Raft Fishing 2017 Summer Trout season New Zealand

Ken and I rafted into a beautiful river in the middle of New Zealand to chase Steel head trout. This is the start of the 2017 Summer trout fishing season and these trout have not seen any anglers for 5 months. They are all hungry and eager to take whatever is put in front of them. We are using 6 weight rods, ten foot leaders and size 12 Nymphs. The day was hot and sunny, we need a few more days like this and then out will come the dry fly's.
