation and its 51 sub organizations, all of which are headed by Ex-Army Generals. They have created the PLAAT culture that is out of control, and silenced every honest Army person from Major on up. They have brought extensive corruption into the Army itself through that property dealership.Agreed that wasn't there in ayub's times, but it started with Zia, and they have never looked back. No wonder they will not allow anybody who stands up to challenge them. Even today, people like you would give all credit to them, and blame the corrupt politicians for all wrong. But you do not realize that these very same politicians are always brought back (by cleaning them up through NRO's) and continue the plunder , as long as they do not question the stranglehold of the only INVISIBLE power that actually runs the country. Start thinking critically, and you will be able to reach the root cause of the problem, my friend.

Civilians include Judiciary and Bureaucracy. It's commonly considered opinion that Imran Khan can lead towards reconstruction of Pakistan and Army must cooperate and prove loyalty to the soil. Sorry to say that I lost a lot of my respect for Shamshad Sahib today because he is knowingly covering up the role of Military Establishment over the years. He is very selective in terms of supporting some Military rulers and blaming others that he does not like. He is still talking in the theoretical terms "Yaka-Yak Khuda ki Terf se Sub kuch Theek ho Jaega, aur Panchwan Sher Ander se Hifazat Karey Ga". Come on, Shamshad Sahib. At this late stage of your life, you should have the honesty to stand up and accept that the 4 SHERS (lions) whom you call the FAUJ are in cahoots with that 5th Lion, and they are, as well as have always been the ones who tell the politicians what will happen with Pakistan. You are trying to say that it is the other way around. Please understand that FAUJ will never get the country out of this crisis- they are the ones who are forcing the crisis by their limited vision and due to their corrupt version of "total control". Your statements have continued to show that you support the concept of keeping the Army above the Constitution. Very sorry to hear you. I guess among the so many people who have been exposed in terms of their thinking, you are the next one. In my mind at least, you destroyed whatever respect you had achieved through all these years of your service for the country. Yes, there are a few points where you have said the right things, some even against the FAUJ size, but by and large you have been, and are still standing with and supporting the wrong people, and are unwilling to accept what is the "root cause of the problem". These politicians do not have the ability to do "anything" if they are not supported by the establishment. And your statement that "Koi Long March Shuru Karey Ga tau Mein usey Join Karun Ga". Why would you do that? to show yourself as a patriot. I expected a higher level of honesty from you and cannnot believe that you do not know what you are saying. Very Sad to hear you today.
