iPhone Won't Send Pictures or Download Pictures
This video shows how to fix your iPhone if you can't send or receive images in your text messages. It could be one of three issues typically.
1. MMS Messaging is toggled off
2. Sign out and back into your Apple ID
3. Reset networking settings
If this doesn't solve your problem it could be on the other person's end and something wrong with their phone or network.
Hopefully, this helps fix your phone if iMessage pictures are not downloading.

same here! I can send group messages and send photos now without using data. Now to see if I can actually get them too instead of when I use data then I get a bunch of photos or group messages from who knows when. ugh.

juliet amanda kellyy like your contacts or the message? This hack doesn’t work anymore. Only sometimes so I keep having to redo these steps. A new update at the end of July stopped the work around. I also get no vms or notice of one until I turn on data for an extended time. Very annoying!

For me it was neither of these, make sure the conversation starter iMessage/number that’s receiving and sending photos is the same as the main iCloud your logged into

What if it still won’t download the picture. I sent someone a picture and when I went back to it to show someone else it didn’t show up. I pressed and it went to downloading then it wouldn’t download. Now, it doesn’t even show to downloading. It only shows the file thing like in yours above the downloading thing.

Well i signed out of my apple ID and now it won't let me sign back in. I pressed sign in, the message disappears and nothing happened, I tried clicking the second option and putting my apple ID again but it loads and then proceeds to say there was an error.
