I was wondering about where to find you throughout this video! Would be nice to learn a bit more about restoring my 3rd gen camaro. Consider me subscribed!
If you had a ford it would have overheated without towing because you would have had your fat cousin setting beside you on your bench seat. So stick with the Chevy.
That’s awesome! My boss gave me an 82 Berlinetta Camaro for Christmas last year for same reason.. and the last 3 months been building it.. she’s road ready next week
I'm glad the Firebird is going to someone who will restore it. Yes, it's probably beyond economic repair, but if someone is going to do their own work on it and cares about it then the economics don't matter as much. With an engine as good as it has in it, it deserves a second chance at life! Also, now you know what the butterfly effect really means :p
Are you heading to Brainerd MN? I live not too far from Bainerd, my grandpa has a 1984 Firebird S/E That we just recently pulled out of the mud and trees, it is terrible shape, however the body is pretty solid for being parked in 95. I can relate to Jeff because my grandpa also had a 72 charger parked out back, I got to sit in it and mess around and stuff when I was 4 but I go out back a couple years later and it was just gone. I really really loved that car even before I cared for cars. And I am 12 now, I know my cars and now I know who has that car and I will save up and find that guy and talk him into selling it. Oh never mind just realized your channel name is a rural Vermonter, and I noticed your license plate, and even if that Firebird should've had a license plate on the front if was from MN, but I mean it has been sitting for 20 years.
Wow that Fiat looks nice! I was expecting a junk heap. The wheels even turned easy! Electric conversion would have been really cool. Overall though, you made a good trade. Hope you can revisit Jeff and the Firebird someday!
My man, congratulations for your good action selling that car to that man. I am sure you could have profited it a quite a lot more, but you help that man make true his childhood dream and my respects for that. About your Chevy, I would seriously recomend you get rid of that truck. I know you are not a Scotty Killmer fan by any stretch of the imagination, but he has a point about GM quality in the last years. I mean, your old diesel truck and your new 3500 dually are from the good years of GM and are great vehicles, but your 2500, the 1500 and the Colorado, not so much. A good friend of my has a 2012 Chevy Suburban, and is a rolling pile of junk. I swear you, I was a GM fan and was going to buy a mid 2000 Chevy Silverado. After fixing that Suburban for 6 months I decide to get a old mid 90 Mazda B2200 and say goodbye to any GM car.
@@ARuralVermonterQqjmcb182 The truck had a common overheat condition towing up a hill. The oil as you saw has degraded. Please change the sump oil and it should be good to drive again. Thank you.
You should fix the 124 and sell it in Europe as prices are quite high for that car. I admire the love for the Pontiac the new owner has, there's a ton of work to fix that! He must really care about it.
Looks like you turned that firebird into some cash and got another car which you rehomed. Nice work. Now if we could see some more of that dually, I'd forever be your fan🤔

Either you did a time line shift and this was made before the Silverado left ... or it is still in your car corral. BTW - I can support the decision you made with making a move on the Firebird for Jeff, so not all your deals go bad. *rewards*
check out your cooling system completely, and make sure your coolant is 50/50. and please get a 180f thermostat in that truck! that factory thermostat just cooks those engines.
Idk lol, but i would guess because of how far civilisation can be from people in vermont lol, i live in new york state and the closest walmart is like 30 miles from me
@@justinepaula-robilliard Hahaha nailed it. I drive 6 miles of dirt road just to hit pavement and go up and down several huge hills and countless turns. That's just one direction!
Umm he spent time and gas to go get it and who else knows to get the firebird... I'm sure he has bills to pay also, can't just go giving things away when people are willing to pay for them.. Horrible economics..
You still planning on selling that truck and daily driving the new GMC once you get the new trans in it? I love that GMC and would love to see content on it.
Tow/haul I noticed in my 02 6.0 the engine brake heats the engine up quick. Only time I’ve seen it go over the usual temp is when I’m stuck in the city with a decent load driving around forgetting it’s on lol. I dig the videos mostly because I have the exact same truck, but it’s been so good to me the past few years seeing you go through these problems suck. I beat the hell out of it and it does whatever I need it to.. lol
The new owner is going to have his work cut out for him. By the time he is done, this generation of F-bodies will have appreciated enough in value to make it at least breakeven.

Super happy to hear that the car will be saved. It would have been hard to hear "It is going to be a derby car" or something like that. :) .
It’s common for them to overheat while towing up hill. Upgrading the radiator and transmission cooler fixes that if you plan on towing with it often
that's why you get a ford

In vermont that is a very normal sighting
It’s a 5 speed hardtop there really rare glad to see it’s getting restored maybe the fiat is a Jeep grand cheerokee

i am glad this guy has forsight to fix up a great car
You’re spider is a lot like my 77 Spitfire when I got it! Needs new interior, seats, engine tune up, and paint! We are still working on the paint!
You DEFINITELY have to do an electric conversion. That would be AWESOME
The Fiat would have made such a good track day or classic rally car, a good turnaround and fun vid, thanks.
That 76 Fiats really cool
That truck shouldn't be overheating pulling that small load. Something is definitely wrong.
Yea cooling issue somewhere
