There's some pretty spectacular talent on that stage, but you see how they all defer to Lou's lead. And Laurie just plain adores him with every glance.

I'd like to think that, judging by his facial expression, Lou quickly realized that this was a bad idea, but by then it was too late to stop it. Either that, or the guy had lost his hearing. Nobody with ears could possibly enjoy this.
Lou does such a great job on this version. This is also a master class in the art of being fey.Lou pulls it off with his characteristic utter cool, while that Wainwright brat, as usual, comes off as annoying, and eminently slappable.
@@johnnyoranges same. Some times the legend and the myth of the man is a lil more developed than the voice. This had all the presence of local musicians volunteering at the Christmas Bash in a Nursing home.
Blessings to Lou's family and friends. We'll all miss his talent.
So raw and real,, I love it!
This is just a joy. I love whenever he took it down to acoustic. He was such a storyteller and such an dreamy guy
Kate would pass shortly after this Jan 18 , 2010 and Lou three years later , miss them very much
Agree....much tooo soon

It was good that Lou put Rufus in his place, it obviously needs to happen more often.
Neat! How many years ago was this?
HI Tom. Sorry for the late answer. This was shot in the old Knitting Factory at Leonard st NY december 2009.
Wonderful!
Nico and John Cale they're not. You can almost see Lou biting his tongue to keep from saying anything.
Why ?!

Lou's voice is not suited for a song like this, imho. In fact it can hardly be called singing, more talking.
he was a great singer for velvet underground, but nothing else. rip lou, but you spoiled the whole song by elvis
i'm sure someone is out there saying Elvis spoiled the whole song by Ernest Tubb
You obviously knew very little about Lou Reed when you wrote this
I'm a big Lou Reed fan, but no, not of this.
