    I’m also a mom in my 30s learning to code ☺️ After a little break, your video has me excited to jump back into 100devs. Leon and the community are awesome!
    I’m sorry to hear your daughter had to go to the hospital but glad she’s recovering! Those moments can be so hard and emotional. God is good 🙏🏼

    Best advice I can give anyone watching as a self taught developer who changed careers late, make code and theory your obsession when you have the time to do it. Build your life around it, UA-cam videos, podcasts, small projects etc. Started my learning adventure when my daughter was born and it was tough but trust me you can do it. Blessings to all!

    This is dope to see I’m not the only one. In my 30’s as well, did a career switch to cyber and I’m learning C and Assembly to eventually learn exploit development and reverse engineering.

    Thank God i found you and this community. I'm in my 30s too, learning Javascript at the moment. I started with HTML and CSS like 3 months ago, I'm at the point where java script is proving very challenging. This video is like a wake-up call for me to not lose hope and focus. Thanks for sharing your journey with us

    Sorry to hear about your daughter's health issue scare. Yikes. I imagine you're relieved she's feeling better. Your javascript project looks fun and educational. You have so much going on! Best wishes for big success.
    I see what you mean about sometimes it looks as though there's less extra space around the card. When similar things happen to me I jump into Chrome or Firefox Dev Tools and look at the computed dimensions. I know that does help much to explain what's causing the behavior. Sometimes seeing the numbers and trying to work out in my head and understand the math helps keep me engaged in the process of trying to track down the cause. The explanation usually ends up making perfect sense after you know it.
    Wow. That's cool that you're working on simplifying and shortening your code. Looks tight and clean.

    I started after having my son and raising him a bit i think he was 3 when I started. Now I am a senior Javascript dev and iOS developer. I also take roles as a technical writer.
    Its possible but motivation is key and being okay with failure and starting over and over again.

    man its exciting to see people still learning to code. I recently gave up my 3 year learning journey. I did learn html css and js and built projects but I just couldn't find a job. There are so many frameworks and changing technologies one has to learn on top of js. Also its my strong opinion that in the next couple years web development jobs will be taken away by Ai. Now im considering options of getting my degree in computer science with a focus on Ai or jumping into cybersecurity. I'm not just not confident about web development being a thing or a career anymore sooner than later (as with many jobs really). Best of luck to you on your journey I wish you success on your journey!

      Are SQL dev jobs more hybrid than other ones like frontend, backend etc?

    • @KMyer
      @KMyer 15 днів тому

      @@GoodByeSkyHarborLive I think it depends on the working environment but it can be done strictly remotely. A lot of tasks are done outside of business hours.

      @GoodByeSkyHarborLive 14 днів тому

      @@KMyer Thanks. Do you think an sql/back end developer positions are less saturated than the front end dev for entry level work?

    • @KMyer
      @KMyer 14 днів тому +1

      @@GoodByeSkyHarborLive Hi, it's a fairly saturated market right now. It's an area that is done heavily in India and other countries and right now tech jobs are drying up there. This means that they are coming towards the western world for employment. But it's something that will always be needed and the law may change in the US and Canada to only allow so many of these jobs to be sent overseas. The companies do this because it is cheaper labour, but it's unfortunately leaving a lot of people without work. I work with one US company that is clearly lacking SQL employees to maintain their software so there is a need for them.

    all the comments talking about I’m a mom with kids learning to code I definitely don’t fit the description 😂, but I’m a 20 year old man currently about 6 months into learning coding , and I’m really dedicating my all into it, I wanna be able to take care of my mom like she has done for me , I’ve been facing depression from studying every day not interacting with anyone, but I do hope it all pays off one day, and I can give her the life she deserves, and give my future kids the life I wish I had

    I enjoyed watching your video while cooking! I’m currently learning JavaScript as well through a program called open classroom and boy it’s hard. The project I’m working on requires a lot of attention to detail but I know the more I stick to it, JavaScript will be a very valuable skill to have. I pray you succeed in your journey and continue finishing what you’ve started. Also congrats on the little one🥹🩷

      Learning operating system internals, networking programming, Linux, CI/CD and shit
      Learning web penetration testing concepts like file inclusion, sql injection, web cache poisoning, white box pen test, code review, etc
